Character History:Edward Anthony Masen was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 20th, 1901, with his mother's green eyes and a head full of bronze hair. In 1918, the Spanish influenza epidemic hit the Windy City, and the entire Masen family contracted the deadly virus. Each admitted to the hospital after it was already too late, Carlisle Cullen cared for the beautiful family of three. With Edward's father already deceased, it was his mother's last wish that Carlise do everything he could to save her only son. Despite Carlisle's aversion the wish, he turned Edward into a vampire gaining a somewhat-loyal companion.
Once Esme joined the family, Edward went into a bout of rebellion and split paths with Calisle. Edward used his gift of mind-reading to avenge those who -in Edward's eyes- were masochistic killers. Years later, he returned to Esme and Carlisle, unsatisfied with a life of murder. The family of three was soon joined by Rosalie, and later Emmett; then Alice and Jasper.
Around 1936, Edward and his family moved to Forks, where they encountered the Quileute tribe. A treaty was then arranged stating that the Quileute werewolves would not reveal the Cullens' secret so long as they didn't bite any humans and that they stay off of the Quileute land. The dividing line between La Push reservation and Forks quickly became permanent, but the Vegetarian vampires didn't stay in Washington very long.
In 2003, the Cullens returned to Forks where Edward was once again pretending to be Carlisle and Esme's adopted son. Two years later, Bella Swan moved to Forks and Edward became intrigued. Unlike any other human he'd encountered, Edward could not read her thoughts and her blood's scent burned in his throat. Though the two fight off friendship, Bella and Edward become a quick item.
However, he constantly warns Bella against being with him, perceiving her life to be at risk if she continues to associate with him. Bella's love and confidence in Edward's restraint cause her to ignore his warnings, even after she becomes the target of another vampire, James -who will not stop until he drinks Bella's blood. With his family's help, Edward is able to save Bella from James but at a small cost.
Edward’s fears for Bella’s safety intensify when she cuts her finger at a birthday party and is almost attacked by his brother Jasper. In an attempt to protect her, he convinces Bella that he no longer loves her, and moves away with his family, leaving Bella heartbroken. Edward finds it difficult to live without Bella, and becomes severely depressed at the prospect of an infinitely long and meaningless life. After he mistakenly learns from his sister Rosalie that Bella has committed suicide, Edward attempts to convince a group of Italian vampires, the Volturi, to kill him. Together with his sister Alice, Bella rushes to Italy and stops Edward before the Volturi can destroy him.
Edward explains why he left, and apologizes to Bella. She eventually forgives him entirely, and they continue with their relationship as though Edward had never left, with the exception that Bella has ties that cannot be broken with a werewolf named Jacob Black. Bella successfully seeks his family’s support on turning her into a vampire. While Edward is furious at the prospect, he later agrees to change her himself if she agrees to marry him first.
Bella becomes pregnant on their honeymoon, and the rapid growth of the half-human, half-vampire fetus swiftly impacts on Bella’s health. Edward tries to coerce her into having an abortion in order to save her own life. However, Bella feels a bond with her unborn child and insists on giving birth. Edward comes to feel love for the baby as well, after he hears its thoughts and learns that the baby loves Bella in return. Bella nearly dies giving birth in an emergency c-section, but Edward successfully delivers his daughter and then injects Bella's heart with his venom, healing her wounds by turning her into an immortal vampire.
Character Appearance:
Edward stands just over six foot one. His height and his slender, muscular body gives him an advantage over his prey. His skin is marbly—almost white and hard as stone—very pale, and ice cold. Unlike your cliche vampires of literature, Edward can go into sunlight he just chooses not to on most occasions. If he does, his body flares up in sparkles. It is said to look like millions of miniature diamonds reflecting light off of his body. Stephanie Meyer describes his facial features as being perfect and angular—high cheekbones, strong jawline, a straight nose, and full lips. Though his skin stays a pallid white, Edward's lips are very red. His hair, which is always messy, retains the unusual bronze shade that he inherited in his human life from his biological mother.
Also inherited from his mother, his once green eyes, are now described as a gold. His appearance changes if he goes long without feeding—his eyes darken, becoming almost black, and purple bruises appear beneath his eyes. Edward is considered the looker in his family. His features exist on all other vampires, but for some reason they stand out on him. Edward dresses classier than most of his peers. Collared shirts, khaki pants or nice jeans are part of his usual wardrobe. Usually his shirts are long-sleeved—never once has he worn shorts.

Personality:
He has a very charming aspect to his personality, whether he means to or not. He can easily 'dazzle' his way through a crowd of girls, and manipulate them to his advantage if needed. As well as being charming, Edward can also be quite seductive. His ways are not meant to happen, they just do. Flirting girls always seem to try and seduce him, which gives off the impression that he is seductive. Which, really he is, in a none meaning way. But the alluring sexiness of him and his shyness is just to much sometimes, even if he is the lower link of the school clique. The popular ones always go for the shy ones...it's part of High School.
Edward Cullen is a very unique individual, the ability to read a persons mind is an amazing power, not to mention useful. If he needs to keep track on someone, he can simply jsut see through their eyes, and see what they see. Or just listen in on their conversations through their thoughts. Fining out information is a very useful ability, but also harming. Sometimes there is just information not meant for anyone to know, and sometimes it hurts to know. Keeping his human morals, shows his old ways. He believes in well beings and keeping his morals at truth. Though he believes he doesn't have a soul, he wants to keep the meanings of existing alive.
Pain is known for Edward, it sometimes is his high. He has grown used to being subjected to pain, making him very masochistic. His love for something he can never have causes him immense agony, being an oxymoron. His love is his downfall. Emotional water slide describes Edward, slipping all over himself as he struggles to get to his destination in life. Edward himself is a very emotional person, but he just keeps it under the surface, keeping a serious mask on his face. But other than that, Edward is affected by others because of his mind, so imagine hearing and basically feeling other peoples thoughts all the time. This would cause emotional deformities.
Once Edward becomes attached to something or someone, he becomes dedicated and would always attend to it. Devotion is a main aspect of Edward, such as he devoted himself to piano playing as a hobby and past time. If his love for something or someone is strong enough, his dedication to them would become a daily routine.
Restraining in what he says and carefully placing his words in the accurate way to not confuse people, Edward is very reserved. Information that could possibly harm someone Edward cares about has lead him to be like that, he wishes fully to never cause pain to someone. Edward notices everything, whether it be a change of mood, or change of heart. He is aware of his surrounds to the extreme; not to mention mindful. Careful thinking out responses to make sure only information for him would be known instead of the other way around.
Despite Edward's very uptight seeming personality, he cares a lot for those he doesn't know. He could never kill a human soul, the feeling of being a murder was too much for his mental capability. The whole reason he is a vegetarian vampire is because he cares for teh humans that surround him, if not a lot, it is enough for him not to murder them with a strike of his fist. Edward doesn't want to be a monster. Edward makes sure that he has distance between humans and himself, if they ever got too close at the wrong moment...he shudders at the thought. Because of this, he way seem very secluded and not trustful of anyone, or really not looking for a relationship, which in truth he wasn't. If he ever became too emotionally attached with a human he would push them away, when in truth he would long them more than anything. Edward has the ability to do what is right, even though he doesn't want it to happen himself.
Edward absolutely dislikes men who disrespect women or treat them rudely. He is the type of man who would get out of his car first and then open the door for a girl who was riding for him, and he would tell them they were absurd if they refused so. He believes that this modern day has deluded men into thinking they don't have to be a gentleman to their wife's or girlfriends, that they can easily pull out a chair for themselves or open a door for themselves. It is not that Edward thinks the women are weak, just rather he was grown up to be polite and do such things; this trait has never left his personality through the years.
Knowing nearly twenty-five languages is impressive, knowing these languages and having the memory to know every single word in the language, that is very impressive. Edward is a very intelligent individual, he was born with a high IQ and has teh capability to learn more than others. He usually takes up his free time-which he has a lot of, reading and studying, trying to learn as much as he can. In school, the children call him a know-it-all, which he doesn't mind, he finds it quite amusing actually. Disliking slang used amongst the human population, Edward is known for using proper words and doesn't talk in slang. He usually confuses people with highly articulate words, which really are not that complicated to realize what they are. His style of talking is also very old fashioned, not old fashioned like Shakespeare, but more of the very early 1900's talk. You will never find another living soul talking in such tongue, it is rather rare.
RP sample:
It was one of those autumn days–made brilliant by the carpet of colorful leaves and slight tempered by the breeze–which felt so perfect it raised the hairs on the back of my neck. I am not an easy or optimistic man; I worry. And when life gave me that day, my pallid skin sweat through the hours, my jitters bordered on a mania of trepidation. That day, a friend of Bella's came to visit, Jacob Black was irate as he stepped on our land–off of the treaty. Of course, that was the day that I lost control–a day that, in my mind, will always show the true monster I really am. I killed the only woman I ever loved by encompassing a monster within her, that would've eaten her alive. I was too selfish for that though.
Edward Cullen thought back a century. The day that he remembered took his sanity for granted, and it almost took his Bella's life. In a matter of words it had taken her life, but now Edward was given an eternity with his wife, and the mother of his child–Renesmee. What more could he ask for? Smiling crookedly as he crossed the distance from the cottage–he and his immediate family resided in their first home once more–to the cullen manor, Edward realized the answer to his own rhetorical question was nothing. Welcoming himself to his family's home, Edward crossed the foyer and made his way past the window-walled kitchen and into the music room.
The grand piano glowed as the bronze haired man took a seat; the sleek, black surface reflected the light that shone through the windows. Pulling up the key cover, Edward's hands flowed relentlessly over the ebony and ivory keys, making heaven appear in a familiar melody. A harmony intwined with the soft lullaby and soon Edward's own voice was heard throughout the tune.
"Life was like a moonless night, shrouded in the stars–beauty can be such a fright, but now you're in my arms." His tenor voice quieted and slowly the harmony was also missing. Melodic chords softened and soon silence was all that Edward heard. Once again, Edward was alone in his thoughts, an oddity in his own unique sense. For once though, he heard nothing.
Edward was still, sitting curtly on the cushioned piano bench that he so often visited. One could say he was day-dreaming, though that was not the case, as Edward Cullen's topaz eyes stared off into space. Instead he was reminiscing.
Renesmee was a blessing to us, making each day of our eternity much more thrilling than the past. That is, until she started to age quicker than planned. Carlisle knew that Ness' growth was strictly experimental in the sense that we weren't quite sure what to expect. Once again my selfish pride interfered with our plans–he day we bit her, she screamed bloody-murder–pain shooting through her body as we expected her to remain in her nine-year-old state. Instead, she stopped aging so quickly and I realized that day that my daughter would die.
He sat for what seemed like seconds, but could as well have been hours. His contemplative thoughts engrossed his mind, leaving his soul–if he had one–to mourn for each mistake he made. Sighing, the immortal man returned his hands to the piano. A lament coming from the silence drowned out his memories, and Edward was quickly occupied with the piece in which he'd never played before; a composition in the making.
