Kara woke with the shakes that morning. Never a good sign. She reached over for the glass of water and three pills she had placed on her bedside table the night before. After taking her Kepra and Tegratol she sipped at the water as she gazed out her bedroom window. She Kept hoping that one day she might wake up and be back in Seattle again. Only a couple of hours away, it still felt to her as if Forks was a bazillion light years away from home and it really did not help that Kaleb was away at WSU and she didn’t have anyone to talk to. She reached over for her pack of Marlboro Smooth Menthol and extracting one from the pack, she expertly flicked her lighter and lit the cigarette. Easing back against her pillows she glanced over at the clock and seeing that it was 9:30 am on a Saturday morning. Her mother, Charlotte had already left for work and Kara had the whole day to herself. ”Gee a fascinating prospect.” She mumbled aloud and she got up out of bed, flicking her ashes in the nearby ashtray before stumbling over to her closet to find something to wear.
Choosing her favorite faded blue jeans, a simple white shirt, her black boots and her black leather jacket, Kara finished her cigarette and taking her clothes into the bathroom, she disposed of her cigarette and sitting everything neatly on the chair at her vanity, she turned and stepped into the shower. About then minutes later she emerged wrapped in a big fluffy white towel. She scooted everything in her chair over to the stool and sitting before the mirror she gazed into it for a moment. She was, she supposed, a quite pretty girl especially with her huge blue eyes. Deciding that she would go with the wet look today, she began working gel into her short black hair and forming it into spikes. After she was done and while the gel was drying she washed her hands and brushed her teeth before walking back over to her Vanity to apply what little makeup she wore.
Moments later she thundered, completely dressed downstairs and walked into the kitchen. She headed over to the dishwasher and grabbed her black coffee mug which displayed the logo of her favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Cats and poured herself a cup of coffee from the nearby pot and after adding some Vanilla Caramel Coffee mate to the cup. She sat her coffee cup down next to the toaster and grabbing a plate from the nearby cupboard, she sat it down on the counter top. And grabbed the nearby package of blueberry bagels and splitting one open she popped it in the toaster. While waiting for it to be done, she took a sip of her coffee Then walked back over to the fridge and grabbed the cream cheese. On her way back to the toaster she got a knife from the drainer and a banana from the fruit basket, She placed the banana on her plate and grabbed the bagel. After loading it up with cream cheese and cleaning up she took her plate to the kitchen table and began to eat slowly, She glanced up at her amazingly cute prom dress and sighed softly to herself. “It’s not as if anyone asked me, I don’t know if I’m going to even go.” She muttered to herself.
After she ate and washed her dishes, Kara wandered around the house for an hour or so. She checked her e-mail and chatted with Kaleb on the phone for a bit. Then feeling bored she decided to go to the beach for a while. She grabbed her purse and her guitar case, then just for giggles she picked up her makeup bag, Heels and Prom dress and carrying it all to her little red VW Bug, she loaded everything into the car. Straightening up she looked around the little subdivision where she li8ved with her mom and sometimes her brother and sighed. Just one more way she didn’t fit in. Everyone who lived nearby seemed to live richly, driving expensive cars and living in huge houses, wearing designer clothes. It was not as if Kara could not have provided that kind of life for her family off of her album sales, but they did not want to live that way.
She got in her car and drove to the nearby town of La Push and decided that she could be bored and lonely at First Beach just as well as she could at home. Once there, she grabbed her guitar and after locking her car, carried it over to a large pile of driftwood that looked out over the ocean. She sat her case beside her and extracted her Gibson Hummingbird Pro Acoustic-Electric Guitar and smiling to herself, began to pick out the acoustic chords to her recent number 1 hit, Supergirl and to softly sing to herself.
“Sometimes I have dreams I picture myself flying Above the clouds High in the sky Conquering the world With my magic piano Never being scared But then I realize I'm supergirl And I'm here To save the world And I wanna know Who's gonna save me? I'm supergirl And I'm here to Save the world And I wanna know Why I feel so alone Seems like a dream But there's one thing missing Nobody's here with me (Here with me) To share in all that I've been given I need someone That's strong enough for me Hey ooh I need someone I won't stop till I find the one Who will start Belonging in my life I need someone I won't stop till I find the one Who will start Belonging in my life I'm supergirl And I'm here to Save the world And I wanna know Who's gonna save me I'm supergirl And I'm here to Save the world And I wanna know Why I feel so alone I'm super girl I wanna know Who's gonna save me I'm supergirl And I'm here to Save the world.” Word Count: 1029 Words Tagged Owen Costello

Owen Denzel Costello woke up exhausted with a little boy, whom was small and skinny for his age, cuddled up right next to him. He groaned but quietly for he did not want to wake up the five-year-old boy known as Taylor James Costello, Owen's nephew. He was the sweetest thing but he was so hard to understand at times. Owen carefully got out of bed and grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans and pulled them on. He'd showered last night along with bathing Taylor. Owen was going to have to start getting responsible for little Taylor but he wasn't going to change completely. He put on a Slipknot t-shirt and then headed out, closing the door behind him extremely quietly. Tay got cranky really quick if he was woken up before his body decided it was time to get up. Owen started to make himself some eggs and toast because he was starving. Taylor wouldn't eat eggs or toast but he'd eat Cocoa Puffs or Fruit Loops. So when Tay woke up, Owen would make him some cereal. Owen got done with his food and ate all of it within a flash. Then he heard Taylor get up and he watched as the little boy walked in the kitchen with just a pair of Scooby Doo boxers. Owen smiled at the child and asked, "Did you get scared last night, Tay?" Tay looked at him and rubbed his eyes before answering, "Uh huh. Ee 'ot scawed." Owen understood those words perfectly. He smiled. "That's okay. Do you want to eat something?" Taylor looked at him again and toddled over to him. "Ee's 'ungwy."
Owen made him some cereal and then went into Taylor's room and got him a shirt and pants. He also grabbed the Tay-Tay's sandles. Owen hadn't bought Taylor clothes yet and only had the preppy clothes that Charlie had bought for his son. Speaking of Charlie, his condition wasn't doing any better. He was actually getting worse and Owen worried about how that would affect Taylor. He had Owen, of course, but if he lost his real daddy, that could be extremely bad. Taylor asked about his daddy almost everyday and Owen had no answers for him. Charlie told Owen not to call him and to wait for Charlie to contact him. So Owen would just tell him 'I don't know' and Tay would get all disappointed. It made Owen sad to see his nephew, that he'd only known for three weeks, so disappointed. Every time it rained, Taylor would stay inside and refuse to go out unless he was under an umbrella. Owen hoped to eventually change that about Taylor. He didn't want Taylor to shy away from the rain forever and he figured the little boy was here to stay. He didn't think Charlie was going to make it through the Lung Cancer. After Taylor finished eating, Owen helped him get dressed and Taylor didn't say a word. Owen asked, "Do you want to go to the beach?" Taylor got a huge grin on his face and Owen knew the answer before Taylor even answered. "Ee wants to go to the bees."
Owen picked the boy up in his arms and held him close. Taylor laid his head on Owen's shoulder and held on tight like he was going to get dropped. Owen grinned and held Taylor close to his body. They went out to the car and he put Taylor in his booster seat. He buckled him in and then Owen got into the driver's side. Then Owen remembered that Taylor would probably want his swim trunks so he could run around in the water. Owen got out of his seat and ran inside and grabbed Tay-Tay's swim trunks and then came back outside. He gave them to Tay and then jammed his key in the car. He put the car into drive and then headed down to the beach. He unbuckled Taylor who hadn't said a word the whole drive. He let Taylor out and then put Taylor in his swim suit right there but he was covering up the little boy. He smelled.... a human and he didn't really recognize the scent. Then again, he was too tired to let anything register in his brain right now. He found a girl singing to herself and approached her. "Hello ma'am." He was unusually polite and he turned his head to look for Tay. He was fine. He was only ankle deep in the water.

Kara finished her song and smiled up at the voice that spoke to her. ”Hello, and please don’t call me Ma’am I’m only seventeen.” She replied in her natural whisper soft voice. She placed her guitar back in her case and gazed at the little boy playing happily in the water. She smiled wistfully at the little boy then slipped off her shoes and walked out toward the little boy, not getting too close as not to scare him. She smiled at the little boy and waved. She bent down and picked up a shell, a rather large one. She took it over toward the pile of driftwood where she had been sitting. She turned the shell upside down to let the water drain out of it. She sat with her arms crossed on her knees, her medic alert bracelet glinting in the sunlight. She looked up at the young man near her and said softly. “I’m sorry I didn’t introduce myself. I’m Kara.” She smiled up at him. She reached over and picked up her guitar again. ”Would it be alright if I played him a song?” She asked. She tuned her guitar and began to pick out a well-known children’s tune.Taking a soft breath she began to sing to the little boy. “ If all the raindrops Were lemondrops and gumdrops Oh, what a rain that would be! Standing outside, with my mouth open wide Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah If all the raindrops Were lemondrops and gumdrops Oh, what a rain that would be!
If all the snowflakes Were candy bars and milkshakes Oh, what a snow that would be! Standing outside, with my mouth open wide Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah If all the snowflakes Were candy bars and milkshakes Oh, what a snow that would be!
If all the sunbeams Were bubblegum and ice cream Oh, what a sun that would be! Standing outside, with my mouth open wide Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah If all the sunbeams Were bubblegum and ice cream Oh, what a sun that would be!”Kara smiled at the little boy and at the young man with him. ”He’s a cutie.” She said softly.
