Rules and Guidelines
Please be aware of and follow all of the rules below. They have been separated into site specific rules and RP rules. I can't stress how important these rules are to us to maintain the integrity of this site. Please also be aware that these rules are subject to change at our discretion and a PM will be issued when the rules are changed in anyway. Thank you.
Please be aware of and follow all of the rules below. They have been separated into site specific rules and RP rules. I can't stress how important these rules are to us to maintain the integrity of this site. Please also be aware that these rules are subject to change at our discretion and a PM will be issued when the rules are changed in anyway. Thank you.
Site Rules
These rules apply to the site in general. Please be aware of all of them.
- Do not steal any of our content, graphics, codes, ideas, posts and so on or you will be banned and turned into Proboards. Members work hard at the characters, graphics and things that they create. Please have some respect.
- Respect each other! We expect discussions to get heated and some arguing, but flaming one another is not allowed. If you cannot respect each other, don't expect to be staying here for much longer.
- No spamming. This includes in the boards, through PMs, the CBox and so on. Spamming means PMing people your site asking them to join or posting the same post all over the site and so on.
- Signature pictures can not be any bigger than 500 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall. Our board is smaller than most and any bigger than this size will stretch the boards, which can get rather annoying for people with smaller monitors, slower connection speeds, etc.
- If you're here to RP, then you must have a first and last name. The only exception of this is perhaps for older vampires, who may never have had a last name in their past and haven't adopted to have one now.
- I know everyone's first language is not going to be English, but please keep your spelling, grammar and typo mistakes down to a minimum. Also, no 'net' speak in RP boards please. It's fine in OOC boards though.
- If you go inactive, then you will lose your character. This especially applies if you're a canon character. We consider one month to be inactive with canons. If you're going on vacation or something, then let us know. Otherwise, we don't want to hear any excuses. If you don't have the time in your life right now to RP properly, then make your own original character and leave the canon characters for those who have the time. As for original characters, you will lose your claim on your celeb.
- If you're going to have a canon character we expect you to be active and RP!
(a)Please note that if you are a canon character signing-in without posting is not considered active!
(b)Also if you are a canon character making one post in that month also does not make you active.
(c)I will check, so make sure to follow this! You must be active throughout the month to be considered active. This doesn't mean OOC, why have a canon character if you're going to be inactive or not RP? So make sure to RP in that month as well. Activity checks happen every month, so be sure to stay active.
(d)You may not use any of the celebs that play the characters in the movies, yes even if the character isn't using them. This is because if that person loses that character then the next person who gets him/her may want to use the celeb from the movie.
(e)If you already have a canon, you may not be eligible to have another canon character. For example, if you play Rosalie, then you shouldn't play any of the other Cullens, because then, at some point, you will have to RP your characters together, and then you'd just be RPing with yourself lol. But if you play say Angela, then playing a Cullen is ok, because what are the chances of those characters ever talking? - Again, another rule about inactivity. If you are an original character and are inactive for a month, with no notice to the site or any of the admins, you will lose your celeb claim. If you are an original character and are inactive for two months, your character will be deleted.
- Please note that members are not allowed to RP within the site until their application has been accepted. The only posts they can make prior to their application being accepted are in the OOC board or in the discussions. If you are found posting before your application is accepted, your post will be deleted, if it is in the thread of an accepted member, or your thread will be archived, if you have started a new one.
- Members that sign up and are inactive for 15 days, without having posted an application or anything, will have their account deleted. We can't have non-accepted members roaming around like that. For example, if you sign up for the site, but the last time you logged in was 15 or more days ago, you will be deleted.
- You must ideally be over 13 years old to be on this site. If you are under 13, please get parental permission. By signing up on this site you are verifying that you are either 13 or have your parental permission. This is because it's an acutal Proboards rule.
- The staff here works very hard to maintain this site, so it is highly advised that you should not argue with them or bother them too much. If you are asked to do something, you should do so without question. On that note, the special word to add to your application is LION. This word is subject to change.
RP/Character Guidelines
These rules apply more directly to the RPs and threads throughout the site. Please be aware of all of them.
- There can only be one person on the site using the canon names, meaning we can only have one person per canon. For example, if we already have a Bella Swan, then you can not be Bella Swan. However, if Bella Swan goes inactive, we will open back up applications for that character.
- No use of actors/actresses, characters from other books, TV shows, movies, etc. Why in the world would Harry Potter or, say, Brad Pitt be here in Forks? You can use them as your celeb, but you can not use their names or histories.
- No one-liners allowed, actually no two-liners either. All RP's should be AT LEAST 300 words long. They can, of course, be longer than that. A paragraph is roughly 8 to 12 sentences long, depending on the content. If the paragraph holds good descriptive content, then fewer sentences are required. If the sentences aren't so good, then you would need more to form a good paragraph.
- No God-Moding or Autoing. God-Moding is where your RP character cannot be hurt in any way whatsoever. Autoing is where you take control of someone else's character. An example of autoing is speaking for someone else or having someone else's character act without the owner's permission. I know in Mrs. Meyer's world that Vampires are very hard to kill. These rules don't neccessarily apply to the abilities that Mrs. Meyer has already given the characters.
- No Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. This is where your character(s) are perfect in every way. We know this isn't the case in real life people. No one is perfect. So when applying for a character, especially originals, don't be this way or it won't be accepted. Again, this does not apply if these characteristics were already written in by Mrs. Meyer.
- Characters can not kill each other off without the consent of the character that is being killed off. Characters being turned into something other than their original species also can not be turned into another without that character's consent.
- All RP posts should be in the third person. Everyone should be posting in the third person. First person scenarios don't really fit into a situation like this. Third person is where you refer to your characer in terms of 'he/she did this', 'he/she did that'. We don't want to see a series of 'I did this', 'I did that'. It's not acceptable.
- When an RP title has something about being 'closed', 'reserved' or someone's specific name in the title, this means that is it closed specific to certain people and that you shouldn't post in this RP, unless you are specifically involved. It is rude to interrupt someone's RP without person, so please refrain from doing so.
- Open threads are allowed. These often help people to gain new friends in character through someone simply looking for somewhere to post. If you run out of RPs or simply want more, use the character personals section. That is what it is for.
- Strong language is no longer allowed. You can use soft language, such as, hell, but nothing too strong. Please note that this is a proboards rule.
- No "mature" RPs or OOC talk either. Everything here must be kept at a PG-13 level or lower. No strong language, no sexual RPs or talk and this includes images guys! Again this is a proboards rule, please follow this or we can be deleted again.
