"It's not like I haven't heard this shit several times before, mother, you only pretend like your worried when in reality you don't care." Yet again Kali was in a screaming match with her mother over the phone and yet again she could really care less. The only thing Kali promised herself since the day she turned eighteen was that she would never live in her parents' house ever again and she had kept that promise for over a year and a half. Her mother was arguing with her again over he stuggle with the little white pills she was always so partial to taking. They meant everything to her, they made her feel a little bit of stable in such an unstable situation. "Look, I'm just going to let you go because I don't feel like having this conversation anymore." She hung up.
First Beach sounded nice at a time like this, it could only mean that she could quickly escape from the thoughts that couldn't escape her head for the frequent moment. Getting up from her bed she slips on a sundress with a jacket over it and grabs her bag, pops a few of her little friends and heads on out to her car. The car ride wasn't exactly as easy as she thought. She always hated it when the pills couldn't kick in fast enough and her mind raced at about a million miles a second. Sometimes it gave her migranes. Much like it did now.
Ariving at the beach was a much more peaceful situation. Kali loved the way the sun looked on the cold waves. The waves, to her, represented every stress of the day. When they crashed it was her stresses leaving. Kali layed down her towel and sat on it with her arms keeping her head from laying on it. The waves were doing their job and so was her pills, the migrane was gone and she could finally catch herself breathing. Breathing was something she rarely experienced, it seemed so hard when she was sober and she didn't understand why it came so naturally when she wasn't. The waves were crashing again and the sound of them made her drift off into her own little world where the only things she thought about were the ones that made her happy.
