It's not easy making a name for yourselfWhere do you draw the line? I neverthought I'd be in this far. stuck in my head Maybe partying wasn't such a good idea. Actually, scratch that, maybe drinking and driving wasn't such a good idea. Rhys abviously didn't care at the moment. He was just having a good time with a girl he had met. What guy thinks about these kind of things when he had a hot blonde just wanting to get somewhere so they could have a little fun? Rhys was not that guy that thought about that stuff. He had been having a blast when he lost control of the wheel. He had a feeling this wasn't going to end well for him or the girl. His father would be mad too, well, way beyond mad, more like head exploding, and steam coming from his ears. That wouldn't be very pretty, no no.
The car swerved, and went diving into the ditch. Rhys head smacked violently from side to side, it felt like his neck would snap at any minute. He could hear the girl scream, but a lot of things became distant. As a child, Rhys father said that he had been dropped on his head a lot, and that's why he was like he was. A trouble maker, and not a good kid. Anyways, Rhys felt like a bowling ball or something really heavy had been dropped on his head. His vision was getting a little spotty, and he sort of faded into a sleep. He dreamed that he was little again, and was out playing with Samara. She was his best friend of all time, since middle school. He remembered hanging out with her at the beach, and just being normal. Nothing for Rhys was normal anymore, not since high school.
It seemed that Rhys had strayed off the right path, and went down the rebellious path. While Samara on the other hand wasn't as rebellious. It disappointed Rhys, he had always wanted them to cause problems together, but he didn't want her to change, and be like him. Otherwise she'd more then likely be with him in the car, and he couldn't have that. Rhys was pretty sure that he was seeing a UFO or something because he could see a blur of lights above his head. Had the aliens finally got him? He didn't want to be an experiment for them. He was too young to die!
"Son, can you hear me?" Rhys opened his eyes slowly, and groaned. His hand went to his head, and he felt a bandage of it. Rhys nodded slowly, and looked around. He saw his car, and groaned again. It was totalled. Great, just great. "Alright, since you seem to be fine 'cept that cut, a few brusies, and a headache, you goin' to county for the night."
Twenty minutes later, Rhys found himself looking around the jail. There were few people in here, and well, the ones that were looked at him like he was meat. Oh no, no no no, he was no one's meat. Nope, no way. Never. The guard guy came up, and unlocked his cell, Rhys, who was still drunk, tripped over his feet, and stumbled. "Whoa, easy there son. You get one call." Mhm, who was he going to call? Not his father, none of his other friends. Rhys sighed guility, and dialed Samara's number. "Samara?" He asked into the phone after the ringing stopped, and he heard breathing. [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGS?!

a sunrise on the eastsidewill you be there to carry me home
So, while Samara’s friends were out having fun and doing things together, she found herself on her couch curled up reading a book for her English class. And this wasn’t her procrastinating! Her parents made it very clear that if she wanted to play music that she had to do well in school. So, while her friends were out, she was frantically writing notes on a book she found herself very uninteresting. She even almost went to sleep, but her brother came running downstairs and had her waking up and acting like she was studying hard when she wasn’t even sure what she was staring at. Never in her life had she ever found it so hard to stay focused. She blamed the fact that her cell phone kept buzzing telling her she had a new text message, but she couldn’t do that for long. After about an hour it stopped. She still read the messages, though, which didn’t help.
Samara knew she couldn’t fight sleep much longer because thirty more minutes and her book was cover her face and she was starting to fall asleep. That was until her mother walked in and shook her awake. ”You know, you’re allowed to go to bed,” her mother laughed. Samara would have protested, but she just didn’t feel like it. Instead, she managed to get herself off the couch and made her way up the stairs to her bedroom. Somehow she managed to slip into pajamas, but it was beyond her how she managed to do that. And within moments she was wrapped up underneath her sheets and falling to sleep. She was content and she felt safe. It made her glad she was given her family rather than having someone else raise her. Things had managed to turn out in her favor. Some people didn’t have half of what she did. She was lucky.
It didn’t take long before Samara was fast asleep. It also didn’t take long before she was being woken up again. Her dreams were rather peaceful…considering she didn’t have much of any. However, she could clearly hear the ringing of a phone. It took a moment for her to realize it was her own and that she was stirring in bed, rubbing her eyes and rolling over on her back. Her arm reached out and her hand searched for her phone until it finally landed on it. She already knew it was a call from a number she hadn’t programmed in her phone because of the ringtone, but when she saw the number, she realized it wasn’t even a number she recognized.
”Hello?” Samara somehow managed to get out from her sleepy state. She hated when people called her, especially when it was the wrong number and she was trying to sleep. She was fighting back anger of chewing someone out when she realized she recognized the voice that her name. No, it couldn’t be Rhys? She knew it wasn’t Rhys. Who was she trying to kid. That was definitely him.
Samara groaned into the phone, ”Rhys?” Her words were coming out slowly because it was taking her time to process things. She knew one thing. Rhys wouldn’t be calling her this late unless something was wrong. ”What’s going on? What do you need?” She relaxed, though. What were the chances he did something stupid? Actually, they chances were likely. After all, he wasn’t calling her from his phone, which she did question. ”Rhys, whose phone are using?” She was suddenly a little more aware and worried about her best friend. ”Oh my god, Rhys, what did you do?”

It's not easy making a name for yourselfWhere do you draw the line? I neverthought I'd be in this far. STUCK IN MY HEAD ?! Never in his right mind did Rhys think that he would end up in this situation. He never thought that he would be the one to crash, and almost die. It just wasn’t like him at all. He’d never drink and drive before, and well, he was disappointed in himself. Rhys could imagine the look on his father’s face when he found out about this because Rhys was more then positive he would find out. Nothing went past that man, and Rhys would more then likely get his car taken away. Well, what was left of his car anyways. And he would have to go to court, just great. It didn’t help that the court might have seen him once or twice…maybe three times. He wasn’t the greatest at not getting caught, especially with everything that he’s done, it wouldn’t shock him if they sent him to jail this time, but he was fairly certain that they wouldn’t because of his father’s money. So, he would just get community service like always. He would tell them that he learned his lesson and that he would never do it again. He was such a good liar, that was a bad quality to have as a person, but hey, what could he do? He was just a human, right? But what is his father didn’t want to help him out this time? What if he made him learn his lesson? Eh, that didn’t really bother Rhys all too much. He was a big boy, he could handle himself. It was a quality he learned to keep with himself. Though a lot of people say that he is just an arrogant jerk, and he could very well be one, but he didn’t notice that about himself. Rhys sighed, and wanted just to smack himself. This is what people must have been talking about. He couldn’t honestly say he cared because he would be lying to everyone. Including himself. He just had to learn to accept himself, and lying to himself wouldn’t be doing that.
It felt even worse that he was going to call Samara to help him. She was his best friend, and he would do anything for her. Anything, that’s how it is with best friends. Samara was the only one Rhys could trust, and the only person he would die for. He wouldn’t want anything to happen to her because she was the only one willing to look past his arrogance, and tolerate him. It surprised him really because she and him were the complete opposite of each other, and well, most of the time opposite personalities collided, but with them, it wasn’t like that. Sure, she acted like his disapproving mother, and scowled him a lot, but she didn’t dog him all the time. So when he said he felt guilty for calling her, he really did mean it. He felt guilty for calling her this late at night, and for asking her to come bail him out of jail for his stupid mistakes. It was wrong that he did that, but he didn’t want to have his father know about this, and he didn’t want to have to depend on his dad’s money either. It made him feel like a weak little boy who always had to look to his dad when things got bad. That’s why people called him spoiled. It made sense that people would say that because his father didn’t want to tarnish the reputation of the family. He certainly wasn’t going to let his stupid son do that. So he had to cover up everything with money. It was just how his father was, and now with this marriage he was having with this woman, his father thought that he was more likely to act up. He wasn’t mistaken either because Rhys didn’t want some woman to be his ‘mom’. Rhys didn’t need a mom, he got through his life just fine without one.
Rhys froze up when he heard Samara’s voice on the other end. He was surprise she even picked up. She normally didn’t pick up unless the number was in her phone, but seeing as though he voice was so sleepy, she must have not bothered to check the number for caller ID. Rhys couldn’t even talk because she kept talking. ”Samra. Listen to me. I need you to come down to the Sheriff’s office and bail me out,” he spoke quickly. He didn’t want to freak her out or anything but he knew he was going to have to explain to her why he was in jail in the first place. Obviously his previous statement would tell her whose phone she was calling from. ”I crashed, it’s nothing serious. But my dad can’t know, so I’m calling you.”
He sounded like an ass, but it was the straight up truth. She couldn’t call his dad no matter what. [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGS?!

a sunrise on the eastsidewill you be there to carry me home
Samara was perhaps one of the kindest people to ever hit earth. She had a problem telling people no and would do anything to rescue her friends from trouble. Unfortunately, her friends always took advantage of that. She couldn’t exactly blame them. She never let anyone down and if they needed her she was the first one there. The only problem was she felt like she never got the same courtesy in return. She felt like she could be trapped in a burning car and no one would run to her rescue. That wasn’t true of all of her friends, no, but a vast majority of them were that way. It wasn’t to say that Rhys was, though. Actually, he was probably the only person that cared to listen to her. Still, she didn’t quite enjoy being woken up early in the morning and being freaked out. It sort of reminded her of the time her little brother had eaten peanuts, which he was apparently allergic to. She just remembered sitting there with him, considering she was left to babysit him, and him suddenly gasping for air. The panic she didn’t like. She didn’t want to have to relive it. When Rhys called her the way he had, what she supposed to do aside from panic? It was rare she ever got a call from him this early. When she did, it was usually because he was drunk dialing her. He didn’t even do that often. She couldn’t believe this was even happening to her. She only hoped it wasn’t some kind of cruel joke to get her jumping out of bed to run to his rescue. She wouldn’t put it passed him to do something like that. He always thought it was funny to see her react to a situation, like when that thing happened to her brother. Sure, he never really did that to her. He was right beside her panicking the entire time, but she figured had it turned out not to be as serious as it was, he would have laughed at her.
Knowing why he called helped her a little bit. Samara sighed upon hearing it and fell back into her bed to relax a bit and get her thoughts back together. Well, at least nothing extremely serious had happened, she figured. He wasn’t dead. That counted, right? How could she be mad when it was just good to know he was alive? Well, it was pretty easy, considering it was early in the morning and she didn’t want to be awake. She sighed again, this time into the phone. What was she supposed to tell him? Samara didn’t want to be rude. So, she rolled over on the bed and prepared herself to get up and get him from the police station. ”Ok Rhys, I’m on my way right now. Just give me a bit, kay?” It was the least she could do, right? And it was probably best if she was the one that came to his rescue, anyway. If his dad knew about this, he would be in a bunch of trouble, so much that no one would see him for two years. Samara didn’t care about the rest of the world, but she needed her best friend. He was her backbone. He would be dead should his dad figure out about this. So, this had to be a secret. She was ok with that. She had a lot of secrets with him, mostly his secrets. Samara didn’t really have many things to hide from her family or her friends. Most people knew everything. Still, they kept secrets, and she kept him out of trouble. It was some sort of unwritten rule or law. That law also stated that she had to get up and save him from whatever trouble he got into. Tonight, that trouble was apparently him being imprisoned for having a car accident. She would even go as far to say that he was drunk or somewhat intoxicated while driving.
Samara didn’t bother changing her clothes. She simply put on shoes and a coat and grabbed a bunch of cash from her stash in her drawer, tips she had made playing at random parties and things, before leaving her house to get her friend out of jail. She even left a note in her bedroom, should her parents check in on her, telling them she didn’t want to wake them and that Rhys was in trouble and needed her help. They always seemed to be understanding when it came to her helping him. It took about fifteen minutes before she was at the police station. Just as she had expected, she received weird looks and a ”Don’t you think it’s a little late for you to be here? Why don’t you go home sweetheart?” from an officer that was trying to baby her. She refrained from rolling her eyes and just sighed heavily. ”I came here to bail out my friend, Rhys Tolvn.” One officer raised an eyebrow. ”You know, that takes money little girl.” This time she really did roll her eyes out of frustration and slammed a handful of cash on the counter. She probably made more than he wished he could have. ”I have it. Now, bring me my friend.” ”Just a moment,” one officer spoke before disappearing.
