take another glance and rememberwe're the ones setting you up to take our fall* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * It was at least five in the morning, Viola was the only one in the house that had her lights on and was sitting on her bed watching a crappy morning soap opera on television. She had woken up about twenty minutes before in need of a drink. She climbed lazily downstairs and had some water and could never go back to sleep since. There was never anything interesting on t.v. so early in the morning and she really wasn't paying attention. She was exhausted physically and mentally but she just couldn't go to sleep. Viola waited this entire time to just drift off to sleep but...nothing. She sighed putting her head in her hands and listening to the sound of people talking from the show. She reached for her lamp and turned it off, snuggling herself under the covers. Maybe if she lied down and closed her eyes, she would go to sleep. She turned off the television and sighed as she threw the covers over her head. Viola closed her eyes tightly shut, tossing in turning trying to get comfortable. Nothing worked, so she just moved the covers away from her eyes and stared up at the ceiling. Dawn was approaching and the pink and orange colors were peaking through into her room making weird shadows everywhere.
She could hear an alarm clock go off downstairs, possibly her father's, and listened as footsteps creaked towards the bathroom and then down the stairs. Might as well get up now, can't sleep anyway. Viola got out of her bed and walked quietly downstairs, her mother was probably still asleep. She ruffled her hair up and pushed it back into a ponytail walking into the kitchen. The tile was freezing on her bare feet, she had forgotten her slippers upstairs. Her father stared at her awkwardly probably wondering what she was doing down here so early.
"Couldn't sleep,"
She smiled slightly, leaving the kitchen and walking back to her room to get her slippers. She plopped herself on the floor and shoved them on, dragging her feet towards the bathroom. Viola washed up and stepped back downstairs. The house was filled with light and Viola looked at the time, it was now six. She yawned walking into the kitchen, this time she could only feel the fluffiness of her slippers and smell pancakes. She sat down at the table and hunched herself over it, her hair all around her. "You should try to go back to sleep Viola,"
[/i] her father said holding a large mug of what smelled like coffee. "Tried already."He shrugged turning off the burners and putting a mound of pancakes on two plates. Her mother must of still been sleeping, then again she did stay up all night waiting for him to come home. He put one plate by Viola and ate his hurriedly looking at the clock every few seconds. She smiled in thanks and ate her own, she felt a little more awake. Her father left shortly after, off to the hospital for a long day. Viola watched from the window as he pulled off in the car in the direction towards town. That was where she should go today, off to somewhere around town. She sighed getting up and walking back upstairs, she could hear the light breathing of her mother who was obviously a heavy sleeper. Viola walked into her room, yawning as she reached her closet. She picked something simple to wear and walked toward the bathroom, hurrying to get ready. For the next few hours Viola sat in her room, not wanting to go out so early. Her mother had woken up around eleven, she didn't have to work until twelve and soon Viola would be the only one in the house. That hour passed and Viola heard her mother's horn, telling her she was leaving. She waited until one, walking around the house and keeping herself preoccupied before leaving. Most people were out today, it was one of those rare warm days in Forks. She walked towards town, staring at her feet as she walked. Passing the apartment buildings she lost focus and wasn't paying attention to where she was going. She crashed into someone and feel on her bottom, giggling slightly. She looked up and stopped laughing, it was Alex. Viola stared at him for quite a while, a bit amazed that he was actually standing there. She hadn't seen him in about a week or two and had to admit she sort of forgot about him, but all those feelings came back so quickly it almost winded her. She bit her tongue trying to figure out what to say. "Sorry...Alex."She lifted herself off the floor and dusted off her jeans, still looking at him awkwardly. reach for the stars so if youfall you land on the clouds* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * It was around ten o'clock at night when Alex decided that it was time to go home. He had been to a friends house partying, he hadn't drunk anything because that just wasn't him. Alex had smiled pleasantly and thanked the guy and left. Once he had turned away from the house the smile vanished, the party had been dreadful and had only started at nine so he had been there for about an hour. He hadn't met and nice people, or really anyone whom he would want to see ever again in his life, probably didn't help that people were already semi drunk so the conversations usually ended up with a guy getting all defensive or a girl crying at the 'tragic' breakup of her recent boyfriend. Alex would just sigh loudly at those times and try to ignore them. Alex walked down the street, trying to remember where he parked his car. Alex drove a silver lexus as his mom and dad had been friends with the owner. Alex sighed and took out the clicker and pressed the button that signaled the car to open. He heard and beep and at the end of the street lay his car. He smiled and got into the drivers seat. The engine roared to life smoothly and Alex got out of his parking space and drove home. He parked in an open spot around the corner from his apartment building.
Alex sped up the stairs carefully to the third floor. He opened the door and stepped inside. He heard a few people partying downstairs, but that was basically it. He went to the closest bathroom, which was the biggest, and got his electric toothbrush ready. He turned it one and started moving it around, following it's buzzing. He spit out the toothpaste and stopped the toothbrush from doing it's duty. The toothbrush said that he had been brushing his teeth for two minutes and thirty two seconds. He placed it where it should go and washed his mouth out of the flavor. He then took some mouthwash and hopefully washed his mouth free of some germs. Alex then went to his room and put on a pair of pajama pants. He slid under his covers and turned onto his right side. His pillow felt hard and lumpy tonight. Alex sighed and rolled onto the other pillow, it was slightly better, but still it didn't meet his standards. Tomorrow he would definitely go get new pillows. With this thought Alex closed his eyes and fell asleep. Alex slept peacefully for a few hours, dreaming about the beach and swimming, but then something seemed to be lurking behind him. The something was a very attractive woman with dazzling white teeth. She grinned at him pleasantly, but the look in her eyes said something different. She knew he comprehended and she smiled wider, revealing a set of fangs. Alex shot up out of his bed and looked at the book that he had gotten out of a bookshop the other day in Port Angeles. It was about Quileuten legends. He turned to a part about vampires and werewolves. That was it, he had just cracked the mystery of Forks around three in the morning.
Alex sat on his bed in silence, trying to comprehend what he had just done. Was there really such a thing as vampires and werewolves in Forks, no anywhere in the world. The story seemed logical as everything fit, no werewolf or vampire seemed to get along with one another and if they were polite it was forced, probably because of some alliance they had. A smile spread upon Alex's face. He was brilliant, well when he came to think of it he was quite slow as he had been in Forks for awhile, but he hadn't figured it out. None the less Alex was smiling. He lay his head down on his pillow and stared up at the ceiling, ready and waiting for sleep. The sleep did not come. Alex's mind was working too hard, even though his body was dreadfully tired. He tried sleeping, waiting for thirty minutes, but nothing came. He sighed and heard the music turn on louder downstairs. He took his headphones and his ipod touch and turned it on. He sat on his bed listening to Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco rap for awhile before going into the bathroom and getting ready for a shower. He put his ipod on a speaker and played his shower playlist, which consisted of songs that he could sing along to, also known as slower songs such as the Beatles' work. There were plenty of other songs on the playlist, but the Beatles was where he left off last time.
Alex finished showering and rubbed himself dry, shaking his head, trying to get the water out. He smiled and looked at the time, it was only six o'clock in the morning. He could be an early shopper he supposed. Alex went to his room and put on some clothes. He wore simple khaki shorts and a grey, horizontally striped sweater. He combed out his hair and then put his keys in his pocket, he also decided that bringing his wallet would be a good idea. Alex walked out of his apartment and out the building. He decided that he would just walk about today as he was probably only going to buy pillows, maybe a snack. Alex walked down the street at six thirty in the morning. Alex went to the nearest store and got two comfortable feeling pillows, he paid and went to the next stop; breakfast. He went to a pancake house and obviously ordered pancakes. He finished everything around eight thirty. Alex decided that he didn't want to be carrying around pillows all day so he decided to run home. Alex opened the door to his building and ran up the stairs like he had done the night before. Alex opened his door and threw himself in. He took the pillows and set them on his bed. He took his ipod touch and headphones and turned on the music. He sat there for awhile and listened to music and surfed the web. He then took his laptop and set it down on the table and put it on it's charger. He kept his ipod and headphones and walked out the door for the second time that day. He put on a pair of nike dunks, blue and gray. He ran down the stairs and walked into the sunshine. He smiled and continued walking, humming along to the songs. He wasn't paying attention and rammed into someone. "I am so sorry. Wait, Viola?" The girl on the ground was familiar, he had become friends with her while going to the beach. Alex smiled and helped her up. "So how have you been?"

take another glance and rememberwe're the ones setting you up to take our fall* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Her exhaustion had really messed her up, she couldn't focus and had apparently crashed into someone. The last thing she wanted was to get yelled at. She had looked up rather quickly ignoring the pain in her wrist. It was Alex Hawkins, the boy she had met at the beach a while ago. It was probably one of the best days she had here so far in Forks. At least he wouldn't treat her so badly, she knew he wasn't the kind of person to do that. Viola was still surprised she had actually bumped into Alex. He was the last person she expected to see out here. She let him help her up, using her own efforts to keep herself standing up. She twisted around her wrist it was a little bruised but nothing serious.
Viola ran her hands through her hair, she had forgotten to actually brush it this morning. She suddenly became aware of how tired and terrible she looked just because Alex was standing in front of her. Usually she wouldn't care less if she looked like such a bum. She tried to smile trying to hide how bad she had actually been. Her move here to Forks hadn't gotten any better. She was back to hating it here. "Great,"
[/b] she lied making sure not to give any hint of sarcasm. Right now she seriously didn't want to talk to anyone, actually she wasn't really expecting to have any sort of conversation with anyone. She studied Alex, he looked neat and tidy while she looked tired and sloppy. Viola was really wishing she could start the day all over so at least she would be a bit more presentable. She put the few fly-away hairs behind her ears and smiled, turning so she was beside him. She wasn't actually sure if he wanted her to join him in what looked like a walk around wherever but she did anyway. She walked alongside him looking down at the ground thinking of what to say. "I'm hoping you've been better then I have," she hadn't even realized that she just told herself off until after she said it. There was no taking it back now. Hopefully he wouldn't notice and not ask any questions about it. It would take probably hours to explain how much she seriously wanted to move back to Montana. Every minute she spent here she felt as if something bad were to happen to her or her family, if only she could convince them to get the hell out of here. She smiled up at Alex looking at the ipod in his hand. Did he even hear her. Hope not.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Status :: FINISHED!
