let’s make a scenelike the movies in our dreams• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Blushing was definitely not something Skylar had expected from Amelie, mostly because she had never done it around him. He threw out compliments to her left and right and she took them in stride. They never made her blush. She took them and ran with them in a way. They never bothered her. He even flirted with her and she did absolutely nothing. Perhaps now that they were alone and were sitting down to talk to one another, not to mention this whole thing looked like a date, she was acting differently. He knew he felt a little odd. Sky did like Ameilie. He would never deny those feelings. It suddenly felt as though they were running him over all at one time. He felt nervous, but it wasn’t in a bad way. It was more or less butterflies in his stomach. However, he did a good job of not showing how he felt. It helped that he could tease her about her coloring. He laughed when she threw her hands over her face, probably growing redder than she already was. Sky reached across the table and grabbed her hands, trying to force them away from her face. ”Hey, now, no covering up your face,” he smiled and laughed hoping that could convince her to remove her hands from her face. ”I know you’re embarrassed about blushing, but don’t hide that beautiful face, alright?” He leaned back in his chair upon saying that and returned to reading the menu over, deciding on what his stomach was hungry for. Still, he couldn’t get some things off his mind.
Many people would call Skylar a big goofball. That he wasn’t very serious and never took anything seriously. For the most part, they were probably right. He certainly liked to flirt, something he caught himself doing with Ameilie. Well, caught wasn’t the right thing to say. He was well aware that he was flirting with her and he couldn’t control himself, not from the first time they met. Hello?! She was gorgeous and, past her hard exterior, she was amazingly sweet. People didn’t look past her appearance and how she carried herself. Sky, however, always saw past things like that. He was never a very judgmental person because he had flaws and habits that people would consider annoying. After all, he did wake up hung over in his front yard when his mom set the sprinklers off one morning. So, he wasn’t “perfect.” He never claimed to be and probably never would. So, it didn’t make it a habit of just labeling people. He didn’t look at Amelie and see someone who was snotty and rich and spoiled. He saw her as a person with a personality. If anything, her attitude only made him more willing to get to know her. How could Sky give up the opportunity to see what was really there? What was underneath her exterior? What lied within her and made her the person she was.
As Amelie spoke, Skylar listened very closely. He didn’t do what most guys did. He didn’t stare at a girl and make it look as though he was listening to what she said. He honestly listened. He took in each word and let it absorb into his head. He concentrated. He wasn’t faking being interested in what she had to say. Skylar was truly interested in the things she had to say. He wanted to know everything, how she grew up and her opinion on things. He was about to respond to what she said when the waitress came over with their drinks and asked if they were ready to order. Never once did Sky’s eyes leave Amelie when he spoke to the waitress. ”Yeah, parmesan chicken pasta, please.” Did it annoy the waitress that he refused to look at her? He wondered if he had that same charm James did. Girls were instantly attracted to him and demanded his attention. Sky was pretty sure that with Kiley in his life, girls must be highly pissed that all his time focused on someone else. The waitress sighed and turned to Amelie, ”And you?”
Upon the waitress’ departure, Skylar went back to focusing on what Amelie had said before they were approached once again. He wasn’t exactly what he was supposed to feel for her. He sort of felt sad that she didn’t really have anything. Her parents were gone. Her grandmother was gone. The only thing she really had was money, something Sky couldn’t exactly relate to. He and his family had always had just enough to get by and live comfortably. They never had excess of anything. He would love to sympathize with her about things, but he wasn’t sure how he could do that. Sky really had to consider what he was going to say to Amelie. It took time. ”It’s pretty ironic that you ended up here, isn’t it?” he nodded, ”I’m here by force because my parents didn’t know what else to do with me, but you’re here by choice. Why Forks? It’s so much different than a place like LA. Why didn’t you get away when you had the chance?” He wasn’t saying he wanted her gone. He was really happy that she remained in Forks. How else was he going to meet her? Skylar knew there was no chance in hell he would ever end up in Los Angeles. He had no motivation to go there. Well, if Amelie moved there now he had some motivation, but before…not so much. No, he was really glad that she was still in Forks, even after her grandmother passed away.

- - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING CAUSE EVERYTHING YOU DO
Hey now, no covering up your face. I know you’re embarrassed about blushing, but don’t hide that beautiful face, alright?
”Well, you’re really not helping,” she told him, allowing her small hands to fall from her face. She stared at him, loving how he tried to act so nonchalant after his comment. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was trying to act like he didn’t care. She experienced this from him before. She picked up her own menu, trying to act like his comment didn’t affect her either. Truth was, they did. She was never called beautiful seriously. Did he mean it seriously? Of course, she heard it from random guys at school and even from tabloid magazines, but those guys from school were just trying to get into her pants and the tabloid magazines made sure they treated people they wanted to keep helping them sell magazines nicely. Amelie was that kind of girl. They were never really able to target her poor dress or evil tendencies because she was always sure to be perfect and polite out in public. She never purposely was mean to anyone. But no one dared mess with her. People would automatically take her side. Young Hollywood Starlet orphaned at such a young age and now forced to live on her own. Was it difficult to live on her own? Heck no. But it still made people feel sorry for her even though they shouldn’t. But at least it kept bad things out of the tabloids.
The waitress came to order their food and seemed to leave in a huff. Amelie just stared after her, wondering what the hell her problem was. But the moment she turned her eyes back to Sky and noticed his eyes just staring at her, as if trying with great difficulty to peer into her soul, she knew. It really brought a smirk to her face, but also sort of irritated her. That waitress was lucky to be waiting on them. Amelie would have left her a decent tip if she wasn’t so annoying. But she was trying to hit on Amelie’s man. Well, he wasn’t her man. Yet She didn’t want to give herself false hope, but she sort of hoped that maybe they would become something. This little lunch date they were having, (if it was a date) had to be the beginning of something. They were getting to know each other. They were talking and having a good time. Maybe this was just the beginning? Who knew?
After she had told him the jist of her life and what brought her to this small, unknown city, there was a little silence. Amelie continued to sip on her drink, her eyes wandering over the restaurant. It’s pretty ironic that you ended up here, isn’t it? Her eyes snapped back to him. I’m here by force because my parents didn’t know what else to do with me, but you’re here by choice. Why Forks? It’s so much different than a place like L.A. Why didn’t you get away when you had the chance? Amelie sighed and looked down at her hands. ”It really is different from L.A. L.A is a very fast paced town. Not everyone really knows everyone. I loved it there. But something made me feel like I just had to stay here. Trust me, when I got my inheritance, I was literally planning on leaving. I wanted nothing more than to get back to where I was from. But then, I don’t know. Meeting you kind of changed my mind too…” Once again, her pale skin colored and she went back to staring down at her hands.

let's make a scenelike the movies in our dreams
Oh, Skylar knew he wasn’t helping her blushing any. It was why he did it after all. He liked seeing girls blush. Scratch that! He liked knowing he had the ability to make Amelie blush. That was pretty much it. He didn’t care about other girls, not really. When he found someone he liked, and he really did like Amelie, Sky’s focus didn’t go to other girls. He had a great attention span when it came to girls. He was smart enough to know what he was doing. He wasn’t dumb. He also knew that girls didn’t like when you paid attention to other girls. If you had a desire to date one of them, you didn’t go out and chase another. That was the way he saw things. His best friend hadn’t exactly had the same point of view, but Skylar always felt that way. He didn’t manipulate or take advantage of girls. He didn’t see why he would ever want to do that. Girls and partying and liquor were not important things to him. He figured he did a good job proving that to people. He was a pretty honest person. Well, most of the time. He liked to tease people, like he was about to do to Amelie. ”Really? I’m not? I thought I was doing a great job at helping you with your blushing.” He gave her a sly smile. He was evil, wasn’t he? It wasn’t in a sadistic way. He just enjoyed seeing what she would do next because of what he said. She was hoping she would blush more, in a mean sort of way. Damn! He was a horrible person, but he was enjoying every minute of this.
Why did Skylar find so much humor out of waitress’s reaction? He knew why. He never viewed himself as anything special. He wasn’t good looking in his opinion. He honestly had to work for a shot with anyone. Danielle had proved to be no easy task for him. Sky didn’t regret that chase, though. Sure, it had taken him a nice long time to get anywhere and the heartbreak was near unbearable, but they had a good relationship. He learned a lot from her. All of those things he wanted to prove he could do for Amelie, assuming she would let him have the chance to prove any of it. Either way, he wasn’t going to show the waitress who he had just met the kind of guy he could be, and prove to her that he was good boyfriend material. That would just be absurd. Upon having Amelie’s attention back, Sky smiled to himself. He was odd in that way. But he wasn’t ashamed that he was staring at her either. It made him happy to.
Skylar listened to Amelie explain as he drank some of his drink. Los Angeles and Forks were two very different places. One was constantly busy and full of tourists while the other was quiet and not exactly what one would call a resort town. Personally, he preferred Forks. He was almost ashamed to admit that. So much had happened to him that it was nice to find somewhere quiet to be. He wasn’t surrounded by people he knew either. That made it better. He could start over fresh. Forks was working out in Sky’s favor. He couldn’t help but smile when she finished what she was saying. At least he wasn’t blushing! ”Me? Really?” It wasn’t that he wasn’t flattered. He just never heard someone say something like that before, not even Danielle. She always told him that she loved him, but she was not going to give up her life for him. ”Now, I think you’re going to make me blush.”

- - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING CAUSE EVERYTHING YOU DO
She wanted to finally know what it was like to be in a relationship with someone. All of her years with guys consisted of nothing more than making out and screwing each other. It wasn’t exactly the reputation she wanted but that was the only way guys would pay attention to her and she craved that attention. For once, she wanted a relationship. It didn’t have to be with the person she was going to marry and spend the rest of her life with : finding that person this early in life and from your first relationship was quite the rarity. But she just wanted to have someone she could call her boyfriend. Someone she could say she loved. Someone she could hold hands with and cuddle with. Someone she could fall asleep with and wake up beside them. Someone she could run to when she need to cry even if she did look like crap. She just wanted that boy that she knew she could depend on for everything and anything she needed. That was the kind of relationship she wanted right now and just maybe she was sitting across the table from that person that could give all that to her.
Skylar was unlike any other guy she had ever met, and she wasn’t just saying that because was cute or anything. He was genuine. He didn’t pretend to be something that he wasn’t and he didn’t put up a front when he was in a large group. He had been real with Amelie since that party they had first met at. He always picked on her, but not be mean. It was all playful and of course Amelie loved that. But she loved how, when he wanted to be real, he was. He as a great listener, you could tell he absorbed everything everyone said and he was honest in what he said in reply. Amelie had a feeling she could come to him for advice if she needed or something. He seemed like that kind of person who gave some pretty kick ass advice. She just wished she could get him to ask her out for real. This whole Ruby Tuesday’s thing was something out of the blue. It wasn’t an official date. More like two friends trying to get to know each other a little better. She didn’t want to rush things either. Amelie wasn’t that kind of girl that went on a lunch date and expected to be boyfriend and girlfriend the same day. That was a little too forward and even a girl who never had an offical boyfriend knew that that was a HUGE turn off for guys. She didn’t want to turn Sky off. If anything, she wanted him to get closer to her so that they could potentially have something.
The waitress arrived at their table with their meals and laid them out in front of them. Damn, this food smelled so good and Amelie already knew she would have to go for a run and hit the gym to burn off all the calories from this. She was the kind of girl who could eat something without gaining a pound but she had a feeling that someday that could all change and she wanted to keep it from happening now so she didn’t get all fat and stuff. She put her napkin on her lap before grabbing her utensils for her Chicken Parmesan Pasta. Sky made the comment of Amlie making him blush and she laughed. ”Doubt that’s a first or anything. But I shall say we are even,” she told him. ”But it’s the truth, you know? I wouldn’t lie to you.”

let's make a scenelike the movies in our dreams
Was it a little awkward that Skylar was a bit terrified? He wasn’t scared of Amelie. That would just be ridiculous. Actually, he was more or less scared of the feelings he had. Sky never thought he would be scared of anything. He jumped into everything with no fear, even relationships, but he took into serious consideration that one of those relationships actually left him very hurt. Ending his fling, as she so politely called it the day they broke up, left a huge hole in him that had him acting out. He was so ashamed of himself the morning his mother woke up to find him on the front lawn passed out. He was embarrassed of himself and for her. There was no telling how many people had driven by to find him there. Still, he realized now, that it wasn’t a bad thing that they had broken up. It was meant to happen. She had someone out there for her that wasn’t Skylar. And he had someone that wasn’t Danielle. He thought in his mind what would happen if she came back to him, telling him it was a mistake and she wanted to be with him. Now, if only because of the girl sitting with him, he knew he would say no.
That seemed a bit overzealous, though. Who was to say Amelie wanted to even date Skylar? What it meant for him was that now he knew he had the ability to be able to actually like someone that wasn’t Danielle. It felt good to know that he was no longer dependent on that sort of thing. He hated the feeling it gave him when he was left alone without her. It was like someone had taken the best part of him and put through a blender. It was like your first pet dying the year you graduated high school. He hated comparing it to that because it made him sound desperate, but he still felt hurt that way. Now, he was better. He couldn’t exactly say that he would end up with Amelie, but Sky liked the idea. He wanted to at least give them a try, but he was also smart enough to know that it took time before to start an actual relationship with her. He needed time to develop the courage to ask her, to be comfortable with her, and to fully determine whether or not Ameilie had feelings for him. This “date” was step one. At least, that was what he was calling it. Actually, it was more like step four. There was meeting each other, getting to know general information about each other, and proving that he was trustworthy. All three of those out of the way, now it was getting to know a little more personal things about each other. But what did he want to know about her?
Skylar thought for a few moments and stared at what he had ordered. ”No, not the first time at all. I have I two older sisters, remember? They did a lot of embarrassing me,” he laughed, ”I’m glad I changed your mind, though. How else am I supposed to survive Forks without you?”
He began to eat and continued thinking of what to ask her. Sky settled on a very general. ”So, tell me something about you that I don’t know.” That would work, right? He sure hoped it would. What was the worst she could do…lie to him? Sky would understand completely. It was kind of prying. It may have been too soon to pry. He didn’t know. He didn’t keep a rule book. That was kind of lame anyway. He just went with the flow and played it all by ear. Hopefully, she wasn’t offended by his question. - - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING CAUSE EVERYTHING YOU DO
Amelie felt a tad bit awkward too, to be perfectly honest. She didn’t know what it was that she was feeling. She knew she had a crush on Sky. Everytime she looked at him, her stomach fluttered a little and it was like a Hollywood movie. You know what I mean. When the girl sees their really hot guy for a first time and the scene turns fuzzy like a dream and romantic music plays in the background. Yupp, just like that. That was how Amelie felt whenever she looked at Sky. Everything she felt when she looked at him was like a movie. That was so cheesy, wasn’t it? But no one can control emotions, and Amelie was no different. He made her feel unlike anything else. And, even though the two of them hadn’t even kissed yet…or held hands for that matter, Amelie knew that if and when it ever happened, she would feel fireworks. Her mind would go dizzy and her knees would tremble and…yeah enough daydreaming. All Amelie needed was to start drooling in front of Sky and bee utterly embarrassed. Ugh. Amelie smiled at Sky as she ate her food, trying to play off the fact that her mind had completely entered her own fantasy world for about 5 minutes or so.
No, not the first time at all. I have I two older sisters, remember? They did a lot of embarrassing me. I’m glad I changed your mind, though. How else am I supposed to survive Forks without you?
The redhead laughed and shrugged her shoulders. ”I have no idea. Who would you have to entertain you at parties or give you an ego boost by being jealous when other girls talk or even look at you? I’m telling you, I’m the reason you’ve survived this small town for as long as you have,” she told him before waving her hand away. ”I’m totally kidding, you know that. I just think friends help make things so much better and I think we’ve done that for each other. Trust me, I’ve had some crappy days and then we go to a party together and everything is awesome again. I like that. It makes living in this small town worth it.” She took a bite out of her food and chewed and swallowed before talking again. ”We should go to LA one week, though. I think you would love it.” Amelie missed LA, even though she was very young when she had left. But she still had memories. She still had the family mansion in Beverly Hills. She missed the shopping and the atmosphere. LA was appealing whether people believed it or not.
When asked to tell him something about herself he didn’t know, she blanked. She wasn’t sure of what to tell him. She told him about her family and her past. He knew how crappy she thought Forks was. What else was there to tell? She merely shrugged her shoulders, her mind blank. ”I don’t know. Is there anything specific you’re looking for? My mind is drawing a blank.”

let's make a scenelike the movies in our dreams
Skylar never thought himself as a “ladies man.” He always gave that title to his friends, and with good reason. It was pretty much unanimous throughout school that they were much better looking than him. That didn’t shake his confidence. He was still just that out going boy that people loved to befriend if only because he constantly wore a smile and was always friendly. Girls just didn’t naturally attract to him. Sky feared that was the problem with Amelie. They were fantastic friends, but he wasn’t sure what she thought of him as more than friends. That was pretty much why the only relationship he had taken seriously was his one with Danielle. She sat him down and told him exactly how she felt whether he liked it or not. Amelie was a different story, and if she was giving out subtle hints, he sure as hell was not picking up on them. Then again, would anyone really expect him, too? He wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box. He needed a sign, like a big flashing neon one in the window fronts of stores and restaurants that blinked “OPEN” in red. He wasn’t good at guessing if people liked him or not. He needed that kind of thing. For once, he guessed he was going to have to be a little spontaneous with this whole asking a girl out thing, but how was he supposed to? Skylar wasn’t as seasoned at this kind of things as many of the people he knew. Perhaps he should consult a friend that was better at this first. But one day he would ask her on a real date, one in which he paid. He swore himself to that!
Wait! Was that a hint! Was Amelie actually giving Skylar a hint? And suddenly, upon hearing the word “friend” he was right back to square one. ”I probably wouldn’t have survived. I mean, I have no one else in this town to entertain me, aside from my siblings, and the two of them are such homebodies. Literally, their faces should be in the picture dictionary right next to that word,” he laughed, ”You definitely make it easier here, Amelie.” Skylar really thought he was going to hate Forks, but having her around made it seem so much different and somewhat easier. He liked it. He wasn’t sure what he really would do without it. He would probably be a bum, sitting on his mom’s couch playing video games all day and getting fatter the longer he sat there without moving his lazy ass. Good thing Amelie was around. He wasn’t sure being overweight really worked for him. His sisters would never let him live it down, especially Amanda. ”It’s good to know I can make your day better. I think you make mine better, too. I mean, today was just another boring day and then, there you were! Now, I feel better.” It was truthful. What did he really have to lie about? ”We should definitely plan a trip to LA. You may never get me back to Forks, though. There is civilization in LA.” He was only joking. It was just a large town, like the one he had come from.
Skylar sat back in his seat and took a moment to think about what he wanted to ask her. He only knew the basic details of her family and of her. ”Tell me about your childhood. What was it like? What did you do? How was it growing up in Los Angeles?” That seemed like the perfect place to start. It was simple and perfect. She could answer those questions with no problem, right.
