fall asleep without youyou're lucky if your memory remains
Blah…blah…blah. That was pretty much all Jeremiah heard out of some girl’s mouth that morning at work. She wanted to put her two cents in on everything he did. Today they were talking about his photography taking and how he could never really make a good job out of it. What the hell did it matter to her if he had a real job or not? It was his life to lead, not hers, not at all. The last time he checked, he wasn’t marrying her either. He didn’t like her enough to want to do that, though he knew she liked him. There was this big ordeal where she expressed her feelings for him one day and asked if he would like to join her at her prom at the school she went to in Seattle. He politely declined and continued on his way. Today, he wished he could do that, but this thing call time was in his way. It put a damper on everything. He stared at the clock as she rambled on about how he should pursue a degree that was a little more practical after graduation, like English or Science. He nodded as she spoke, just waiting for the second his shift ended.
Six o’clock! No one could have been happier than Jeremiah was to look at the time on the clock. He quickly maneuvered his way out of the building without the girl following behind him. That was only because she had gotten caught up in an argument with a customer, one she had managed to piss off all on her own with her attitude. It wasn’t that unbelievable. She pissed everyone off. It was surprising she still had a job, but that was because the manager knew he was going to get rid of her sometime during the summer because she had decided she should be more focused on school rather than work. That didn’t bother anyone, which was sad. It was depressing that one girl had managed to bug people that much, but it happened. It was the same with customers. They did that all the time.
Jeremiah, without being stopped by anyone, including police officers, made it back into Forks without any problem at all. Tonight, his focus for his portfolio was scenery. Last time he had done people, which really hadn’t turned out so bad, but tonight, it was about things. He was also in one of moods where the idea of childhood things fascinated him. This led him to the park to take pictures for his portfolio. Abandoned things at night intrigued him for some reason, though it wasn’t exactly that dark out yet. Whatever! The first place he went was a very bad place for Jeremiah. There, by those swings, he had been told that the girl he lost his virginity to was pregnant with his child. Today, Jeremiah didn’t have that little girl because she was with another family. He found it quite quaint though. The way the wind blew the swing and the leaves around it expressed perfectly his thoughts of that very spot. Why shouldn’t he capture it, no matter how much it hurt?

Kali had been jogging around the small town of Forks for a little under thirty minutes but already her legs were starting to tire. She was working through the harsh burn in her legs while trying to convince herself that this would be great for her muscles when they actually decided to firm up a little bit. Kali was a tiny girl and there was no doubt about that but her thighs were a little bit thick and she wanted to turn that thickness into pure muscle, jogging was her alternative to a leg press because in her words, those things HURT.
She jogged around the corner and found herself in the parking lot of something in the local area, she wasn't even sure where she was everything was just kind of blurring together as she cleared her mind and ignored her throbbing legs. She looked down at her watch and she then heard a snap, like the sound of a camera taking a photo. Kali loved photography so she couldn't help but to stop and see what was being captured. She turned in her spot to see a guy who looked to be around her age lowering a camera from a swing, or so it seemed? She couldn't be sure of what he had just taken exactly, but she was, indeed, curious. In her head, she was debating on rather or not to speak to him because maybe he just felt like being left alone, she couldn't tell what his body language was saying and she couldn't even tell if it was negative or positive. Finally, she decided that she would give it a shot. She always thought of herself as a sort of charming person so maybe if he was having a bad day she could brighten it just a tad. If he shut her out she would just walk away, no big deal.
She started walking toward the boy, she was sure she looked like a mess from jogging and sweating and her muscles were still throbbing from their recent torture. Finally, she approached him realizing that he was actually really cute, only he looked kind of intimidating, she wasn't entirely sure why she felt that way. "If you were just capturing what I think you were, then that should be a pretty decent picture, I'm Kali..." She smiled at him hoping to strike up some type of conversation, she hadn't spoken to anyone in a few days and she might have been lonely, she wasn't entirely sure why she was speaking to him yet. Do you mind if I take a look? I'm a great critic, I take pictures as well." TAG:Jeremiah WORD COUNT:444 NOTES:none[/size]

fall asleep without youyou're lucky if your memory remains
It was amazing how people felt bad for Jeremiah because he was all alone. He truly preferred it that way. People weren’t bad, not in his opinion, and he knew how to talk to them. He just preferred the loneliness as it gave him time to think about things. It gave him the opportunity to create. As he sat alone in his bedroom, he thought of the dozens of things he could do with his camera. That was why he liked being alone. It didn’t bother him nearly as much as people thought it did. But he didn’t really care what they thought. It wasn’t up to them to dictate what he did or what kind of company he kept if any company whatsoever. People needed to stay out of his life.
Jeremiah thought that as though he would hurt someone. In reality, he couldn’t hurt a fly. It wasn’t in him. He wasn’t even intimidating. He wasn’t big or muscular. He didn’t carry himself like a “bully” would. He was small and skinny and sooo not scary. In fact, he was one of the friendliest people in the world. No, he didn’t walk up to people and talk to them, but he didn’t run away from them or insult them, to their faces or behind their backs. He just talked to them, never giving away too much, though. He didn’t like people knowing his personal life. Usually, they only pitied him more for something that he was completely over. That was another reason why Jeremiah kept to himself. What was it everyone else’s business what was wrong with him? Rather why did it matter to anyone else where he came from. That was for him alone. All they needed to know was the person he was now. He was a photographer. That was all he really wanted people to see. He didn’t want them to feel bad for him. Should the right girl come along he’d tell her, yeah, but he wouldn’t tell some random person he just met.
For instance, Jeremiah would not be telling his life story to the female voice he heard behind him. He didn’t know her and probably would never see her again. As small as this town was, it was amazing how he never saw some of the people he met in it ever again. Oh well. He figured it was meant to be that way. ”Thank you,” he looked over his shoulder and nodded, ”And I’m Jeremiah.” He returned to focusing his camera again and taking a few more shots of the flower before standing up. Did Kali really say something about critiquing his pictures? That would require someone holding his camera. He didn’t like for random people to touch his camera. When his mom touched him he panicked, mostly because he didn’t want anyone to drop it. Was that crazy? ”Do you, really?” he asked curiously in an effort to avoid the part about looking at his pictures, ”I normally do objects like that. I’m not so good with people or scenery. What about you?”
