Hayden didn't quite know what to do in his life right now. He knew he had to make something of him and Dolly. They had been through a whole lot this year. He did love her though, he was sure of that. The only thing he ever was sure of was her and his feelings towards her. He had woke up in a daze. Maybe from doing some of that pot. But it took the stress away for the day. It wasn't like he was some big pothead. Hayden had some brain cells left in his head. He got up from their bed and took a shower. Dolly was still sleeping so he was going to leave her there while he did something. Something special for her. After he got out of the shower, he put some clothes on and sprayed some cologne on himself. Then he had written Dolly a note so she wouldn't freak out when she awoke to him not being right next to her or with his arms around her. Hayden hated leaving her alone but he wanted to get something very special for her. And Dolly couldn't be with him when he got it of course. Cause then it wouldn't be such a surprise. He grinned after he got done writing his note and placed it in his spot on the bed. She'd find it when she woke up. If not he knew she'd be calling his cell. Hell, Dolly would have probably still called his cell anyways to see what he was up to. The note had said:
Hey babes,
I just went out to the store in Port Angeles. I'll be back in an hour or so. Don't miss me too much. I'll miss you tons but I'll get back as soon as I can. Muah.
Love you,
Hayden. xoxox
That was all the note had said. He wasn't going to even say he was gone to get her something. Because then she would have called him asking what he was going to get her. And he wasn't going to give it up to anyone. Hayden had stashed some money away for this occasion. He was going to Port Angeles to get her a promise ring. He wanted something not too expensive but not cheap either. He wasn't some cheapo when it came to his girl. Dolly had been there for him through thick and thin. Hayden didn't know what he'd do without her. So, he wanted to make a promise to her. And well promise rings were just for that. He wasn't ready for a engagement nor marriage. So, the promise ring came first. But he hoped that they would become husband and wife later down the road. He had always loved her since the first day he had laid his eyes on her. That was when he fell in love for the first time ever in his life. He had lost his virginity to her as well. So, he had done all of his first times with Dolly. Dolly was such a wonderful girlfriend. Well, he looked at her being his soul mate. She supported him even when he didn't think she should have supported his ass through somethings. They never had it easy and well he had to come back his sister. Back to lovely, wonderful Forks. The place he had ran from a long time ago. His sister needed him though and he was glad Dolly had joined him. He needed someone to help him with her. Dolly and his sister got along pretty good too. So, it was good in the household.
Hayden hadn't seen his sister home. It was a weekend. So, she wasn't at school. She was probably at a friends house. That's where she usually was when Hayden went looking for her. Hayden and his sister had gone through a lot of crap growing up with their parents. It was the past that kept creeping up on him and haunting him. That was mostly why he had gone through the drug daze and alcohol was a friend of his then. But he had been sober for months. Pot, wasn't a drug to Hayden. It took some stress off of him and everything else around him. He really didn't do it that much. Maybe once a week if that. It depended on what happened that week to make him so stressed out. Most of the time he just was happy to have Dolly and his sister. The only two people in his life that he knew would always love him. He had gotten downstairs and left the house through the back door. Hayden locked all of the doors because you couldn't be too careful around here. That was a fact. He quickly ran to his truck and started the engine. He was off before he knew it. Hayden just didn't want Dolly to wake up or run out to the vehicle. Cause he wanted to go alone on this. He had to.
Up ahead came Port Angeles sign. Nice, he had made it here under an hour. Maybe less than that, he didn't really know nor cared. Hayden had came to one of the jewelry places in the town. He walked into the place and smiled at some of the workers as he looked at each aisle. He had asked where the promise rings were. A kind lady helped him and showed him to the counter, where they were. He smiled as he looked at each single one. This was going to be hard. Not an easy decision when it came to his sweetheart. Hayden was thinking of engraving the ring in the inside with their names together and when they got together, officially. He couldn't wait to get one and give it to Dolly. She'd probably cry or something. He hadn't really made her too upset over the years. Hayden tried to give her everything he could. Sometimes it was hard but in the end it was worth it. To see her smiling face. Even if he'd have to slave all day with different jobs to get her what she wanted, he'd do it. Just for his Dolly.
