you've gotta help meout. it's all a blur last night
Chloe didn’t normally talk to strangers. She knew for someone who had come from the family she had, it was very normal to feel things for other people, and feel like she could connect with them. However, she didn’t fall under the category of stereotypical girl who’s family didn’t care about her. She was supposed to naturally cling to people. Chloe didn’t do that. She was more to herself and let people walk all over her. Nate, though, was the first person Chloe met that ever showed her compassion. She could have been just so drunk that she wanted help, though. She wasn’t going to say that. Even if she was drunk, she knew who she was with and she had a feel of who he was. He genuinely wanted to make sure she came out of it ok. She likes thinking that anyway. Thus, she would continue to feel as though their meeting had been destiny. Ha! That was funny for a girl that never really believed in destiny of any sort. If there was such a thing as destiny, she would have gotten out of her family’s house a long time ago.
When did they get to the hospital? Chloe had spent the entire time staring out the window. She didn’t even know how they got there. She didn’t even remember answering him or turning around to look at him. That couldn’t be a good sign. Oh man! This wasn’t going to end well. It really was a good idea for him to go with her. Chloe nibbled on her bottom lip and waited as he walked around the car. It gave her time to think about what he said. ”Ha! Don’t you have a family to go home to?” she questioned as he took her into his arms to carry her into the hospital. She couldn’t be the only person left out in the cold, but she surely hoped no one else had to deal with what she had. Everyone needed a family. ”I wouldn’t mind at all, but if you need to go home, don’t let me be the one to keep you here. I think I can survive, maybe.” She wouldn’t be opposed if he stayed. She didn’t like these places all that much. But she understood if he had a family that was actually worth seeing. Chloe would love to have a family like that, but it wasn’t meant to be like that. She was supposed to have this shitty life, she guessed. She never questioned or argued with the things that had happened. They were that way for a reason. She just had to figure out how to be more independent.
It seemed Chloe was happy wherever people put her. In Nate’s arms she felt comfortable. She fell asleep, kind of, as he carried her into the hospital. The only problem was it didn’t last long. Chloe was sure she wasn’t the only person who detested walking from a dark place into one that was very well lit. It hurt your eyes. She actually almost wanted to cry. It gave her major headaches. Considering she already had one, this really wasn’t good. She buried her head in Nate so that she couldn’t see the light. ”Make them dim the lights!” Upon hearing what she demanded, Chloe giggled. Nate had no control over the light. She knew that, but it didn’t keep her from demanding anything. After a few moments her giggles stopped and she took a few breaths. She began to wonder how much longer it would be before they had her in a room and what they were going to do to her. She had horror stories about drug abusers who walked in and had their stomachs pumped. It wasn’t as though she had intentionally done anything to put herself in this position. She just happened to be there. What was she supposed to do to change it? Chloe couldn’t take back what happened at the bar. If she could, she definitely would. The simple fact was, she didn’t have that ability. But she didn’t want to be asked a dozen questions. Why was she at the bar when she was underage? Why was she dumb enough to trust some guy and let him get her this way? It was going to be a long night. She already knew that.

Nate was really liking Chloe. Given, she was totally wasted and drugged right now but she was still adorable to him. Even given her situation right now. But he wasn't one to judge. He was recovering from what he had done in his past as well. So, he totally understood where she was coming from. Poor Chloe she probably didn't have much of a family support. Or hell even a good family to be there for her. Nate did but he didn't feel like he was wanted that much anymore. Well now he knew that wasn't the issue now because he had his baby sister to be there for. He wanted to be her role model and he wanted her to come to him whenever she needed someone. His baby sister was the world to him. After tonight he was hoping that Chloe could come to him for anything at all. Nate wasn't going to leave her behind or abandon her. Because that was just down right wrong and terrible for anyone to do. She seemed like a sweet and good girl. Sure, she might have some rough edges but who didn't? He wondered what was going through her mind as of right now. He wanted to ask her but he wouldn't. Getting her to the hospital was more important to him and making sure she was okay.
Nate was glad that they were finally here. Now he could make sure she was going to be okay and make it through the night. That was all he cared about. Chloe was probably surprised that they had gotten here so quickly. But it was a important reason to drive like a maniac on the road to get her here. After all who knows what booze and the drugs that guy gave her could do to her. They'd probably flush out her system. He smiled as she worried about him having a family to go home to. "Sure, I do but they are all sleeping by now. And you need me more than they do."
[/b] Nate replied to her as he carried her to the hospital. "I think I should stay with you. So, you'll be okay and not alone. No one likes being alone especially in the hospital. At least that's what I think."[/b] He liked how she was concerned about him not being with his family right now. But the thing was. Chloe was more important than going home and falling asleep on his bed. No one was up at his house anyways. Nate probably should have called his parents and he would once they got Chloe into a room. He was glad that he could be here for her tonight. He didn't want to think about what would of happen to her if he hadn't been or if she were to drive home. All he got from thinking of that was bad thoughts. Thoughts he didn't want to even think about right now. Nate looked down as they got into the hospital finally. Chloe was half asleep til they got to a desk where a lady was working, well a nurse. The lights were so bright and Nate knew that it was going to bug Chloe. He laughed when she had said for them to dim the lights. Well, for him to make them dim the lights. Sure, Nate would have if he had that kind of control over these people but he was just a citizen. "I would make them if I could."[/b] She had demanded that and he didn't know what else she could be demanding over but it was funny to say the least. The nurse had taken down her information and took them into a room where they were probably going to test Chloe. Of course she was going to have to give blood to see what kind of drug she was given. Nate laughed because she was going to have to wear one of those awful gowns they made you wear that showed your backside cause you could only tie it together. "I'll come back when you have the gown on unless you want me to help you out.? I promise I wont look."[/b] Sure, he'd like to look but he wasn't a creeper. Nate was just a regular kind of guy. What guy wouldn't want to see her backside.? He continued to laugh to himself as he thought about it more. [/size][/blockquote]

Chloe felt completely comfortable. That was saying something considering where she had come from. Her parents were horrible. Rather, her mother was horrible, and Chloe wasn’t about to give her step father the satisfaction of her true love when she was so angry that he was with her mother to begin with. Nate was something different, though. It may have been that he was offering a kind touch to make her feel better and save her life. She didn’t know what it was, but Chloe did know her heart was pounding just with him being around. It was as though she found the person for her. They were meant to be, if you asked her. At least, that was what she was going to say. Ok, she really knew that was a silly idea. She had just met him. On top of that, she was drunk when they met. She must have seemed extremely naïve to him. Only someone who was that way would actually let someone take advantage of them the way that jerk had. Then again, it took someone with true compassion to take care of her the way he did. She had to consider that one, too. Was that a sign? She kind of wanted it to be in a twisted way. It kind of was. Most people would have let her get in trouble. Then again, he probably had a sister that he never wanted to see that kind of thing happen to.
With that thought, Chloe’s hopes and dreams of having found someone slowly faded away. She was overcome with sadness and the feeling that she wasn’t good enough for anyone. Hope came back alive when Nate said she needed him more than his family did. He wasn’t sure how true that statement was. He didn’t even know her. He could drop her off and leave. He didn’t have to stay with her. The hospital would probably call her parents to get her if things were too bad, not that she would enjoy that much. She’d probably beg for someone else to come get her. She had friends that would gladly get her, that was assuming the cops wouldn’t want to arrest her. Really, what had she done wrong? She just accepted a drink from someone she didn’t know. That didn’t mean she had to know it was alcoholic, right? That was her story and she was sticking to it. ”No, I really hate being at hospitals in the first place, let alone being alone.” She wasn’t going to argue with him if he wanted to stay. Instead, Chloe was going to count her blessings and be grateful that Nate was at least there for her, like her own personal guardian angel. There went her thoughts again to what could be. She wondered if that was part of being high and drunk at the same time. She knew both feelings…separately, but not the two of them together. Yep, that’s what she was blaming this odd feeling on.
Hospitals were not one of Chloe’s favorite places. As she laid there in the bed they gave her, she wondered why they made them look the way they did. They were bright, cold, and reeked of disease if you asked her. She hated these places. They were cold and terrifying. As much as she wished that Nate’s presence made that better, it didn’t. She was afraid she was going to die and there was no amount of reassurance that would make her feel better about it. Death was not on her list of things to accomplish this year, but it only seemed as though she was getting closer and closer to it with each mistake she made. ”It’s the thought that counts,” Chloe said sweetly as she hid her nerves from him. There was no need for him to have to see that one, was there? His joking didn’t help a lot, either. She laughed, though, in the effort to keep how she really felt about all of this hidden. She still didn’t know him and he could do anything got her or use anything against her, not that she thought he was that type of guy, but anything was possible. ”I think I’ll just have to trust that you won’t look as I’m having a hard time standing on my own two feet,” she smiled and laughed. Ok, maybe he did make her feel a little more at ease.
