Zane woke up early that morning, not really wanting to wake up, but waking up anyway. His brother was shaking him. He climbed out of bed and rubbed his eyes, and turned to Luke, his little brother. He probably wanted something to eat, but Zane couldn’t be sure. “What’s wrong Luke?” Luke just looked Zane in the eye, not bothering to answer. He pulled on Zane’s hand, and Zane picked himself off the bed, and followed Luke to the kitchen. Luke pointed up at the cereal box, and Zane poured Luke a bowl of cereal. Then he traveled back upstairs and got into the shower. He got some faded jeans on and a t-shirt. He slipped on some Vans shoes and walked back downstairs. Luke was done with breakfast and dressed in his spiderman pajamas. Zane smiled at the black haired boy. He was a sweetheart, the only kid that was truly innocent in Zane’s mind. That kid was so giving, so caring, that even Zane couldn’t match it. Zane loved Luke and was very protective of him.
After Luke was ready to go the daycare, Zane decided not to take him to the daycare. Zane didn’t have work today, and Luke really just needed some attention. Zane barely had time for him these days, and it was taking a toll on Luke. Zane couldn’t let that happen. It would be sad for Luke to live like that. Zane had lived like that once upon a time, and he had loathed it that way. He didn’t want it to happen to Luke too. He got Luke into his car, which was sort of old, and took it to the beach. Luke and Zane were going to hang out all day long, to see if it made Luke feel better. They parked, and Luke already was jumping into the water. All he had was swimming trunks and a t-shirt on. Zane was happy for him. Luke was happy now, and Zane hoped to keep it that way. He loved Luke’s smiling face. Luke yelled at him to run into the water with him, and Zane did. He ran right into the water with Luke. They splashed each other, and Zane took Luke into the deeper end.
After two hours of just playing in the water, Luke was exhausted. Zane was okay on energy. Zane laid a towel down and Luke sat on it. He was fighting sleep and asked if Zane would buy him an ice cream. Zane got him an ice cream cone, and Luke ate it, and got all the more sleepy. Luke fell asleep on the towel, and Zane sat down next to him. He wanted to take Luke home and let him sleep, but Luke had made him promise not to leave until he wanted to go. Zane gave him until sunset to decide on when to go home. Zane put some sun screen on Luke and then just sat down next to him. Suddenly he looked over at a girl, and the world revolved around her. He felt as if he were going to float away without her. He stopped staring, and then walked over to her. She was all alone. ”Why’re you alone?” [/blockquote][/color]
