[/blockquote]Silence grew in the small two bedroom cottage that Abigail Schewwing lived in. That's all she ever heard now that Bee was gone, and it still hurt a little sometimes. Okay, a lot. As the blonde stood in the doorway of her ex-roomate's bedroom, her onyx stared past the lifeless walls and through the window. Cars passed, glinting headlights into her home and splashing rainwater onto the sidewalk; something that would never cease in Forks. The gloomy town had the same feeling that Abigail oddly felt in the pit of her stomach. Regret. Though, the only regret she'd been feeling lately was resisting the urge to feed.
Grown hollow and grey, Abi's eyes were the only proof that she'd been neglecting her body. As a vampire she still stood beautiful and young, looking better than the average human, even at her worst. The thirst singed her throat, and Abi emitted a low growl. I'm not eating, the thought pursued its way through her body, but the burning sensation still lingered.
Something flickered in the window, and Abigail passed it off to be another car. However, as it's light continued across the lawn, she straightened and looked out the window. Then, nothing was visible and what was more, it was still quiet. Silence. Abi furrowed her brow, and her onyx eyes gazed intently through Beatrice's window to see what had caused the flickering.
Nothing still, yet the woman's intuition told her that something was wrong. Making her way from the door frame to the window, and opened it smoothly. Jumping out, she landed without a sound. Inhaling, an unmistakable scent caught in her throat; blood. Abigail turned to see a young woman laying on the sidewalk, her legs sprawled in opposite but impossible directions. Upon each foot was a rollerblade drenched in icy rainwater, and in her hand a dimming flashlight.
"People are so stupid!" Abigail let that thought slip out as she made her way back into the house to call 911. Though she'd normally help out in a situation like this, Abi's thirst dominated her morale. It was best that she kept her distance lest the woman on the sidewalk be the only meal for Abigail in weeks. 9-1-1, the blonde dialed, receiving a busy signal. "What the hell?" Abi hung up and redialed, still getting a busy signal. She cursed once more as she hung up for the second time and held her breath.
At once she was at the woman's body once more. Forcing her lungs to remain still, Abigail bent down to check for a heartbeat. Faintly, a thump-a-thump continued in her frail chest. Her cracked head was still emitting blood as the blonde vampire elevated the woman's neck and pressed the head into her sweater to stop the bleeding. A twig cracked behind the scene and Abigail gasped. The quick breath felt like fire as the scent of the woman's blood penetrated through her body. Abi's onyx eyes grew wide at the thought of feeding, but instead the blonde dropped the woman on the wet cement and turned to look behind her.
