the party starts with youand me all alone and no one has to know
Another weekend was rolling in. Bryce was sure this weekend would be just about as boring as the previous ones had, mostly because she had work. She didn’t just have work. She had it on the busiest nights of the week. She couldn’t say it was all bad. She got amazing tips and had enough money that she could live somewhat comfortably with her roommate, her younger brother, now. That put a damper on things. Jack watched Bryce like a hawk. It also caused drama amongst the family. Jack was young, just turning seventeen. He was technically supposed to be under the supervision of his parents, not his sister, but he had put up a good fight in order to with Bryce, though she really didn’t know why. She didn’t like being home. Ha! That was part of his plan. With Jack around, he knew it would mean she would feel obligated to stay home. When she did go out, it usually required taking him with her. Her whole social life was suddenly put on hold because of him…and work. She hated having both elements holding her back. Ok, that sounded really bad. It made her seem like she hated her brother. To the contrary, Bryce loved Jack more than anything, including her parents. He was the only thing that kept her coming home for the holidays. But he was starting to weigh on her nerves. Nothing was wrong with the way she lived, and she hated people telling her there was something wrong with her life. Jack had a bad habit of doing that. It wasn’t like he didn’t realize he did it. He was well aware of the torture he was putting his sister through. He just didn’t much care because it was better for her health to not drink or smoke. Bryce had been dying for those two things. She was on edge and nervous a lot. Her manager noticed and asked her what was up. What was she supposed to tell him that sounded normal? He would just think she was crazy and tell her it was probably best that she was cleaning up her life. What she wished she could yell was that it wasn’t her choice.
Tonight, Bryce had a choice. Jack was off at his parents’ house, part of the agreement that was made in order for him to live with Bryce. It had been part of the deal for a while. He gladly went unless his sister was off work, which wasn’t very often that she was off on Friday or Saturday nights. She had learned her lesson, though. This time she did not inform her baby brother of her time off. Rather, she got dressed up in what she would typically wear to work, and sent him off to their parents’ home. She waited about hour before really getting ready to go out. She had it all planned. Her best friend was going to take her to a party in Port Angeles, though it wasn’t the best party spot. They were going to hang out and have a good time just like old times. Oh boy, it felt weird to say old times when it really had only been a couple of months. She remembered that party. It turned into an utter failure. She went to grasp the attention of one boy and drag him along. Her plan didn’t exactly backfire. It just didn’t work out. They spent the entire evening giving each other sarcastic comments. It ended in nothing special, not even her letting him think he was going to get something from her. She just walked away and never thought twice about it. Tonight could possibly turn out to be the same story. Who knew? Bryce certainly didn’t, but she was going to have fun with it while she could. It couldn’t hurt her. Well, it could have, but she was a big girl and she knew how to take care of herself. It made her feel so sad for all those girls here were innocent and didn’t know what to do when a guy made moves on her. She would hate to be that naïve at a party. Lucky for her, she knew how people at those parties worked. It made it that much easier to go out and not get in trouble; even her first party was easy to go to for the fact that she knew people and anticipated what they would do.
Bryce removed herself from her official spot on the couch and made her way to her bedroom in order to get ready. She wanted to be dressed before her friend got there. Last time, they all tried to dress her. It was impossible. She had to kick them all out eventually. Now she had alone time. This meant she didn’t have to lock herself up in her bathroom. However, that is the place she retreated in order to put on make-up. She had a way of doing this. She never wore much of it, just enough to define her features a little bit more, just enough to barely color her face. She enjoyed her theory. She didn’t look like a slut with the way she did her face. The girls at the party all looked like sluts if you asked Bryce. Their skirts were too short. Their tops were too tight and revealing. Bryce’s black dress was very simple. She chose a strapless one that hung on her loosely. Her heels went perfectly with it, as did the necklace she chose to wear. She wasn’t sure why she chose to dress up…somewhat, aside from the fact that she enjoyed wearing dressing to jeans.
With a small shrug, Bryce left the room all to hear a knock at the door the moment she walked out into the living room. Before she could get close enough to answer it, her two best friends burst in the door, one with arms wide open coming for her. ”Bryce! It’s been too long! We’ve missed you!” she exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around Bryce. Her other friend stood close with a big smile on her face and nodded before speaking. ”We have. I’m glad you finally decided to come with us.” Bryce rolled her eyes, ”It’s really not my fault. Jack won’t let me do anything. He watches me like a mothering hawk.” Chances were her friends would have laughed at her, but she glared at them, just daring them to say something. They both quickly retreated from saying anything. Instead they said their looking quiet for a moment before saying anything else. One finally spoke up. ”Are you ready to go, Bryce?” She nodded and grabbed her bag, shoved a few things in it, and then followed the other girls out and to the car. In no time at all, they were driving into the city limits of Port Angeles and to a random stranger’s house, obviously the location of this party they were going to.
In minutes, Bryce was inside and scoping out the party. She wasn’t looking for any special place to go. She wasn’t looking for boys to hook up with. She was looking for rooms. She found a bathroom. Then she found a room to run away to if she needed to escape a guy that was trying to hook up with her. Actually, it was more like a closet. Regardless, she found everything she needed. Then, she was off to find the alcohol. She managed to get her own glass of vodka, her first choice of drink anytime, and then made her way into the kitchen where she could drink in peace. That didn’t last long. A few moments later, she found herself on the back porch of the house smoking. She felt so much better. The weeks, months of doing without suddenly paid off with one inhalation of smoke. What was next?

Rhys looked over at his phone as it buzzed with text messages. He found it sad that people always text him when they were bored or when they wanted him to come to their parties. Not that he didn’t enjoy a party or two, but sometimes partying got old, and he didn’t enjoy it as much. He’d cut down since the accident, but he was inching to go out and have a good time with out getting in trouble. It seemed like a stretch because it was Rhys, and he was always getting in trouble, but this time he meant it. He didn’t want to have to give people heart attacks because he was in jail. Again. He wasn’t proud of going to jail, and he had to keep it on the DL because of people supposedly trying to ruin his father and the influence he had on the town. Oh whatever, Rhys couldn’t care less about that. That’s all his dad could think about. Not if Rhys was okay with everything going on, but if his reputation wasn’t tainted by his son. It was bull, Rhys wouldn’t be this way if his dad had paid more attention to him, but it was whatever now. He wouldn’t be the man he was today if it wasn’t for his dad and mom. She left, his dad paid no attention to him. Something was bound to mess him up some how, and now look what they have. Rhys looked at his phone, and flipped through all the texts he had. Five from Melissa, two from Amy, three from Caleb. Rhys was so annoyed with these girls. They didn’t mean anything to him, they were just an easy lay for him when he needed it. It sounded cruel, but Rhys just didn’t care about anyone besides Samara. She had been furious too when she found out about his little accident. She was the one who had bailed him out. He couldn’t thank her more, and said he would pay her back as soon as he could. He looked at the texts from Caleb, he was throwing a party tonight. Well, wasn’t that just dandy? Caleb threw the most memorable parties, and they were something everyone wanted to go too.
Rhys was deciding whether or not he wanted to go when he saw headlights pull into his drive way. Seeing as though his dad was so rich, and didn’t want his son around the main house, he’d made him a house in the back of the property. They could all have their space, and Rhys could throw all the parties he wanted with out breaking anything expensive. It was usual for people to show up at this time. Plus he was grounded, so he didn’t know who got past security. Rhys climbed out of his bed and descended downstairs right when his front door opened. Rhys saw himself looking at the infamous Riley Parker, one of his many girl friends, not in the dating way, but in the friend way. Her long blonde hair was curled, and she was wearing a short pink dress. She was dressed to party. She smiled at him, and the smiled reached her blue eyes. ”It’s time to get break you out.” Rhys looked at her curiously, and laughed. She had took the liberty of picking out his clothes, and shoes. He found it odd, but whatever worked. Apparently she wasn’t alone in the act of breaking him out. Caleb was in on it, as was John and Andrew, other friends of his. It wasn’t odd that they would stage such a thing. Rhys quickly changed into the clothes that were brought for him, and jumped into the car with his friends.
Twenty minutes later he found himself at a party. Weeks, weeks, since he had been to a party, and it felt good to be back. He didn’t chose to ignore all the invites for parties, but his dad kept security tight when he was grounded. No shock there really. Rhys quickly shifted throw the crowd to the bar, and found himself a drink. Rhys swore that he wouldn’t drink that much tonight, and he planned to kept that promise, but he didn’t know for sure. He took a sip, and went to the dance floor to dance a little. The music wasn’t the best, so he went to the DJ and told him to play better music. It didn’t shock him that they listened either. Most people didn’t say no, so Rhys went back to the dance floor with girls at his arm. After an hour of dancing, Rhys decided he needed a smoke. He walked outside to the smoke area, and lit one up. Rhys glanced over to see a girl, he hadn’t seen her before. Rhys smirked silently to himself, then walked over to sit next to her. ”Hey, I’m Rhys,” He said it casually. He was just trying to make conversation. He normally didn’t do this kind of thing. Okay, maybe he did, but he didn’t know this girl. She looked familiar, but he didn’t always remember things that well. That didn’t shock people either.

the party starts with youand me all alone and no one has to know
Bryce, ever the modest one, liked to think of herself as the classy kind of girl at these parties, if parties had a classy girl. She deemed herself sophisticated on a normal day when she was just at work, why not at a party, too. She had reason to say that. That thought was ever so obvious as she looked out and saw a room of girls and guys grow drunker by the second and start to hang all over each other. In fact, she had her eyes on a certain group of people to see how long it would take before the domino effect was in action. If one fell over, she was willing to bet they would all fall over. Bryce chuckled sarcastically and turned back around to just look out at the scenery that was behind the house. Things always seemed to be boring when she was around. Did she bring that along with her? It wasn’t like she thought herself to be a boring person at all. Actually, she was extremely cautious. Bryce kept her distance from people on purpose. Her parents, after seeing her act out, never thought she would make it out of high school without a criminal record or a baby on her hip. She had managed to escape from both possible situations. She hated being underestimated, too. Perhaps that was why she had proved her parents wrong by not becoming a drug addict or a mother by the time she graduated high school. She couldn’t stand people trying to guess what she was going to do or tell her that she was going to be something she knew she wasn’t. Considering that, maybe they had told her those things as motivation to make sure she at least graduated high school and enrolled in some sort of community college. Now she was calling this all a trick! But at least she had brains enough to actually do something with her life rather than waste it all away. She also had better sense than to get extremely involved with anyone she met at parties, like that one guy that tried to hook up with her. She liked to think she showed him who was boss by leaving him alone upstairs.
Honestly, it wasn’t often that some random stranger managed to get Bryce upstairs. When they did, she never really did anything with them. She thought of her brother. Thank you Jack for messing with her social life! She didn’t want to disappoint him. He put her on such a pedestal, looked up to her like no one really should have, and worried for her that she would become something that would ruin her life. She spent most of her time trying to be what he always knew she could be, though it took more effort that it was worth in her opinion. Still, this was her brother. If she put him under any stress….well, she wasn’t quite sure how the outcome would be. If it would have a negative effect on him, she didn’t want to be the one that had caused it. She would leave that to their overbearing parents, who thought they knew everything. No need causing stress to the one person who was her ally. They even trained her sisters, Grace and Beth, to dislike Bryce to some degree. There was no way she was going to make Jack hate her for anything. That was why she was currently the lifeless of the party. Well, there was that and the fact that her brother was likely to call her in a few minutes and she didn’t want to sound like she was intoxicated. That would only be bad for her because she didn’t need her younger brother telling her how wrong she was for things.
Time passed and Bryce was just about ready to call her brother herself so she could return inside. She was just about to grab her phone from her pocket when she suddenly wasn’t alone anymore. She sighed, dropped what was left of her cigarette to the ground, and stomped on it to put it out. It wasn’t like she was mad to be joined outside. Bryce didn’t have a problem with people at all. It was just that she wasn’t all too sure what to think about people when she met them. She didn’t judge them. They just seemed to always judge her. It always made her wonder what was going through his mind. What did he think the first time he laid his eyes on her? The possibilities were endless. People usually thought she was some sort of alcoholic and that she needed some sort of help for a problem that didn’t exist when you actually thought about it. ”Hey Rhys,” she nodded. Bryce debated on whether or not to introduce herself. Better yet, should she use her real name when introducing herself or giving him a fake one. She didn’t have the energy to think about it. It wasn’t worth it. She probably wouldn’t remember the name she gave him. ”I’m Bryce.” Now, she waited for the comment on how that was a boy’s name.

Rhys Kavine Tolvn I've become what a mother wouldn't want in a son, and I've done a few things I regret. WEARING ?! STUCK IN MY HEAD ?! As a single minded guy, Rhys knew very well that he was far from the “proper” guy. He didn’t like to think of girls as dating material, to him they were basically a score. Now, that sounded really bad when Rhys thought about it, but it was true. He was a straight up honest person, so him saying that to someone wouldn’t shock him at all, he’d probably laugh too. Rhys didn’t like to think of himself as a bad person, just a guy with no morals, and really didn’t give a crap about other people. He just wasn’t the caring type, especially for his family. The only real person he would say he cared about was Samara, she was like his sister. The sister he didn’t have, and he felt really protective of her, and he probably would never change that either. He had never really thought of Samara in the “getting laid” kind of way, right of the start it was older brother love. Not saying that she wasn’t beautiful or anything like that, she just always came off strong and superior to Rhys, and he found that a good trait, and liked her for it. On the thought of Samara, Rhys felt really bad for her because she had just found out that she had a twin brother she never knew about. Talk about suck ass timing on that dudes part, and her parents part. Rhys, in his God-like mind, thought that her parents should have told her when she was older, and not keep something like that from her. Like seriously, who does that?! Rhys would be beyond pissed if his dad with held information like that from him. He thought that it was Samara’s right to know whom she shared a womb with when she was little.
In honest truth, no one could stop Rhys from doing what he wanted. He liked to be in control of his life, and he planned to keep it that way. His father was always telling him that one day some girl was going to come waltzing into his life, and change him completely. Rhys, of course, had a smart ass comment to say back to him, that no girl could change because they didn’t stay in his life long enough to do so. His father thought that Rhys was the most disrespectful kid on the plant because of the way he treated people. Rhys couldn’t help that he was a charmer when he wanted to be, and then a complete asshole the next. It was just Rhys, and there wasn’t anything that people could do to change it unless they offered him a trillion dollars or killed him. Even if someone did manage to kill him, he’d still be a jerk to people. He’d come back and haunt people just for fun. Just like at this party, Rhys flirted with all the girls, even the ones that were taken. He didn’t care, as long as he was having a good old time and had a drink in his hand. Now, Rhys wasn’t one to strike up a random conversation unless it gave him benefit, but sometimes Rhys was just a nice guy and liked to strike up a conversation that had meaning to it. Ha! Who was he kidding, that never happened, and he was pretty sure it wouldn’t ever happen either.
Rhys knew that he wasn’t the best choice of company when it came to women. He was a pain in the ass, and he knew it, but he could say that he honestly didn’t care. He knew how to be smooth with the ladies, and how to work his little magic, and when not too. Being outside with this girl, he turned off the jackass jerk, and put on the charming, and friendly Rhys. He wasn’t exactly going to flirt with her, but he was going to be nice, which would result in him flirting with her. He couldn’t help but flirt with cute girls, it was like a second nature to him. Rhys shrugged, and took another hit of his cigarette. ”Cute name, if I may say so,” Rhys told her lightly. Rhys didn’t even stop to think that her name might have been a boys name, not that it didn’t matter. Rhys’s name was like spelled the British way, and people always mispronounced his name. ”Some party, eh? It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been on a party scene myself,”
he leaned back against the chair, and took one last hit of the cigarette, threw it to the ground, and stomped it out. [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGS?!
