- First thing is first, there are still members that have not sent me their new celeb claims. I want to reiterate that I am not responsible for changing their admins when they magically change. I think that should definitley be in the newsletter that, even if I see a change -coughaishacough- I don't change it. I know we said it in the last one, but..yeah it doesn't have to be in the new one, but it's not my fault when their celeb is reclaimed. =]
- Celeb and canon claims is a very important issue at this moment. We need to make a decision on whether or not we want the claims for the canons to be held. I've been talking to Lila, though, and I think it's a good decision. Just my opinion. Also, it's time to go over them again. I'll be gone at the beginning of August. So, I'm going over them at the end of next week...well, the celeb claim. We need to let people know if they haven't posted in a month, the claim is gone. Also, we need to delete inactive members. It would make numbers more even. I know I've looked through the list already. lol.
- Halfs! These are getting deleted and we should give characters a fair warning. Lila and I are both going to go through apps to make sure there are none lingering around.
- AWARDS!! Yes, awards, and you ALL know I have an opinion on these things. xD And we're taking away GDOTM and replacing it with RPerOTM. Here's what I think. Member of the Month: This is getting a lot harder, but so is couple of the month. There's Chance. He's uber active and a great RPer, but I think lately he's been kind of inactive. Um? I really can't think of anyone. lol. Couple of the Month: There is still Landon and Andi, though both of those characters went inactive. I think everyone did! lol. RPer of the Month: Me of course! lmao. Kidding. Honest to God, I think James deserves this. Yeah, someone probably thinks I'm being very biased about this because Tori is my best friend here and all, but I honestly think she deserves this. She's been just as active as anyone else on this site. It's not that her character and mine are engaged. She could have chosen anyone for that, but she is honestly an amazing RPer. I really think she deserves recognition for it. However, all of the above is just my opinion. What do you guys think?

With your first concern, I completely agree! They shouldn't just change celebs without informing someone. Because if someone comes along and claims the celeb that they're using then it's their own fault for losing the celeb to the person who actually claimed it the right way. Should we have a post that they can reply to saying they want to change their celeb?
As for canons and claims. I am actually going through the claims right now. As I told you I noticed that the last time they were checked it was going by the logging in rule and not the posting rule. So I think it's only fair to remove any inactive people. Some of this people haven't posted since April or May and it's about to be August. As for the idea I brought up, and I hope this doesn't make Lauren mad since she hasn't posted in the thread yet, but I told Ashlyn not to accept anyone trying to claim a celeb from the movie unless it's the character the celeb plays in the movie, at least until we work out if we want to keep that rule or not and I know I do and Ashlyn confirmed she did in the thread.
Yes, we can warn them before deleting them, they may want to turn their character into just a human. But I do think they need to go.
I know, I know I keep trying to change awards. But I was thinking instead of member of the month, which awards the people behind the character, maybe we could have a Character of the Month. That way characters get nominated and not the members behind it. Because people have more than one character, and sometimes they have 2 or 3 awesome and active characters, and this may also give us more options.

I was hoping that at least Cassie would have posted here by now, but I guess I'll put my say in on Lila's things then.
I love the idea of a thread where people can ask to change their celebs. I can start that right now if need be. No one knows to PM me about changing it and things. And it's obnoxious. I got someone upset that their PB was changed, but there was nothing I can do to change it because I can't steal someone else's celeb from them just because they changed it and didn't tell me about it. So, I can start it now.
I updated the celeb claim and took off anyone who hadn't posted since July 1. I know it's a few days shy of August and all, but I'm going to be gone then and I wanted to get it done sooner because I'm a huge procrastinator and the longer I can put something off, the longer I will. Plus, most haven't posted since June 1 and those were OOC topics they posted in. I am no longer accepting any character that uses a movie PB! I also just figured something, we need to look over the canons and see who plays them. I know that Aisha plays Renesmee and Rosalie. I know those two would have to RP sooner or later with each other. But I don't know anyone else. I haven't really looked.
Ooooh! Yeah, like we can read over character histories/plots and see who has the best one? I like that idea because it's getting hard to pick members. I'm so afraid of picking the same people over and over again. lol. This way it really wouldn't matter! Yes, I like this! [/blockquote] |

Lauren is on vacation, and Cassie isn't posting(she may have RL issues right now, I don't know) ... so this may be just us getting things together and out for now. Which is fine with me, I have been inactive before... but I just hope they don't get mad at us for going ahead without them. But maybe Lauren will be back before August 1st lol...
But yes if you haven't already, you can post the change celeb claim thread thingy lol.
I noticed once I was done with A's that everyone else seemed to be active, so I figured you must have been checking them ahead of me lol. Thanks for checking them!

I changed Alice to Ashley Greene but I totally spaced on Sam and Jacob. Now, are we making it mandatory that the canons switch over to movie celebs because Sam probably has absoltely nothing to work with yet and his celeb is kinda ugly anyways xD and I just... really like Steven for Jake. Those are the only three canons I play.
as for the awards, I like the change. like lauren said, we basically based the MotM on characters anyways.

i have something to say about that too! see leah's girl is kinda like..a nobody. and i've had hanna beth for leah since like day one and i really dont wanna change it. can't we just like make it that the super important characters have to switch over? because it's gonna be hard to change over celebs for the not so important characters seeing as they may not be all that popular. do you know what i mean?? No, I don't think we are making it mandatory. In fact, I'm pretty sure we decided that it's ok to use someone who isn't in the movie. However, say you lost the canon. Whoever comes after Alice may want to use Ashley Greene. If the celeb is claimed, obviously, they can't. We aren't making it mandatory to use the movie pbs. We're just making it so that no other character can. Does that make sense?
And I apologize for my long absence as Ashlyn. We started moving last week which made it close to impossible for me to be on for too long. Then Monday, I went to Warped Tour in St. Louis. That was a five hour drive from here, where I live. I had every intention of doing apps when I got back, but someone rubbed me the wrong way. that's awesome though. im glad you had a great time.
alright well now that you're back, lets start hammering out suggestions for the awards so i can get this letter out asap.
im starting to work weekdays again, so im not so sure how long im gonna be around every single day, but i will be around without a doubt, whether it be roleplaying or the like (:
sooo ideas? we're going to have character of the month, roleplayer of the month, and couple of the month. and i have a suggestion, maybe we can have people pm us with nominations. or something. that way we can get an idea from the members of who is doing an awesome job around the site and such. because i mean, when we arent around that often, it's hard to know who should win stuff. we can take their nominations into consideration and it will make our job slightly easier.
if we agree on that, i can tell them to pm me with all nominations and i'll make a thread here with the list or something.

Don't hate me girls! I've been mega sick, lol, one thing right after the other. Nothing major, but it's like stomach virus for a couple days, allergies were so bad for almost a week that my doctor was like wow(at one point my eyes were watering so bad it was like I was constantly bawling my eyes out haha), a migraine for a couple days, and now it's either my allergies again or I have the flu or who knows what lol. I feel better so it should be over in the next few days, but truthfully I am so exhausted that I may take a couple more days to relax after I am fully well. I hope you understand! I promise to be back within a week, hopefully!  |
