Ellis wanted to take Madalyn out on a date, but the very thought of Madalyn not knowing how to swim left him dazed beyond belief. But then then the thought of Madalyn laying in the hospital bed not remembering anything from her past except Danielle and himself made him rethink. Ellis dug through the bag that had all the new clothes in it, including a a nice bikini for when they just wanted to get out of the house one night and sneak to the beach, where they would lay in the sand and talk about who cared what. They'd walk the beach, fingers intertwined and kiss until the sky hit dawn. But that was only his fantasy. Ellis smiled at the piling thoughts. Ellis looked at the sleeping cub, perfect balance. He smiled again. Ever since he got his old power back, it made him feel like he was really at home. Everyone in the house seemed to have the aura of a white snowflake, and he loved it. He loved Madalyn. And his strange cat. "And do you take Madalyn to be your wife?" Ellis looked in Madalyn's eyes before nodding and finally spitting out the word "yes".
Ellis put on some trunks and pulled pants over them so when they got to the beach all he'd have to do was pull off the pants and it wouldn't be a struggle to actually teach her how to swim. Sure vampires didn't really need to breath. But he was afraid that she might panic at the thought of drowning and take in a deep breath full of water and....he gasped at the thought. He really needed to teach her before one day she decided to take a swim...without him there. He shuddered at the very thought of his wife dying. His wife? Where did that come from. He smiled suddenly forgetting the thoughts of Madalyn...thoughts were back. He was so confused today, which wasn't like him. He was usually a little...off, but not confused. What was wrong with him today. He put on a sullen face, he thought about the volturri and Heather, she loved to mess with him, make him confused, either she was around, or the thought of the wedding......frightened him. Not for him, but for both of them. NO! He quickly ran upstairs, hearing a voice, like singing, was that Madalyn or a radio. He slowed. His brows burrowed in taking in the voice. And so the mermaid who couldn't swim could sing...

She was quite pleased with the fact that Ellis had come to his senses and decided to take her on a real and proper date. Of course, he came to that conclusion only after she asked him, but that was okay, right? After all, this was the 21st century and girls could ask out boys. Though, still most boys asked out the girls, but whatever. They never really were exactly a normal couple, were they? Madalyn was puttering around outside. She figured that she needed to somehow give back to nature because she was taking so much away from it by drinking from animals. She couldn’t magically grow a baby bear or something, but the smallest things helped. So, she had procured a gardening book and was working on making the gardens at their house pretty. It seemed that neither Ellis nor his sisters did much with the gardens, aside from making sure the grass didn’t grow insanely long. Maddi found some comfort in the flowers; they were so vibrant and full of life. She could see every little detail on each petal, and that along was breath taking. When she was down for the time being, she took a quick shower to rid herself of the dirt.
She hummed to herself softly in the shower as she shampooed her hair, then as she dried herself off she began to sing a soft little lullaby. It had recently come back to her memory, as did some of the pieces of her human life. Every once and awhile something would just pop into her head as if it had always been there. The lullaby was not one her mother sang her; she couldn’t remember her mother being with her whenever she fell asleep. One of her more permanent nurses had sung it to her while she was a child. She wandered from the bathroom to the bedroom and threw on some shorts and a tank top. She could hear Nala sleeping peacefully and Ellis puttering around doing whatever it was that Ellis did when he wasn’t around her. As she exited the bedroom she saw Ellis come towards her rather quickly. She stopped singing and giggled, reaching up to place a delicate hand on his cheek. ”Excited about something?” she asked, amused. He did have a lot of dramatic potential, that boy. Not that she minded, often. She dropped her hand with a smile and looked up into his beautiful golden eyes. Everything about him was just so perfect, it almost fun. ”What are you up to?” she wondered, eying him suspiciously.

Ellis smiled at his fiancé’s question. “I wanted to teach you how to swim. If that’s okay with you” Ellis wanted to grab Madalyn and hug her. It was just something about her. She hadn’t did anything, she was just her, and she saw him as a normal person. She always knew he was different, but in a good way, right. Her aura told it all. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “Here” Ellis said handing her the bikini. He thought it might look sexy on her. He sighed again He promised her “Fine no more sex then”. What was he thinking? Oh yeah, he was thinking about the good of their relationship. He didn’t want their relationship to revolve around sex, all his past ones did, Madalyn was special and she deserved better than that. A date every once in a while, and hug and a small kiss before the night ended and forged into a new one without the thought of slumber. His phone rang, the ring tone of Mozart. He picked up. “Hello…” there was speaking from the other end, Layla and Ashley’s voices rang through the receiver. Layla was screaming as Ashley spoke as fast as the human ear could hear. He looked out the window, the sun glared at a twenty degree angle, full moon. Layla was turning into a vampire tonight, just as Ellis used to go human on the full moon and new moan. He growled every time he heard his sisters cries.
“Can’t you…” Ashley cut him off again. “I’m not coming. Tell Layla I’m sorry but I do have a wi- fiancé to attend to. Layla and you have been keeping me away from her in the last two weeks. It’s annoying now. I’ll get to Layla later, but you act like you’ve never helped her through the two hour change. Big deal” Ellis was being really harsh but he wanted Madalyn, at least for today and tomorrow. He wanted the weekend with her. “I love you too. Tell Layla I owe her brother sister day…yes you too. I’ll buy you whatever you want…let me speak to her…YES I KNOW SHE IN PAIN…I KNOW…I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW” Ellis’s British accent clung all over the place with each word. Screams came form the receiver. “Her baby girl…” more screams “I can’t come I’m sorry…can you make the night without me” he got a screaming ‘I’ll try’, he smiled and said “Okay, I love you…bye” Her flipped the side kick down and looked at Madalyn. “I’m yours” Ellis said hugging her.

”I can’t swim,” she said, shaking her head. ”But whatever. Godspeed to you if you can,” she said, laughing lightly. Personally, she thought it was a lost cause. Weren’t you not supposed to teach an old dog new tricks? Not that she was a dog, nor was she actually really or. But you get the point. All the power to him if he could. Madalyn smiled up at Ellis he kissed his neck gently. She took the bikini and looked at blankly for a moment. ”Do this actually cover anything?” she asked, more so mumbling to herself but Ellis could fully hear her. She was too busy observing the bathing suit that she almost didn’t notice what he said next. She looked at him with her golden eyes, then burst out laughing. ”Yeah, sure,” she rolled her eyes. ”Let’s see how long that one lasts.” She was fairly certain neither of them wanted that. Of course, she still wanted him, but she also wanted normality. Meaning, she wanted them to act like a ‘normal’ couple. You know, dates and such. Not just sex all the time. But that didn’t mean none at all. He could be dramatic at times, couldn’t he? Oh well. It was one of his quirky things that she absolutely loved about him. Madalyn raised her eyebrows at the people talking over themselves on the phone and went to go put on the bathing suit instead.
It wasn’t exactly rocket science to put on a bikini, but she might as well been wearing waterproof undergarments. Her cheeks would have been bright pink at the moment if they could have been. She looked at herself in the mirror; she was still too thin. Stupid hospital. Frowning slightly, she put on a pair of shorts and a tank top. She would take them off when they actually got to the water. She could hear Ellis’ conversation and frowned slightly. When she came back out, she looked at him for a moment. ”Are you sure you don’t want to be with her? I mean, she is going through something hard,” she said. She smiled weakly at his promise, but she felt really bad. His sister was in pain, meanwhile she was hogging him. She sighed and took his hand to lead him outside. ”Where are we going?” she asked. Well, she didn’t exactly know her way around town. She still got lost in the house sometimes. Spaz. ”I’m assuming we can just get there ourselves?” meaning, no need for a car. She did have flip flops on, and she could run in those. She looked up. It was cloudy. She grumbled a few profanities at the sky but then sighed. At least the sun couldn’t reveal what they were. ”Come on, you’ve got me all excited,” she said, finally smiling. She wanted to swim. Well, even though she couldn’t.

Ellis smiled and held Madalyn's arms firmly in his grasp. "Listen. I'm going to tell you my...fantasy...calling it a dream would be a understatement." Ellis didn't let her go. "We would drive down to the beach where I'd teach you how to swim until you finally scream 'Ellis I'm doing it, I'M DOING IT', while you turn around in circles in the water wondering where I swam off to. After the third spin you see I'm not in the water anymore but on the sand sitting on the beach towels clapping from a distance being sure you heard me. You'd smile back at me with the twinkle in your eyes liek a little girl who just learned how to ride a bike for the first time..." ELlis paused. "YOu do know how to ride a bike right? Never mind" Ellis let her go but grabbed her hand. No more phasing, yay him. He waled and talked with her. Even though he did most of the talking. "You'd smirk at me and bit frustrated that I left you there and you'd swim back to shore, greatly if I may add, and you'd sit next to me. I'd go in our picnic basket and...what the-" Ellis looked down to a cub's tail brushed along his leg. "A baby cub does not pop out of the basket in my fantasy, and it won't happen here either. " Ellis chuckled. She cat mad a mee uf offuff sound and ran up the stairs. Quickly too.
Ellis continued on his story. "I'd pull out to wine...but not jsut any wine.. the bloodiest wine in north America. And when say bloody I'm not speaking with British slang... I mean it. It's blood and wine mixed. It's quite great if I say so myself." Ellis continued to tell his dream as he stuffed everything they may need in a bag. He really dreamed this sometimes. He wanted this more than anything... "How about we drive-" Ellis would say her surprise now. Wedding gift really. "Your new convertible" Ellis smiled.

There he went again. Wasn’t the girl in the relationship the one that was supposed to be all overcome and smitten by lovey stuff and fantasies? She wasn’t sure, but maybe Ellis was just the girl in the relationship. Though, Madalyn didn’t seem very manly. Did that make her a lesbian? Naw. He was just the girl, haha. But she oddly found that amusing. It was part of his charm. ”Err…no,” she said. ”When would I ever have had the time to ride a bike, anyways?” she pointed out. Yes, having tubes and needles stuck into you made bike riding very easy. She figured with her new vampire speed anyways she didn’t need a vehicle other than her legs and maybe a car to blend in with the humans. ”Aww, poor Nala,” Madalyn laughed. Fine then…sleeping is more fun anyways… Madalyn laughed lightly at Nala’s thoughts and watched as the animal sauntered away. ”I think you’ll have to get her a toy or something,” she said. It was either that or listen to Nala talk about how strange Ellis was. Though, that was pretty damn amusing if she did say so herself.
”May not be British slang in this terms, but your British accent makes it pretty damn sexy,” she grinned. Even when he was talking about God knows what and rambling on, it was okay because it sounded delicious. Madalyn’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. ”You…got…me…a…car?” she stuttered out. Well, that was something she never had before. She didn’t even know how to drive! OH WAIT HE DIDN”T KNOW THAT. Madalyn grinned at her own thoughts and the idea of driving just excited her. She took his hand and happily ran out of the house and saw a shiny new car on the driveway. ”Oh my God,” she mumbled under her breath. How the hell did he even afford that? Jesus. ”Wow, Ellis, I…wow. Thank you,” she said happily, kissing him excitedly, but quickly stopping so she could go over to the car. ”Can I have the keys?” she asked hopefully, a bright smile on her face. Driving cars always looked like fun. She was practically jumping up and down; she was so giddy with excitement.

Ellis smiled as her lips pressed against his in the most pleasant way. She baked off... pleasant gone. He shrugged it off and smiled. She walked with her outside. Her grip was strong... really strong. He bit his lip to keep back the pain... THE PAIN? Was she seriously hurting him. Oh well, he'd let her have her way with him... for now anyway. She asked for the keys. He went through the duffle-bag and sought for the keys. He heard the jingling from the bottom of the bag. Like extremely loud bells. He took them out, jingled them and smirks. He tossed the keys at her and the thought never occurred to him if she could drive or not. He eyes grew wide. It was too late now. I mean what could happen. They crash, so? They live and only a thousand dollars would go out the door, not that big of a deal right? Ellis chuckled. Then he went back to the bike comment. Oh yeah, they were going to die... well in theory anyway.
Ellis chuckled at his thoughts. The red car shimmered and sparkled on one of those rare sunny days that La Push or Forks never got. He sighed. He'd have to make the best of the time they had before the rain decided to...well... rain on their parade. Ellis bit on his bottom lip and rolled his eyes in a playful manner as he walked towards her car. Her chuckled as he thought her car. He had his escalade and she had her car. No problems. No one had to take anyone anywhere.

Ahhhhhh, carrrrrr. She had a car! Madalyn was so excited that she didn’t even pay attention to the fact that she’d probably rip Ellis’ arm out of its socket if she wasn’t careful. Psh. Arms. What use were they? Besides, she could always drive him around. Madalyn was nearly bouncing with anticipation as he looked for the keys. ”Come on, this is torture. Don’t tell me you’ve lost the keys already,” she said impatiently, a smile wide on her painfully beautiful face. ”Yay!” Madalyn said happily as she caught the keys with perfect reflexes. She pressed a button and the car horn honked. She jumped back, not expecting that, and pressed another button. This time she heard the clicking of the car doors, the locks opening inside. She had to be careful not to rip the hinges off the car door, and she managed to get inside the driver’s seat without breaking anything. That was good. She’d figured Ellis would be fairly pissed off if she broke the new car right away. Which is why she wasn’t going to tell him about her lack of driver’s license.
Madalyn rolled down the window and popped her head out. ”Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get in,” she said, fidgeting in her seat. Ellis took too long. Boo. Once Ellis was inside she strapped on the seat belt for good measures. Now, she had seen her sister drive and Danielle had explained to her the basics. Key in the ignition, turn it til the engine is on, gas and brake pedals, and of course how to get the best radio station. ”I don’t know where you want to go, so you’ll have to tell me directions as we go, I guess,” Madalyn shrugged. There was no way she was letting him drive her. She wanted to drive. Grr. Madalyn found a station with decent enough music but turned the volume down low. Getting distracted was probably not a good thing. She turned it on with no problems and slowly backed out. Suddenly there was a thud, and Madalyn cursed under her breath. She kept driving, however, and when they were down the road she could see their recycling bin on it’s side. At least it wasn’t crushed. That meant no damage to the car. Yet.

Ellis smiled at his bride to be. What was he going to do with her. Shewas getting excited over a car that probably coast less than was in his pocket right now on that black platinum card that felt like boulders there. He was loaded with money but did he really think buying Madalyn would make up for the mistakes that he's made with her. He doesn't regret anything with her, no not at all. But sometimes he just caught that feeling in his stomach like there was something more with them, something more to her. SOmething that he quite couldn't put his finger on. It made her who she was, someone unique and dazzling. With her being in a hospital bed basically her whole life, there had to be more purpose to her. Just somthing. And for her to have eternity, she could make up the life that she didn't have and more. He smiled. He gave her something that only they could give away. Imortality.
Ellis sighed out a chuckle when he got in the car. "We're going strait to the beach ducky." Ellis smiled. I thought you knew where it was. You used to run there with me...it was only like a month ago. We don't forget much...we don't forget anything. You should know" Ellis smirked sarcastically. And what he said was true. They really didn't forget much. He looked her in the eye and studied the glow of her body. That white aura that would never go away. He sighed again, smiled a bit wide for the joy that expressed his love for her. To think he'd be spending the rest of his life with her. A family..two sisters, a wife...no kids. Seemed fine to him. He was cool with this.
"Whoa. Maddi. We're barely backed out yet. How did you manage to bump us" Ellis laughed. "Remember this. Without you, I'd be sad lonely and with many cats." Ellis smirked at looked away. Then he looked back..."Maybe not lonely. But with you, my date after date...after date...after...you get it. I won't have to do that anymore. I've found my everything. Now...ease up on the clutch and put it in reverse. Pull out slowly and put it in drive. Can you do that for me love?" Ellis smiled basically feeling like he were in drivers ED all over again nearly eighty years ago. When a man was 247 years old you tend to knw alot about driving...or alot about everything. Alomost everthing.

Madalyn kinda felt like an idiot at the moment, but she frankly didn’t care. She was a happy idiot, so it was all good. She had a man that loved her and she loved back, and right now it seemed like he’d give her the world if he could. Of course, there were sucky things in her life, a lot of them at that, but right now she was going to focus on Ellis and her happiness with him. That’s what really mattered to her. Madalyn smiled and bit her lip. Ducky? She loved that. If she could, she’d be blushing like a tomato. ”Yeah, but I didn’t know which beach. There could be a dozen near here, I have no clue,” she pointed out. Hence why she asked in the first place. ”Are there a lot of beaches around here?” she asked on a second thought. She hadn’t really seen any others, but then again, she never really looked before, nor had she a reason to ask.
”I know we don’t forget things,” she laughed. ”But maybe I just don’t have as sharp a memory as you do, you old fart,” she teased. Madalyn did remember the way to the beach, thankfully. She didn’t need Ellis to be her personal GPS system or anything. She might have to slap him if he did that, anyways. Madalyn avoided looking at Ellis, but couldn’t stop a slight grin from forming on her face. ”I didn’t bump anything. You’re imagining it. Maybe you should go to a vamp doctor or something,” she grinned. Psh. Silly boy. Now he was going crazy. Insert shifty eyes here. But Madalyn was sure that she was not going to hit anything else. Of course, if only the car could make that promise, then the world would be safe. But really, if the world was supposed to be safe from her, he wouldn’t have gotten her a car. So it was cool.
”Yeah, not to mention without me you wouldn’t know what the cats were thinking,” she said. How would he know when they thought he was being weird? What a shame that would be. ”I would like to think you would miss me if I suddenly vanished,” she said, wanting to stick her tongue out at him, but figuring it would be best to keep her untrained eyes on the road. Okay, wait, this time she did have to stick her tongue out at him. She felt so light and happy, so giddy right now. She almost felt like a little kid, but one that could drive. Or attempt to drive. Huh. ”Yes, yes I can,” she said, doing what he told her to. She was probably a bit crappier of a driver than most, but then again, she’d never driven anything before. Seeing as she hadn’t ran anyone over, she figured she was doing a good job. Using her memory she began to drive to the beach. ”So, how do you think I’m doing so far?” she asked. It probably would be better if she wasn’t driving 20 kilometres an hour, but whatever. They were immortal; did they really need to rush anywhere?

Ellis smirked at her then shook his head. "No. No, there's only one beach last time I checked" Ellis chuckled at her. Unless one just magically appeared on the front of Washington, First Beach...is the only beach." Ellis chuckled again. That would be a great sign to put right in front of the beach. The wasn't the right thing to think about at that very moment. he sighed and leaned his arm against the door handle rest and leaned back. He was actually pretty relaxed, and Madalyn seemed to know what she was doing... for now. he smiled and looked at her from the corner of his eye. So beautiful, yes she was. There was no one else like her. Her white aura pulsed a little with a red, making it a baby pink. She was excited, but that white of balance would never vanish away from her. He loved her so much. Out of the blue and closed his eyes and just said. "I love you" Ellis whispered.
He chuckled. "Old fart huh? Your in love with this old fart...and this old fart is in love with you. Sometimes so much it hurts. But in a good way of course" Ellis smiled and continued to look at her from the corner of his eye. He arched an eye-brow. "Am I imagining. Did you not just bump your car." Ellis made a face and smile. "Wait a minute. Your car...you can do whatever you want with it" Ellis chuckled. He cranked the chair back and pretended to sleep. "Have fun with it" Plus the only vamp docs as a sour pain in my ass...in Italy. They're not the ones to help anyway." Ellis said takinga joke to a serious gesture.
"Oh yeah. Or dogs, or birds. Or..oh yes...OUR PREY!" Ellis said sarcastically. He smiled. "But then again, that makes it easily. If you can talk to them...you can tell them how it was be quick and painless" Ellis shrugged..."You'd be lying though" Ellis smirked and shrugged again. Ellis's eyes flashed open and he looked at her eyes ablaze. "Please don't talk liek that. I don't want to imagine a life...without you." Ellis was so serious. He was breathing heavy and his eyes were wide. "I...please. Just don't talk like that. Do say things that horrible. I can't...please" Ellis bit his lip and looked away. He ran a hand through her hair and smiled. He stroked her cheek and took it away quickly. He didn't want to distract her. "And your doing fine...I heard Mr. and Mrs. Snail will beat us hear. You hear animals thoughts. Can't you hear them" Ellis laughed low and smiled at her.

”Well then, I know where we’re going,” she said. Though wouldn’t it be nice if all of a sudden, BAM there was another beach? Yeah, she figured it would be nice. A bit of a change of pace. But they’d have to move in a few years anyways. If people saw Danielle grow up, they’d wonder why the hell her twin sister was still looking like she was seventeen. But she didn’t want to think about that right now. ”I think it would be nice if that happened though,” she laughed. Plus it would probably aid Ellis in his surprise more. But that was okay, she was still surprised enough. Madalyn’s eyes drifted away from the road and over to Ellis. She smiled contently and a grinned tugged at her lips. ”I know,” she replied, trying to stop herself from laughing. She didn’t tease people often, mostly cause she didn’t know many people, but Ellis was always fun to bug. ”I love you, too,” she replied with a brighter grin a minute later.
”Ellis, consider this. You’re a senior citizen once you pass 55 or something, so I think you’re a senior about four times over by now,” she laughed and rolled her golden eyes. Wow, she really was in love with an old fart. ”What can I say? It seems I have a thing for older men,” she said. Well, apparently. Except, not really any old man in particular, ew. Just Ellis. ”Nope, never happened. Car is fine, non-existent thing I didn’t bump is fine,” she said. Back away, boy, there was no way he was getting to drive this car before she even got to bring them to one place. She could totally get them there in one piece. Now, that was just promising them. She couldn’t promise that the car would get there in one piece. But she would keep that little thought away from Ellis. Her over-dramatic fiance loved to be, well, over-dramatic, and he mind just take away the car if he got thoughts in his head.
”Ha, damn straight,” she grinned happily. See, it was her car. Her, her, her car. Ellis couldn’t take it away from her. ”Besides, you take away my car, I take away something you love,” she said. She looked at him and gave him a sly grin. Yes, that. She was a sneaky little player. Then again, she never really could take that away for long. She did think he was ridiculously attractive, after all. ”Oh, we’ll be fine. After all, if they let Sarah Palin drive a car and shoot a gun, no one should stop me from driving. I’m better than Britney Spears already,” she said. Ha! Two pop culture references. See, she was getting more in touch with the world. Yay for Madalyn! Not that she really gave a crap about whatever these celebrities did, but that was besides the point.
”Well, I’m sorry. I can’t help it that that is what my power allows me to do. I’m sure you didn’t want to fall through the floor the first time you discovered your other power,” she pointed out. ”And anyways, I don’t want to hear the thoughts of my dinner. It makes me sad,” she frowned. She shook her head and looked out at the road in front of her. ”They don’t really understand what that means. I’ve tried,” she sighed. They just sort of saw them as the vicious predators they were. Animals were smarter than humans. There he was, all dramatic again. She smiled and bit her lip to stop herself from laughing. ”Ellis, I’m not going anywhere, I promise,” she said, and just as she finished her last word she ran into a stop sign. Well, at least she stopped. She quickly jumped out of the car, straightened it with her vampire strength, jumped back in and sped off. ”Good as new,” she choked out. Never any damage done. Nope, didn’t happen. Madalyn stuck her tongue out at him and pressed her foot down on the gas. She doubled the speed, actually reaching what appeared to be the legal limit. ”Better, smartypants?”

Ellis smiled at her comments, especially that last one. He loved her more than anything, and he wasn't ever goingto let her forget it. He went in the duffle bag and pulled out a CD. It was his most favortie one from this century. Kate Nash. She wasn't British, but she was pretty close to it, which was excelent in his book. She was English. "I think we need some music, don't you?" Ellis said before slipping the CD into the player. He missed casset tapes, he definately missed albums, but he was just guessing they were a thing ofthe past. Ashley and Layla had been telling him to sell them because they'd be worth a lot now. But have gave them both a no, one becuase with him money was no object. And one day he wanted to actually go and listen to them while he was alone. Alone time was never so bad, right? He still had the player too, up in the attic. So he'd do just that.
"3.945455 times over actually." Ellis said doing the math so quickly in his head he'd be kicked out a 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader' so fast he wouldn't have the time to say it. "Or just 45 times over after you divide 215 by 5 and add two...you get 45. But that's just me being strait forward" Ellis said matter 'o factly then shrugging it off. Ellis sang along to Kate's 'Stitching Leggings'. She cursed a lot. But he thought it was funny. "And other times I don't. When most of the time I just think that, I'm lucky that I don't have all the power in the world, so I can't fuck everything else up" Ellis sang along, sounding better than Kate herself, accents matching and mocking at the same pace and time. It sounded wonderful really. He wanted to meet her one day, she was just so...different. He stopped singing at looked at her. "Men over two hundred years old, oh yeah, you've got a keeper" Ellis chuckled and continued to sing.
Ellis laughed. "Good point. Bad examples. Britney...Spears is it. I heard wasn't a bad driver just a bad mother" Ellis said. he referred back to his own mother. Staring off into space. The mother his very own father killed. His vampire devil of a father. Still living today, the father him and his sisters would find and kill one day. Layla was more of this time, but she still had her fathers blood, their fathers blood. After Ellis told Layla that she had been lied to all those years, about her being normal, and why he actually ran away, she swore she'd help find and destroy him. He wanted that more than anything. Madalyn though...knew nothing of it now that he thought about it. The music faded back in as she spoke. "Oh Sorry" Ellis said lookign strait ahead.
Ellis shook his head and chuckled. "I think that ability was just a phase. I think after you bit me my new genes went searching for another link and didn't fit my new body, so it stuck with the old ability. Thank the Lord though" Ellis said then looked out the window. A frown tugged at his mouth. "I'm sorry that that is the way that you feel, but you have to understand...it's either the humans...or the animal. You don't want to fuck with the Volturi" Ellis caught his curse slip. His was hearing Kate and speaking at the same time. "Excuse my language." Ellis cleared his throat then smiled at her. "Besides. They're in a better place now, taking on new life and trees and other things that I read in a life style book at some point in my time." Ellis looked off and actually tried to understand why he read the book in the first place. "I know...sort of but...LOOK OUT!" Ellis was too late and the car was against a stop sign. He glared at Madalyn as she got out the car and tugged out the dent. His eyes went wide. "Madalyn. Did you even look to see if anyone was looking." Ellis said turning in his seat and listening for any heartbeats, foot steps or any other sign of a human...or other creature. "And yes," Ellis said still looking. "Yes it is better, little miss slow poke" Ellis chuckled settling back in his seat and turning up the music a little more.

Madalyn wanted to see what he was putting in, but she figured for the safety of every single person that was not currently inside of the car, she should keep her eyes on the road. She wasn’t doing too horrible. Driving inside of the lines proved to be somewhat of a challenge sometimes, but she always noticed right away. She never did like colouring inside of the lines, either. ”Sure. Let’s a get a monkey and some fireworks too. Distracting things are fun,” she said sarcastically, though smiled genuinely at Ellis. True, she probably shouldn’t have been listening to music the first time she was driving, but after all it was good music so she figured there was probably an exception to that rule. ”This is good,” Madalyn said, wanting to cover her ears a bit. ”Can you turn it down, though?” she asked. She still hadn’t quite gotten used to everything about being a vampire yet. The smells were sometimes overwhelming that she wanted to plug her nose, and the sounds made her want to wear ear plugs. She supposed she could wear blindfolds, but that would be slightly more annoying.
Madalyn looked at Ellis for a moment, almost wanting to throw a rotten piece of pie at his head. All this math suddenly started creeping into her head and numbers started to dance about. It was enough to make a girl want to heave up her lunch. Well, maybe not in Madalyn’s case, but whateves. Madalyn looked at Ellis, blinked, then looked back at the road. ”Math is disgusting,” she said somewhat bitterly. Math could just go die now. Madalyn couldn’t help but crack a smile. She didn’t think he was as good as he thought he was, but she wasn’t going to burst his bubble. Then she’d be a failance. Get it? Fail-fiance? Oh, don’t I just crack you up? All lame jokes aside, if this is what she had to look forward to the rest of her non-life, then she was pretty damn pleased. ”It’s a good thing people over 200 years old are so hard to find, otherwise you might have some competition,” she teased. Naw, she’d never care about anyone else. Unless maybe Chace Crawford wanted to come and be with her forever. Nope, no one else.
Madalyn laughed out loud and rolled her eyes. ”True, she probably has someone driving for her anyways,” she smiling, though she was kind of frowning inside. Madalyn had had so much chemo when she was a human that it was impossible for her to have children. She knew vampires couldn’t, but it sucked to know that even as a human she still would not be able to do that one thing for Ellis. ”Huh, what?” she asked when Ellis’ voice brought her back down to earth. She was still thinking about how much more lucky Danielle was. She could have kids, she could have a life, she could have hopes and dreams. She wasn’t trapped being a vampire. Lucky girl; she always had been the lucky one. ”Apparently we space out at the same time,” she laughed somewhat weakly. Wait, weren’t you supposed to not space out when you were driving? Probably not, but she didn’t kill anyone. Wait. Madalyn quickly checked her rearview mirror to see that she had not hit anyone. Good job, she figured.
”So you’re back to seeing dead people?” she joked. She fully knew that he saw auras, rather than dead people, but he was fun to bother. ”From my knowledge, they eat humans and would probably be okay with it,” she pointed it. ”Not that I want to eat humans either.” She sighed. This really was a curse, wasn’t it? Ellis seemed much more comfortable with being a vampire; maybe it was one of those things that just took time to get used to. She heard Ellis scream before it was too late. Ooopsie. Madalyn was frantic when she returned to the car and wanted to slap him. ”Don’t get mad at me! I don’t even know how to drive!” she said frantically, almost wanting to hyperventilate. Madalyn glared right back at him and continued on their way to the beach. It was a good thing it was cloudy today. Two sparkling people on the beach often tended to confuse people. Once they finally arrived, she was quite glad to see that they had arrived in one piece, and so had the car. She parked it only a tiny bit crookedly in a parking space, far away from other cars just to be safe, and then got out of the car. She looked around a bit and waited for Ellis. She hadn’t been to a beach before and frankly the idea of drowning did not sound fun. Not that she could drown, but she could almost experience it.
