Alone I walk the winding road. It‘s over, no longer, I feel it growing stronger.
STUCK IN MY HEAD?!
WEARING?!

There was something about this day, this specific day that Bryson didn’t like. She didn’t know what it was, but she didn’t like it what so ever. It bothered her, and well, she knew there wasn’t much she could do about it. She laid in her bed, the one she never slept in, and looked up at her ceiling. Her stereo was blasting with music, and she didn’t really care if her ‘family’ up the road could hear it. She was glad that she got her old house to herself, she didn’t want these vampires in a house she grew up in. This cottage had so many memories, it sometimes hurt her to walk into the door and know that her human family wasn’t there anymore. Bryson had screwed up majorly when she had started her life as a vampire. Bryson didn’t like this life, she would have rather been dead then be undead. She didn’t like that she was forced to hear her family cry over her body, or that she had to watch her family pack up and move away from her. She had made a stupid mistake in watching them when she had awakened. She made the stupid mistake of sending them a picture of her being alive and happy. She had freaked them all out, and gave her vampire family even more reason to keep her. Power, that’s what they craved. Henry was a powerful man, and kept himself allied with the Volturi, people that Bryson didn’t like one bit. They were manipulative monsters in her eyes, and she wished that they would all die. Henry had considered giving her as a gift to them, to keep him on their good side, but decided against it. Bryson wouldn’t have gone, she wouldn’t have. Henry knew as much, that’s why he didn’t send her. How would it look to the Volturi if his made vampire ran from them? It would embarrass him, and he wouldn’t be able to show himself to them again. Good, Bryson hoped that he wouldn’t be able.
Bryson stretched her body across the bed, and walked into the living room. She didn’t know what she wanted to do. She knew she could stay here, but she wanted to go explore her town. Bryson knew it wasn’t much different from when she had left four years ago, but she could smell the new vampires that had come into town. It was interesting to know how many vampires had moved into town. She hadn’t realized that there were so many of them. Bryson moved swiftly through her house, thinking about this. She didn’t know how she felt about all these vampire threatening her town. She wondered how many of her friends were dating vampire. Or how many had been turned either by choice or by accident. Sure, Bryson took to her new life with ease, but she wouldn’t wish it on anyone else. She would hate to know that one of her friends had actually chosen this life. Bryson opened her fridge, took a baggie of blood, then walked back up stairs to change into something to go out in public in rather then her pajamas. She gathered her clothing, then walked to her bathroom. She didn’t have to take a shower, but she preferred to do so. She stood in the shower, the warm water didn’t effect her body like it would have as a human, so she didn’t stay in long. Just long enough to wash her hair and pale body. She got out, and quickly dressed, and blow dried her hair, then straightened it out. She grabbed her shoes and put them on while walking out the door.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had been to the meadow, but she knew she wanted to go back. She’d rarely gone when she was human because it posed a threat to her, according to her father. He was probably right, but New York had posed a more threat then some little meadow. Getting attack by one of your best friends father wasn’t the way Bryson wanted to go. It was like the ultimate humiliation, to have to look at the man and the boy who turned you into a monster. Bryson didn’t run super fast like most vampires would have, she wanted to take her time getting there. She wanted to take in the view with her vampire eyes, to see the type of things that she missed as a human. She learned that she had missed a lot as a human, but she would have rather missed a lot then be something like this. But since she couldn’t help it anymore, she just took what she could. Bryson honestly didn’t care anymore. She was a vampire, and a vampire she would be. She would hunt as one, kill as one, and act as one. Henry and Anabelle wanted her to go back to school, but Bryson refused. It had only been four years, they probably still had her on record from when she had graduated. So, Bryson had a job. Sort of, she worked at a bar in Seattle. It made money, and it gave her something to do.
Finally, Bryson made it to the small meadow. It was peaceful looking, and just as relaxing as she remembered. She walked to the edge, and sat down. The grass felt weird against her vampire skin. She could feel, hear, and see every little thing. It was so odd, but she went with it. Bryson could feel the warmth of the sun beating against her face, that was something that she thought she would never feel again. It felt so good, but it would have felt better as a human. She didn’t feel heat the same way anymore, it was just like rain against water, it blended in. She laid against the soft grass, and watched her skin sparkle. Bryson thought that was kind of gay. A vampire that sparkled? What the hell? Bryson heard ruffling within the forest, and jerked up. Her eyes narrowed towards the area she had heard it from. She sniffed the air, and knew it was another vampire. Great, can’t ever get a peaceful moment to myself, thought Bryson.
