EMBRY call
[/right] It seemed like she hadn't walked the rocks of the cliffs in forever. The inclines, and steep falls. The gentle cuts on the bottom of her feet that healed within seconds, and the salty wind blowing though her blonde hair, making her tresses wave a little more than normal. Serena walked around on the cliffs, hopped from one rock to the other, and seemed to be deep in thought. This was a side of herself that people rarely saw. Because she was usually so bubbly and happy, moving at a hundred miles and hour, and only stopping to smile and wave at someone she knew. Now, she was pondering on what to do with her life and if she wanted to become part of a pack or not. Sure, she loved the feeling of being wherever she wanted, at whatever time she wanted to be there. But in a pack, there were more rules and you had your specific group you had to stick with. Did she really want to do that? Or did she value the freedom too much? Serena was so lost that she forgot to control her emotions. Her hands started to vibrate and with her next leap, she almost smashed a rock to pieces. Oops... Taking a few breaths in and out, she moved on from that thought, which oddly did set her off, and thought about those people she missed so much. Being single now was actually quite painful on her light heart. There was no one to hold her when she was sad, make her feel loved when the world came crashing down, and just make her feel special in any way possible. Was there anyone in the world that was going to make her feel this way again? Or was she doomed to be in an everlasting pain that will rip her apart inside? Starting to tear up, she thought about her one and only best friend, Embry. Where was he when she needed him the most?[/size][/blockquote]

embry's paws stepped carefully into the dirt as he walked around the forest patrolling. he was alone today so he had a lot of time to himself to just think. even though it got boring sometimes embry didn't mind patrolling alone. it was one of the only times he had to himself to just think and plan. but of course he wished leah was here with him, he didn't get to see her as much as he wanted. embry tried to fit in her and his friends into his busy schedule but it seemed more difficult then he thought. he stopped for a moment and lay his head on his paws as he lost himself in his thoughts. he smelt another werewolf but he wasn't sure where it was coming from.
he stopped and sniffed a bit more, he knew that scent anywhere. embry started to run very excited, he hadn't seen serena in so long. everything he spent a lot of time with her she would always disappear and come back later on. it was very hard to keep track of serena but he did his best. and whenever she was nearby he made sure to take advantage of that and spend as much time with her as he could. he found where his clothes were hidden and quickly phased back in a matter of seconds before pulling on his clothes. phasing was so simple now that he was use to it, in the beginning he was always worried that he would get stuck in between or in wolf form. but after a while he got use to it and by now it just took a couple of seconds. and he always had pretty good control over his emotions so he never had to worry about phasing in public.
embry rushed through the woods trying to get to serena as fast as he could before he missed her. he slowed down when he was nearby the cliffs and he smiled when he noticed her. she didn't notice him walking towards her so he attempted to be quiet until he could have sworn he saw a tear. " now the serena i know is always happy " he said knowing that to be true. she was always smiling and having a great time, he wasn't use to seeing her this way. but hopefully she would be hopping around with a smile on her face soon. finally getting to her embry wrapped his arms around his best friend glad to finally see her again.

No. She wasn't going to start this again. There are better ways to deal with this nonsense.
Trying to gain her composure, Serena closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Blinking away the unnecessary moisture in her eyes, she noticed something. There was a familiar smell in the air. What was it though? She couldn't quite place it, but it was so familiar. She started going through all the people that she knew that might have a scent even remotely close to it. But it was like that one word you couldn't spit out. She just couldn't place it!
Then that deep voice met her ears and everything she was building up came crumbling down. It was Embry. Her absolute best friend, who she seemed to abandon consantly. But, no matter how many times Serena left, he would always find her again. And she tried to smile, she really did. But one tiny tear escaped from her eye instead, so she was left to sigh. "I know. Maybe that Serena is somewhere." And a small smile tugged at her lips. That sparkle in her eye lit up for a moment, then just went back to being dim again.
With him wrapping his arms around her though, it was all broken. Like hugging your mom when you were trying not to cry. You ended up bawling anyways. Serena turned in his grasp and embraced him herself. She buried her face in his shoulder and sobbed softly. And with another deep breath, she pulled away and looked up at him. "I'm sorry I left again. I missed you though, so you're special." And like every other joke she made to Embry, she smiled and laughed. It was like she was herself again, and she lit up with her own laugh. [/blockquote]

a few tears fell down her face and embry hoped he'd be able to keep her smiling. he didn't like to see his friends unhappy and tried his best to keep that from happening. " well we should go find her " he said watching as a smile came and left just as fast. he was definitely not going to let serena stay this way for long, he wanted the old one the one that always had a smile glued to her face.
but as soon as he wrapped his arms around her she started to cry into his shoulder. he held her closer waiting for her to finish crying. at least she could let all her tear out instead of keeping them in. embry wanted to know what could make her feel this bad but he decided to wait until later to bother her with questions. for now he was just keen on getting her back to normal.
" don't leave again " he told her sternly pretending to be annoyed. then with a small grin he added, " i'm glad we found your old self again ". the smile she had on was just like herself, always happy and ready to do something fun. embry took a seat on a rock and patted the one next to him for her to sit down. " so where have you been all this time? " he asked curiously. embry wanted to know what serena was up to when she left, the last time they hung out was at the beach and everything seemed fine then until she just went and left.
( sorry my post sucks im out of muse :( )

[das okayy. (:]
It was so nice to finally have someone that was actually going to listen to her. And not just pretend to listen to get closer to her. She hated those people that pretended to be her friends just because she looked pretty and would 'raise the status' of those that she hung out with. Serena was a werewolf with no pack for a reason. She loved the freedom. The one thing she hated more than anything were those people that wanted her around all the time just so she could make them look good. Whatever. She was better than that.
Then there was Embry. Who only wanted to be her friend. Helped her when she needed it, and always wanted to see her genuinely smile. And finally, she was. Serena nodded. "I don't plan on leaving again. It was rather lonely." Serena hated being on her own. There was no one to talk to, no one that would randomly run to the ends of the earth with her. It was the worst feeling in the world to be all alone.
With the smile still on her lips, she nodded her head a little. "Oh, my real self is always in there somewhere." And when he let her go, Serena felt the need to start running again. Be on the move and go somewhere. But she wasn't going to do that to Embry again. And after all, she had just gotten back. Why not stay a while? So, she accepted the invitation to have a seat beside him and skipped over to the rock, letting her sundress sway with her steps and her hair flow behind her.
As she plopped down beside Embry, Serena let out a small sigh. "Well, mostly running. Seeing the world. Well, only the US, because I obviously can't go overseas. But it was quite an adventure. That's why my legs look so amazing." She giggled as she showed off her newly muscled legs. All that exercise actually gave her some new muscles. Maybe she oughta do that more often. After all, all the male werewolves around here looked like massive bodybuilders. "What about you, Embry?" Serena reached over and messed up his hair. It was always messy in the first place, but she always liked messing it up even more. "What have you been doing around here lately?" She knew that Leah was going to be the main subject, which was fine. But Serena had this odd feeling that Leah didn't like her very much, which was weird. They used to be the best of friends, like she was now with Embry. Or wait...was that the problem? [/blockquote]

( argh, sorry for another bad post embry's muse is dying D: )
" good, cause i'm not letting you leave again " embry told her. he was glad to hear that she wasn't leaving again. he didn't think he'd be able to handle her leaving again, he was always worrying that something may happen when she was gone too long. but if she ere to leave again it be nice for her to leave a note of some sort so that he wouldn't have to worry as much as usual.
" well that's the part of you i want to see " he replied. embry was glad that she was smiling once more. now that she was back he needed to make up for lost time and spend time with his best friend. she took a seat next to him and he waited for her to explain where she'd been and what she'd been doing. he listened while she talked about running around the country. " yes they do " he said laughing along with her. all the running she did really did help get her some new muscle. but most wolves were pretty muscular seeing as though they all looked a lot older then they really were.
" trying to balance everything out " he told her honestly. he'd hadn't been spending enough time with his friends and he was hoping to change that. embry needed to reconnect with old friends and with his mother. he couldn't spend all his time with leah no matter how much he really wanted too. embry didn't want to be the type of couple that ditched all their friends and were pretty much always together. of course he loved leah but he loved being with his friends too, and he didn't think he could give up either.

[sorry, this took me forever]
Smiling, Serena caught that Embry was happy that she wasn't planning on leaving again. And really, she wasn't. There was no reason for her to leave. Usually when she did leave, it was because she was running away from something. Heartbreak, drama, another family fight...but this time, there was nothing to run away from, only something to run to. Friends. The ones that actually cared about her, and had been there since the beginning. Ones like Embry, because no matter what happened, he was always the first to find her and give her hell for disappearing on him again.
Serena knew that Embry wanted to hear about everything that was different from last time they talked, or if anything was new at all. But, she wasn't about to give up that easily. Yes, she supposed that meant that she was 'back', so to speak, but she always liked playing the game where you didn't get what you wanted just as easily as you thought you would. So, she just sat there and grinned, being happy that she was at her best friend's side once again. "Then that's the part you will see." She looked over at him an stuck out her tongue briefly. "Because I like being normal. Not all depressed and thinking about junk that makes me depressed." Serena hated it when she did that. Thought about things that turned her mood immediately sour and she ended up crying over a heartache that should be over and done with by now.
Usually, it was true, werewolves were more muscular than normal humans. The guys were ridiculously ripped, and the girls were beautifully toned. Sure, if they wanted bigger muscles they could work out and make them bigger. But with superhuman strength, why would appearance matter? Serena just liked how her legs looked so much better this way. Like she had achieved something. "Cool. I'll wear more dresses now to show them off." She giggled and hopped up from the rock to dance around a little. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair and her sundress flowing with her every step. Like she was a princess of sorts.
Feeling the honesty in Embry's voice, Serena calmed down quickly and resumed her seat next to him, but a little bit closer. "Are you okay?" She knew that he was, but she just had to check. Carefully, she examined his eyes and face, to see if there was any pain there. But all that she saw was a little bit of regret. Instantly, she understood. He knew that he spent a little too much time with Leah, and wanted to incorporate his friends a little more into his life. Like the way it was before. Serena sighed and wrapped her arms around him once again. "I'm sure you'll find the balance. You will." She nodded to herself and rested her head on his shoulder. If anyone could figure it out, it would be Embry. Well, she hoped anyways. [/blockquote]

serena seemed pretty sure about not needing to leave again but they'd had the conversation many times so it was going to take him a bit to make sure of it. and this time if she were to run away he'd probably run after her and drag her home not letting her out of his sight after. but he was hoping it wouldn't have to come to that, as long as serena was happy she wouldn't have a reason to run.
when she spoke she didn't give much detail but he was use to it seeing as though she usually made him work to get the information he wanted out of her. but he was always up for a challenge so he wouldn't mind playing her game for a bit longer until he finally got everything he wanted out of it. he stuck his tongue right back at her and it made him think of when they were kids always play fighting. things seemed to be so much easier back then, when they didn't have to worry about the pack or vampires eating up the towns folk. then again he'd probably wouldn't be as close as he was to most of the people in the town if he didn't have the pack connection he had now. " well youre not allowed to be depressed anymore " he told her. he didn't like to see his friends sad he wanted to make sure they always had a smiley on their face.
she hoped around dancing a bit and talked about wearing more dresses to show her legs off. embry smiled as he watched her, this was the happy and fun serena he grew up with. she sat back down next to him and then asked if he was okay. embry smiled and nodded he was okay he just needed to get his life back on track. and if that meant getting yelled at by his best friend until he forgave him then that's what he's going to do.
embry could still see quil's face as he talked about all the pain that he caused him. it really hurt embry whenever he thought about what he did to his best friend but he was making things right and hopefully there friendship would be better then ever. she wrapped her arms around him and he did the same wrapping an arm around her waist. " i hope so " he admitted as her head rested on his shoulder. it was going to take time that was for sure but he was determined. he already got serena back, and hopefully quil was still cooling off. embry just wanted everything to go back to normal and have his friends back in his life.

[this is going to suck, hardcore.]
Really and truly, Serena didn't want to have to leave again. Because after a while, she started to worry about what was going on back at home, and her body would get rather drained from all the running and not eating properly. And especially with this last runaway being a rather long one, she felt still a little weak, but was doing much better since the first day that she got back. And what made her feel even better was knowing that people missed her and worried alot everytime she went missing. It was wonderful to be loved.
And while she thought about it, Serena started to think about all the times that her and Embry had when they were younger. All the late nights talking, sneaking out after their parents had put them to bed to go and play at the playground...and all the times that they were there for each other to fall back on when something bad happened. Serena knew that they were very, very close. Like brother and sister, really. Which would explain staying over at each other's houses all the time. But she missed it alot. Now there were so many complications like the whole 'guy and girl shouldn't stay at each other's houses', Embry having a girlfriend now, and just the fact that there were so many more responsibilities. More than anything Serena wanted one of those late nights where they talked about the stupidest things ever, like betting how long it would take for a tree to get as tall as Serena's father. Yep, they were definitely close.
She smiled. "I try my best, you know. But sometimes...you just need to be sad for a second." Shrugging now, she swung her feet as she sat next to Embry, feeling his abnormal heat radiating from him. Of course, her skin was just the same, but this was like a 'human' moment, feeling the heat of another person. To a human, they would have crazy fevers. But to another werewolf, this was just a normal body heat. Serena had always wondered what it would have been like if Embry had imprinted on her rather than Leah. She would never know though, because Embry was always her sister, never a lover. Which was fine, because she loved being around him all the same. And she knew when something was wrong.
Seeing him have that pain in his eyes and the frustration in his face made her a little curious. Had something happened within the pack while she was gone? There was obviously something that she didn't know about, because this was starting to confuse the heck out of her. She nodded, and looked at Embry seriously. "Do you wanna tell me what's going on? Or do I have to attack it out of you?" Serena tensed up her muscles just for effect, seeing if he was going to play fight with her like they used to, or just talk to her like they should, being older now. But Serena smiled either way, and awaited his 'decision'. [/blockquote]

embry wished things could go back to normal at times. he wished that he didn't have to worry all the time about going on patrol and making sure nothing was wrong. and that he didn't have to lie to his mother each time he went out telling her he was going to a friends house when he was really spending his night wondering the woods. but even she knew something was up with all the ripped clothing and the dirt everywhere. even though she still trusted him and let him out when he had to go. it would just be so much easier to be a normal teen, but if they weren't the ones to do it then who would? but at least it wasn't as bad as some of the younger wolves who had to man up and face the responsibilities and leave their childhood behind. but there were so many perks with being a wolf that he wasn't sure he'd be able to give it up now that he had them. the pack was pretty much like a second family to him, seeing as though he only had his mother. and imprinting made the whole dating thing a lot easier when you find the person you were made for. but one of the things he missed the most was hanging out with his friends not having anything to worry about. he and serena did all sorts of things before, always out looking to have some fun. never having to worry about anything other then their plans for the next night. but now they had to worry about keeping people safe and making sure they did everything they needed to.
" well you can always do that here " he said. she did have a point when she talked about her being sad but he didn't want her to have to do it across the country. she could always come to him when she needed cheering up, he always had time to keep her from feeling down. even if he had other things in the way he would have to push them back for one of his oldest friends. the one who was always there for him when he needed her, the least he could do was help keep her happy.
serena of course was worried which he didn't want, he wanted to just enjoy having one of his best friends back in his life. he didn't want to cloud all that up with all of life's drama that he just wanted to get away with. but when she talked about attacking him it sparked an interest in him. it had been a while since he got to fight with serena and he definitely wasn't planning on passing that up. " you think you can take me? " he asked her with mock surprise. even though he already knew that she thought she could. but with all those new muscles of her maybe she would actually have a chance this time. " bring it on " he told her ready for anything that she would be able to throw at him.

Really, truly, and honestly, Serena was so happy that she was finally spending some time with Embry. They had always been really close with each other, and it was weird that they had suddenly been apart for so long. Usually, they were inseperable. Always seen together and laughing, telling jokes, poking fun...the way that the closest of friends always were. But it was Serena's fault that she hadn't seen him in so long. There was just something about the stress that always got to her and pushed her to just give up and run. Whenever things got hard, she would just be gone. It was her defence mechanism she thought. Maybe that was just how she worked. Whenever there was something that she just didn't want to see or deal with anymore, she would just leave it alone, and maybe it would fix itself. And why couldn't life just be easy? Everything just fall into place the way it should and nothing would ever be wrong? But, like her mother told her once, then life would be ridiculously boring and we wouldn't learn anything, because no mistakes would be made. But Serena hated the pain that came along with the mistakes, so she learned to avoid them altogether.
Sighing, she nodded. "I know, Embry. But, there is just something about leaving it all behind that makes it feel like it doesn't really exist anymore. And you kinda hope it will fix itself in time. I think alot when I run, if you haven't noticed." Serena looked at him a smiled, knowing that this was usually how she didn't talk. Or hadn't talked in a while. Usually she was comforting Embry and holding him while the tears streamed silently down his face or when he was so mad that he could have torn her to pieces. But she just sat there, and held him like a baby brother, until he was ready to tell her what was wrong. They were sibling pretty much, and Serena almost thought that Embry's mom was going to adopt her one day. Her parents wouldn't have liked that very much though. So they remained the best of friends. No one could tear them apart.
Finally, her old Embry came back to her when his face lit up and that smirk moved onto his face. This was who she missed, someone that would tackle her to the ground, laughing the whole time. It was how they got their feelings out and felt better. Hey, whatever helps, right? Nodding, Serena answered. "Oh you know I can." And she knew that those muscles that were slowly building on her would have given her a better chance then she had before, but knowing Embry, she was probably going to lose, like always. But that was okay, because he seemed to be happier that way. And Serena always got some practice with her fighting skills. Though she rarely fought. "Bringing it!" Serena shreaked with laughter and pounced at Embry, tackling to the ground with a thud. It was pretty much impossible to hurt him, since he was bigger, and a werewolf, but in the back of her mind she kinda worried about the marks she could leave on him. Couldn't you imagine the story behind that scar? [/blockquote]

it felt just like old times just sitting here with serena talking. he wasn't too of a fan of the topic of conversation though. he didn't like thinking of her leaving and him not able to just walk over to her house when he wanted to talk. he liked to think that they would always be there for each other and that neither of them were going to leave anytime soon. even though it seemed like lately they've seemed to be going different ways he opened they would be able to keep their friendship intact. she was one of his best friends and he definitely wanted her in his life.
embry didn't want to admit it but he understood what serena was trying to say. running away from your problems was much easier then staying and trying to fix it all. getting away from everything once in a while seemed pretty good. but running away from it didn't solve your problems it just made it seemed like they weren't there. " you can't run away from your problems all the time " embry told her even though she probably already knew this. but even though she knew it didn't stop her from phasing and just running till her mind was cleared. he sighed, embry loved it when things were so much simpler and easier to deal with. but at least he knew when serena was phased she wasn't as vulnerable as she was in human form. so when she ran away he wouldn't have to be as worried as he would have been before. embry wondered if they would still have this types of issues if they never heard anything about wolves and they never had the responsibilities that went with them. but it felt like a part of him was already use to it and he didn't know what he would do without it. embry bit his lip his phasing wasn't going to stop anytime soon so there's no reason to worry about it.
looking over at her she confirmed his thoughts saying she knew she'd be able to take him. even though she lost many times in the past that did nothing for her ego when it came to fighting him. but since it was so long since he last saw her maybe she actually could stand a chance this time. then again she didn't know what tricks he still had up his sleeve. but he didn't know what she had planned either, and she definitely seemed stronger then the last time he saw her. serena looked like she was ready to pounce and embry just grinned at her waiting for her to make her first move. this was how they got through their problems by play fighting, it seemed much better then just talking everything out. and while they were fighting they got to practice new moves, and all their other problems seemed to not matter just concentrating on the fight was good enough. serena tackled into him and he ended up hitting the ground. to most people that probably would have hurt, to him he barely noticed seeing as though he was use to playing this way with the guys. especially when they were in wolf form they were always fighting to settle arguments, it was just the way boys liked to do things he supposed. embry grabbed serenas wrist and looked up at her from the ground " that hurt " he said sarcastically now his turn to make his move. he wasn't holding on hard but enough so that he was sure she wouldn't somehow manage to squeeze away. embry pushed serena switching positions so this time she was the one with the back to the ground and he was on the one over her. " i think i prefer it this way " he said with a nod.
