JUST A SMALL TOWN BOY AND GIRL LIVING IN THE CRAZY WORLD • • • • • Question: What was a girl to do when she didn't live with anyone, had no work today, and a crap load of money in her name? Answer: Shop. That was what 18 year old Amelie Camilla Milford was planning on doing as she stepped into her mother's old red Camaro and drove off towards the Port Angeles Mall. Her day off, and she was going to her job anyway. But if truth be told, despite the amount of clothes Amelie already had, she needed new ones. Some dressy stuff, some casual stuff, and then just some stuff she wanted because she wanted them. It was nice having so much money and not worrying about it running out anytime soon. She was careful with her money though. She didn't 'wastefully spend it' I guess you could say. I mean, Amelie wanted a new car, but did she get it? Nope. She just souped up the one her grandmother left her, which was a lot less expensive. So it wasn't the Ferrari she always dreamed off with the hot pink and black leather interior with her name scribbled in an elegant font across the front hood. But hell: this was good enough for her. It drove, it was pretty, the end.
As she got on the high way towards Port Angeles, she spotted the green highway sign that stated the direction to go if you wanted to drive to Seattle. After thinking for about a fraction of a second, Amelie smoothly led the car into that lane and followed it towards the busy city that Washington was famous for. Besides, she'd have a better chance of not running into girls she knew from Forks. They drove her insane sometimes. Constantly trying to make friendly with her so that she'd deem them her best friend and they can go and boast about how they were best friend's with Hollywood's most famous star teenager. It wasn't like she had really done anything. She hadn't starred in any big productions films..just a few diaper commercials when she was an infant. Like that was something to be proud of. But she was the daughter of Hollywood's most beloved couple...a couple that now had at least 4 restaurants named after them and their very own movie special marathons on television.
Seattle was less than two hours away if you drove at the right speed and Amelie made it there in no time. After following some random roads, getting lost about twice, and almost getting rear-ended, she pulled into the Seattle Mall parking lot in one piece. "People are stupid," she muttered as she saw this couple in a minivan pulling a spot that was obviously far too small to accommodate their large automobile. After trying to park for 5 minutes they finally left to search for another and Amelie easily drove the Camaro into the spot. She stepped out, smoothing her mini skirt and babydoll top and grabbing her black purse. Locking the door behind her, she began to walk towards the mall, her wedges not so much as making a sound against the blacktop of the parking lot.
The first store she was going to hit: the large shoe store that caught her ocean blue eyes the moment she stepped into the air conditioned shopping paradise. So far, no one was flocking to her, which was definitely a good sign. She immediately walked over to the shelves full of heels and stared, finally enjoying herself somewhat. • • • • •

Skylar had discovered that he spent just a little too much time at home. Ok, he already knew that, but being in a place he didn’t know made the whole thing worse. He didn’t know where to go or who to hang out with. He knew one person in all of Forks, one that he was close to. That was his best friend, but apparently he was too caught up in a relationship to spend too much time with Skylar. That Sky could understand. With Danielle, he had completely blown people off. But the idea of James actually being serious about someone blew him out of the water. This was the same person who told Sky that he needed to get out of his relationship as quick as possible because he didn’t need to be serious about anyone. However, as confused as he was, he was happy for his best friend. It was nice to see that someone could change him, if even just a little bit, and this girl, who he insisted he meet one day, had seemed to do a pretty good job. However, as his friend was with her, he needed something better to do. That’s why he found himself just driving around town. Or he had at least started just driving around Forks.
Somewhere in the midst of his driving, Skylar found himself heading farther north than he had intended. Now he was headed to Seattle. He only knew that because the GPS made sure he knew exactly where he was. It was the one useful thing he had been given lately. Most of the time he was handed things he didn’t need. Most teens were that way, though. They were just given things that weren’t all that important. He was obviously no exception. What any three of the kids wanted, they got, no questions asked. It didn’t teach them anything aside from the fact that they could turn to their parents, but that was starting to wear off. They got the essentials for living, that was pretty much it. His GPS got him everywhere now that he no longer lived in Las Vegas. It always knew its way home no matter how far he went, although this was the first time he made it out of Port Angeles. He was glad to finally venture into another town, actually. He wanted to find something worth spending time doing. Whatever it was, it was not in Forks or La Push or Port Angeles.
It didn’t take all that long before Skylar found a mall. Ok, he wasn’t really the biggest fan of malls. There were far too many shops and he didn’t know what to do when he got inside of one. Plus, he didn’t like the crowds. Ok, the massive crowd of girls had something to do with it as well. But it was the only thing interesting to do in the daylight. He pulled into the parking lot a mall and made it quick to get out of his car, lock it, and head into the mall. He was glad he was alone. One of his sisters would instantly grab his arm and drag him around, using him as something of a moveable coat stand to hang bags on. That was the exact reason he hated shopping with girls who were just there. It was either that or they complained about not having enough money to pay for things they didn’t need in the first place, but wanted so badly they would die if they didn’t have it.
Skylar walked around for only a few minutes before someone caught his eye, a girl at that. Weird. He hadn’t exactly looked at a girl since Danielle walked out of his life, but this one seemed to intrigue him. So, he followed her right into the shoe store. He didn’t make it look as if he was following her. In fact, he walked right for the men’s shoes, which he didn’t need. His eyes looked down at his brand new Vans. He shrugged and decided to approach the girl. It was worth it. The closer he got, the more he recognized her. It was Amelie. ”Is there anything I can help you with m’am?” He tried to sound as serious as possible and unlike himself as well. Behind his hand he giggled waiting for her to turn around.

JUST A SMALL TOWN BOY AND GIRL LIVING IN THE CRAZY WORLD • • • • • When Amelie went shopping, she became somewhat oblivious to everything else around her...to an extent anyway. She had to be carful that there was no paparazzi around, which was highly unlikely seeing as the last place the paparazzi would go looking for Hollywood's golden child would be in Forks, Washington. But like with other people, she didn't pay attention to them. A sale's associate came over and asked if she needed assistance, but the moment she saw who she was, she squealed and ran off. Rotten luck considering Amelie had just spotted a cute pair of wedges on the very top shelf. She pouted her lips and looked around for someone, anyone who could possibly help her.
A male began to walk towards her and she only caught a glimpse of his face before he walked to the opposite side of the store. She thought she had seen that guy before, but she wasn't entirely sure. She crossed her arms and took her blue eyes away from the wedges. There were plenty of other options. She took a step towards a different section of shoes. Just as she did so, she heard someone approach.
Is there anything I can help you with m’am?
Thinking it was another associate, Amelie swung around and pointed to the wedges. But then she saw it was Skylar.....Skylar Evans. Dammit. She dropped her arm back to her side, her gold bangles clinging as she did so. "Can you not live without stalking me?" she asked him, a sly smile on her face. It had been a while since she had seen him last. There was a brief period of time where they just happened to hang around the same people and every little party and get-together consisted of the two of them bickering and playing pranks on one another. Now, not so much. It could be weeks before they saw each other again, and this was a perfect example. Amelie walked along the wall of shoes, pretending to be more interested in the patent leather stilettos than in the fact that Skylar, probably the most attractive male in the town, was standing right behind her.
She stopped and turned to him, giving him her friendliest smile. "Actually, Sky," she said, walking back towards him and pointing her French manicured finger at the wedges. "You're really tall. Do you think you could get those down for me. Size 7 please." She smiled again and batted her eyelashes a bit. Hopefully it would work. He was a male after all. • • • • •

LET'S MAKE A SCENE LIKE MOVIES IN OUR DREAMS • • • • • Skylar only normally enjoyed messing with his sisters, particularly Amanda. She was so easy to irritate and for some reason he loved being the one to do it. However, he found equally as entertaining to annoy Amelie. Of course, he really didn’t care if Mandy got mad and huffed away. The two of them were always at odds with each other. He really would care if he upset Amelie that way. He only meant the things he said and did in harmless fun. She seemed to have gotten that thus far. She would make some wise comment back to him. He laughed. And they would go about their business as normal. Mandy would get worked up and start a fight with him. He wasn’t the only one that found it funny. Everyone in their family found ways to bug her. She was the resident drama queen.
However, Skylar would never do that to Amelie. For starters, he kind of liked her. Wait, had that thought actually just crossed his mind? Not since Danielle had he ever been physically or emotionally attracted to anyone. He found himself very physically attracted to her. Emotionally, that was a different story. He had yet to know much about her, but he really wanted to. If he had it his way he would take her to the beach and spend all day with her there just talking. That was an idea he would have to bring up to her at a later time. It didn’t seem like the right thing to follow her stalker statement. Could he help it if she was unbelievably gorgeous and caught his eye?
”If you were less pretty I wouldn’t have to stalk you.” It was unbelievably obvious that he was flirting with her. He didn’t even bother in trying to mask it. ”See? It’s all your fault I’m a stalker,” he smiled slyly. He wanted to say something else that probably would have been all sweet and sappy, but he bit his tongue on it. All joking aside, Skylar did find Amelie to be very gorgeous. Who wouldn’t look at her and just see that? Ok, there were probably a few, like his friend James who was completely wrapped up in his own girl. But he saw it instantly and felt as if the rest of the world should, too. Then again, he had a way of thinking that about a lot of things. He was almost sure of it when it came to the blonde girl standing in front of him. That made him sound like a love sick teenager. He wasn’t quite sure that was it at all. He just thought she deserved some sort of recognition.
Before Skylar said anything else a manicured finger was pointing up at a shoe box and Amelie’s beautiful eyes were batting those lashes of theirs. How was he supposed to say no to that? Normally, he would have groaned before turning to follow the orders he was given. This time he smiled and gladly reached for them. ”You’re lucky you’re my friend, Amelie,” he laughed slightly, ”Or else I’d make you do this yourself.” He was joked.
[so, i kind of stole your posty thing. i hope that's ok.]

JUST A SMALL TOWN BOY AND GIRL LIVING IN THE CRAZY WORLD • • • • • If you were less pretty I wouldn’t have to stalk you. See? It’s all your fault I’m a stalker
Amelie turned her eyes to Skylar, her face making that sort of "are you for real?" expression. She rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. She decided to pull a technicality statement on him. "Actually, blame it on my parents. Its all in the genes after all," she pointed out. Amelie acted like Skylar annoyed the hell out of her, but honestly, she enjoyed his ways. He was a good kid, never got into trouble much from what she had heard from people. He was a clown, liked to mess around and make people laugh. Amelie liked the good humor trait males had. And he also had a way with words. He showered her with compliments when he wasn't too busy picking on her. All in all, he was just the guy that Amelie could possibly see herself with.
Ever since she had hit puberty, guys had been tripping over their feet to try and be with her. It's really not an exaggeration or anything. Guys literally would bend over backwards to try and get her for their girlfriend. Lord only knows how many times she would open the door to her Hollywood mansion and find flowers on the doorstep. Amelie didn't like guys like that, though. Guys that would work so hard just so that she would pay attention to them. The blonde was more into the hard to get guys. The guys who acted like they didn't feel a certain way towards her but, deep down, she could tell. The kind of guys that would let her in on their feelings in the subtlest of ways and only the two of them know about it. That was the kind of girl she was.
Thats what Amelie found so attractive about Skylar. Not the fact that his hair had a way of falling perfectly over his eyes, or the way he joked around with her. It was how she could tell he liked her but he never voiced his feelings. It was all in the way he acted when he was around her. He would joke around and mess with her, yes. But she could see right through that. He didn't mess with her the way he messed with other girls. It was playful and his attitude would totally change the moment she put a pout on her pink lips. He liked her...and she liked him too. Now if only she could get to know the real him, maybe they could finally voice each others feelings to one another.
Skylar didn't even put up a fight as he reached for the wedges she asked for. You’re lucky you’re my friend, Amelie. Or else I’d make you do this yourself. Amelie grinned and reached for the box as he handed them to her. "I know. Thanks Sky," she said before walked over to the cash register. She turned around to face Sky as the employee rang her up and charged her order. "What are you doing after I leave the store?" she asked. "Are you gonna follow me some more or are you gonna ask me to hang out with you?" She smiled , turned back to get her bag, and walked towards Sky. "So? What will it be, Evans?" • • • • • STEALER!! lol. kidding. its totally cool. [/blockquote]

LET'S MAKE A SCENE LIKE MOVIES IN OUR DREAMS • • • • • Skylar was highly amused by the look on her face. It made it very hard, nearly impossible for him not to laugh when he saw it. What could he say? He liked bugging her because she always acted like she was annoyed with it. He knew she wasn’t or she wouldn’t stick around to let him do it some more. ”Your parents may have given you the genes that make your face look the way it does, but you’re the one who wears it with confidence.” In other words, her genes didn’t necessarily make her beautiful. It was how she took care of herself and how she carried herself that made her beautiful. But he was just anxious to see what she would say to that. They had this way of just throwing sarcastic comments back and forth at one another when they were talking. It kept him highly amused and very interested in her.
Yes, Skylar Evans found himself very interested in Ms. Amelie. There was just something about her that made her different and he couldn’t put his finger on it. It wasn’t like he was attracted to her looks. Yes, there was something very beautiful about her, without a doubt. She was, in his eyes, the most beautiful girl he had seen since moving to Forks, by far. But it wasn’t that. He didn’t know what it was about her that made him treat her differently. Ok, that made it sound like he was very disrespectful to girls. That was completely untrue. He was a very decent boy and found he was very good with girls and relationships. But Amelie, he went out of his way to make an impression on her. It wasn’t like he hid it either. Pft! He was pretty sure she knew she liked her, which was the reason she acted like he annoyed her so much. He would like to think part of it was because she liked him, too.
They hadn’t really ever talked about it, though. That almost made him sad, but they didn’t quite know each other. He made the note in his head to attempt to get to know a bit about Amelie today. Then maybe sometime soon the truth would come out because he was pretty convinced a part of her liked him, too. Boy would he be embarrassed if he was wrong about it. He couldn’t really read girls all too well which is why he first real relationship ended. The whole time he just wanted to scream at Danielle, ”Tell me what you want! I can’t always read your mind!” But hey, he would get over it sooner or later if she didn’t. He’d still mess with her, though. Hey, he was a boy. What can you say?
”You’re welcome.” Sky watched as she walked over to the register. As he was apparently Amelie’s “stalker” he decided he should follow her. ”Well, I was considering following you around the mall. I figured I could jump behind some of those plants they have or maybe pretend to be a mannequin,” he joked as the cashier rung her shoes up for her. He suddenly drew this picture in his head of him standing in a window display as she walked back. He held back laughter and went back to her. ”If you wanna hang out….” he smiled, ”Let’s walk around the mall, shall we? I mean, we really don’t know about each other and I’m afraid this friendship can’t go on unless I know a little bit about you.” What a smooth way of getting her to talk, right? He was so lame and goofy sometimes.
[I'm terrible! I KNOW!! lol.]

JUST A SMALL TOWN BOY AND GIRL LIVING IN THE CRAZY WORLD • • • • • The thing with Amelie was that she had never had a boyfriend before. She had various flings, a few small things, but nothing that could be considered a true honest to God relationship. Her issue was that Amelie could never tell why a guy wanted her: was it for her money? or who she was? or did he truly like her for her mind? That was the hard thing with trying to develop relationships nowadays. Everything was based on physical attraction. Hardly ever did you hear about relationships where the two people actually liked each other for their personality and not for their goods. Amelie would never understand that. How could you date someone because of how they looked? It was all going to fade eventually. It was the mind and soul that would forever remain unchanged. That was why people should like someone.
But Sky had something in the way he acted that told her he wasn't that kind of guy. Sure, he always picked on her and then complimented her looks a lot in joking ways, much like he was doing now. But just the mere fact that it was only joking and not serious showed her he was the type of guy who went for personality. Amelie needed to sit down and have a deep, intellectual conversation with a person before she could go out on a date. Hence why she hadn't dated yet. She couldn't find that with anyone. She wanted someone intelligent. Someone who was content with just sitting there and talking to her rather than being physical. Was Sky that guy? She wasn't sure yet. But maybe she would determine that today.
”Your parents may have given you the genes that make your face look the way it does, but you’re the one who wears it with confidence.
Amelie didn't expect that. It was obvious in the stunned silence that followed after he spoke. She swallowed hard and cleared her throat. "Well...thanks Sky," she replied, giving him a small smile after. Grrr...she hated when he did that. He was playful and then got all serious on her. It kind of made chills run up her spine that a boy she hardly knew could have that kind of effect on her. Amelie was so sure if that was a good thing or not. Was it?
The blonde laughed as Skylar voiced his plans to stalk her. "Hide behind plants? Pretend to be a mannequin? I think my parents made a movie like that," she laughed as she turned her eyes to him and looked him up and down. "But if you do go for a mannequin kind of thing, may I suggest A&F? Maybe Hollister? You'd fit right in." See, she had a similar way of flirting. Joking around with compliments. Two can play that game, Evans (: She swung her bag loosely from her hands as she stared up at Sky, listening to what he was saying in response to her questions/suggestions. "I would love to walk around with you. Because you know what? You're right. How can we stay friends if we don't know jack squat about each other?" she asked, walking out of the store. "What do you say to grabbing a bite to eat? I'm starved." Sure enough, her stomach grumbled loudly. "See?" she giggled. • • • • • (bad roo! lol) [/blockquote]

LET'S MAKE A SCENE LIKE MOVIES IN OUR DREAMS • • • • • Skylar was not like his best friend in the least. James never had a serious relationship, not before the one he was in now, which still puzzled Sky. It was hard for James to find someone to settle on and develop feelings for. He preferred to just have fun with a girl and leave her. Skylar looked more for the serious things. He wanted to find someone to love. He wanted someone who could have his heart and who he can put all of his trust into. That wasn’t an easy thing to find, and it often involved heartache. However, he would never take back the things that had happen. Ok, his best friend had given him some lame advice that led him to breaking up with the one girl that meant anything to him, but that was for all the right reasons, wasn’t it? It would have happened eventually and he knew it. He wasn’t all that dumb, no matter what people believed.
And then, Skylar wouldn’t be standing there in front of someone like Amelie. He wouldn’t have gotten to meet someone as intriguing as her. She was very different from the other girls back in Vegas. They loved to party. They were just as bad as the terrible twosome with sneaking into clubs and drinking. If they ended up in bed with James, most of them knew when they woke up he wouldn’t be there. They would also very quickly lift there skirts and offer themselves to anyone. They were sort of desperate, at least the ones Sky knew, and they offered themselves up quickly. Amelie was different. She came across differently. She wasn’t as easy. She carried herself so much differently. What may have come across as some sort of arrogance to some was her over whelming confidence in herself, something he liked about her. Not only that, she willing joked back and flirted with her.
Honestly, Skylar was shocked that he had her speechless. He halfway expected her to come up with something sassy to say, but he was pleasantly surprised that Amelie hadn’t. Then again, he enjoyed backing her into corners where she didn’t know what to say. He enjoyed it. That big smile shone on his face before he spoke again, ”You’re welcome Miss Milford.” All teasing aside, there was a ton of sincerity behind his words. This was just how they were when they saw each other and he had a lot to make up for because it had been a little while since they had spoken.
”Yeah, I think that’s where I got the idea,” Skylar laughed and shook his head. He had this thing of how he liked his hair to fall in such a way in front of his face. What was this? He raised an eyebrow. She was doing it back. Now, this was the fun part, when she joked back with him. Most girls just giggled and said, ”You’re cute.” What the hell?!? He wanted someone that would throw it all right back on him without a moments’ hesitation. ”Do you really think I’d fit in?” he asked all excited like. It was mock excitement, though. They may had been very fashionable stores, but Sky had been dragged into one too many by his sister’s whenever they had enough money. He giggled at Amelie’s growling stomach. ”I think we need to feed the monster before it escapes,” he joked playfully. ”Food court? Or maybe one of the…what, three restaurants this place has?” He smiled. ”It’s all up to you and my treat. It’s the least I can do for stalking you and getting caught.”

JUST A SMALL TOWN BOY AND GIRL LIVING IN THE CRAZY WORLD • • • • • Amelie had such a small idea of the type of person Sky was. Obviously he liked parties, for a majority of the time she saw him, it was at parties. He loved to joke around and had a very big sense of humor. Sometimes, his jokes were lost on some people, but Amelie, who had a very similar sense of humor, always got everything he was saying. He was also very sensitive. That was something that you had to be extremely good at reading people to se. He put of this hard exterior, but Amelie knew the truth. She knew that there was a hell of a lot more to him than what people actually thought or knew. Luckily for her, she had been able to see right through everything and know the true him…even if he didn’t openly express himself in that way to her.
It was true that some people just assumed Amelie was a cold hearted bitch. They thought of her as arrogant, conceited, rude, and obnoxious. But that honestly wasn’t the case. She COULD be a bitch if she wanted to, but that wasn’t what she thought was radiated all the time. She had too much confidence in herself. She didn’t care what others thought of her all that often. Maybe that was what caused people to assume the worst of her. But that wasn’t the type of person she really was. If only people would take the time to get to know her better and see the type of person she really was, then maybe she would have a hell of a lot more friends. However, it seemed that people around here didn’t want to take the time to get to know her better.
”Of course you’d fit right in…you’re all handsome and the like,” she told him, giggling at his fake excitement. He was so full of sarcasm and she really did like that about him. His sarcasm wasn’t like rude sarcasm…like smart ass sarcasm. He had a funny way of being sarcastic and no one’s feelings were ever hurt, which is always a good thing (:
I think we need to feed the monster before it escapes. Food court? Or maybe one of the…what, three restaurants this place has? It’s all up to you and my treat. It’s the least I can do for stalking you and getting caught
Amelie laughed and smiled at Sky. ”That’s right, you better feed me after stalking me you pain in the butt,” she told him, poking is arm once before the two of them walked out of store. ”I vote….Ruby Tuesdays. I think its near the Sears or something. They have the best Strawberry Lemonade.” • • • • • (blahhh…this is so sucky) [/blockquote]

let’s make a scenelike the movies in our dreams• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Skylar could see what other couldn’t see in Amelie, or what others simply refused to see in her. She had a very hard exterior, if you asked most people. She came across as many negative things that anyone and everyone would be ashamed to be called, but to Sky that wasn’t the case at all. Sure, when he had first met Amelie she seemed to be a big bitch, but he had learned, though the years, that one couldn’t always judge a book by its cover. Looks were always deceiving. What Amelie had seen of Sky, parties, having fun, cutting up, that wasn’t exactly who he was. He liked to do those things. Having fun was his main goal in life while he was still an unattached teenager. But he was so much more. He was considerate, kind, and always wanted to make people smile. He screwed up, yeah. He was only a teenage boy who grew up in Sin City with a best friend who loved a bottle of Captain Morgan more than anything in this world. By his standards that wasn’t so bad considering where he was. Yeah, he did stupid things like get so drunk his mom had to drag him in by his hair and decide to move here, but he hadn’t done things like that since. That made a difference, right? That one incident did not define him.
Now, Amelie, there was more to her, too. She could definitely come across as a bitch. If Skylar wasn’t afraid of getting smacked across the face, he would tell her that, but he didn’t want to be offensive or hurt her in anyway because he saw the true side of her. She was an incredible person that had personality. She understood Sky’s stupid jokes. She laughed at them. Amelie was an amazing person. People just didn’t want to see that. They didn’t want to look past the attitude she radiated. It was her confidence. Sky wasn’t exactly innocent. He labeled her as a bitch when they met, but he saw way past that to the person that was truly hidden underneath the exterior she wore. Was it wrong that he was kind of proud of himself for seeing that in her? He felt like he knew some sort of secret that people would never know. He felt special.
Skylar laughed, ”Well, I’m glad you think so, but do you think they will? I’d be more than glad to work for them if they would. Mom says I need a job.” Actually, she never s aid that, but it helped Sky’s joke about wanting to be a mannequin in some store front. What fun would it be otherwise? Plus, she understood his sarcasm. It was demanded that he joke with her.
”Hey!” Skylar exclaimed and rubbed his arm where Amelie had poked him as if it had hurt. He furrowed his bushy eyebrows and pouted in her direction for a moment before smiling and continuing on with their walk to a restaurant. ”Ruby Tuesday’s it is!” he smiled down to her, ”I can’t say I’ve ever had that when I’ve been here,” he said as they walked up to the restaurant, ”Make me try it today.” His attention then turned to the hostess. ”Two please.”

- - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING Well, I’m glad you think so, but do you think they will? I’d be more than glad to work for them if they would. Mom says I need a job
Amelie let out a laugh, tossing her hair off her shoulder as the two began to walk towards Ruby Tuesday’s. I bet you didn’t think a girl like her would be interested in a restaurant like that. Right? Ms. Amelie Milford did enjoy the occasional dining experience that a restaurant food chain could offer. Not formal, no stars trying to outshine the other. It certainly was a nice change from the restaurants in LA. The other reason Amelie did offer to take Skylar somewhere better was that she did not want to show off. Sometimes, she would like waving around a stack of hundreds to show people that she could pretty much afford anything she wanted. [not literally of course] But with Sky she wanted to feel…normal. The last thing she wanted was to rub how rich she was in Sky’s face. She wanted him to like her for her, not the money she had and how, if he couldn’t pay the dinner bill, she would cover him. Well, she would do that, but still. That’s not what she wanted Sky to think.
”I would definitely try to get a job there. I hear their “models” get paid the big bucks. I knew a guy that got hired there and he had to wear their clothes like everywhere. He was pretty much a walking advertisement. But hell, you get a lot of money for such a simple job. I would take it,” Amelie admitted. The two finally reached their destination and Amelie smiled when Sky told her to make hhim try the Strawberry Lemonade. ”Oh don’t worry, I will,” she told him, with a large smile. The host began to lead them to their seats, but it was a little too crowded in that area. Amelie hated that. Before Sky could sit down in his seat, Amelie walked up to the waiter, a $50 in her hands. ”Usually I don’t like bribing people into getting me a different seat, but can we have something slightly more private? Somewhere not as crowded?” she asked him, flashing him her best smile.
Before she knew, he ushered them to another table in a window room. It’s kind of hard to explain. Pretty much its like a balcony but completely indoors with a lot of windows. Either way, it was pretty damn nice. Satisfied, she finally took a seat and opened up her menu as the host walked away and they waited for their waiter to arrive. ”I’m sorry about that,” she told Sky, her cheeks turning pink. ”I figured since you were going planning to get to know me better and I you, it seemed appropriate that we be alone. No one else needs to hear our life stories, right?” She didn’t want Sky to think she was like that all the time. That certainly was not the case.

let’s make a scenelike the movies in our dreams• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Skylar had decided quite a long time ago that people just got the wrong impression of Amelie. The first time he had ever expressed interest in befriending her, the group of people he had somehow managed to find himself a part of informed him that she was nothing more than a selfish, spoiled little brat. She got everything she wanted without having to work for it. Sky wasn’t exactly one to listen to what everyone else had to say about that. At first she had come across as that person that would flaunt what she had, money wise. He knew he could never fit into that. The fancy dinner parties and exclusive invite only events were things Sky could never fit into, no matter how badly he wished he could. But Amelie had showed him, since that very first meeting, that there was more to her than all of that. She was a person, just like he was, with all the feelings and emotions that were associated with hate and sadness and loneliness and happiness. She had all those things, just like him. The only thing was, not everyone, like Sky, would stick around to find that out about her. He was just one of those few special people that took the time to see past someone’s exterior.
”I will definitely take that job,” Skylar nodded, ”I doubt I am anything like a walking model like the guy you know, but, hey, I can stand still for hours in a window and look good.” Those were his last words before he fell silent, as Amelie bribed the host for a private setting. Was it odd that the fact that she pulled out her own money to do that didn’t bother him at all? That would bother any other guy with a male ego, like James. He would totally flip if this had happened in his presence. Secretly, Sky wondered how much that irked the girl James was with. If she had any amount of independence whatsoever, she probably rolled her eyes every time he refused to let her buy or pay for anything. But Sky was not that person at all. He was kind of more laid back and ok with just letting things happen. Girls were perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, but that didn’t mean he would not be a gentleman and pick up the tab when they went out. He fully intended on paying for lunch with Amelie.
Skylar smiled as her cheeks colored themselves pink a bit. ”Awe. Are you blushing, Amelie,” he teased her a bit. What kind of guy would he be if he didn’t point out the fact that she was turning red? ”It’s perfectly fine, though. We do need our privacy,” he nodded, ”The whole restaurant doesn’t need to know our lives. Plus, this is a pretty good table if I do say so myself.” In that second a very frantic looking waiter rushed over to their table. She looked as if she were somewhat busy or like she was running late and they threw her out on the floor immediately. ”Can I start you off with anything to drink?” she asked them. ”Strawberry lemonade, please,” he smiled at Amelie and waited for her to give her order. Then the waitress scurried away. ”So, Amelie, what do you want to know about me?”

- - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING Awe. Are you blushing, Amelie
She frowned a bit. ”I was only blushing because I don’t usually do stuff like that. But I’m glad you understand,” she told him, twirling her two index fingers around one another. She noticed on of her acrylic nails had a scratch and she frowned again. Now she would have to go to the nail salon and get it fixed. She looked up at Sky and then mentally slapped herself. Here was her crush, a guy she had liked for a pretty long time, finally allowing her to get to know him better and she was too focused on her fingernails. Sky was a guy (rhyme! xD) . She doubted that he noticed her scratched fingernail. She was blowing it already. She heard Sky agree with her about the privacy thing and she smiled. Apparently, he was taking this lunch thing seriously as well. That made her feel slightly better.
Have you ever done something that you thought was a huge deal, but then the person you were doing it with was just kinda like, ‘ehh. This is alright’ ? Well, Amelie didn’t want to feel that with her lunch with Skylar. She wanted them both to think of this as a great opportunity. Not many guys took the time to really get to know her for her and not for her money or who her parents were. Sky was really the only guy to do that. And his friend James, but James wasn’t someone she really spoke to. After all, he had a wedding to plan with his fiancée. Then Amelie thought of something outrageous: was Sky only hanging out with her right now because he felt alone because of James and his wedding? She didn’t know whether to be happy or upset about that. She didn’t want to feel like a last resort for him, you know? She didn’t know. She was probably over thinking things like she always did.
This frantic looking blonde waitress came running over to their table and she tired so hard not to giggle. She was out of breath, her apron was disheveled and she dropped her pen like 4 times before finally getting a grip on it long enough to take their drink orders. Skylar ordered the Strawberry Lemonade, which Amelie suggested, and smiled at him. At least he was willing to try something new. ”Make that two,” she told her before the blonde ran away from their table. WEIRDOOOOO. Anyway, Amelie’s blue eyes wandered to the menu from time to time, although she already knew what meal she was going to get. She just needed something to look at so she wasn’t staring at Sky forever and creeping him out. She just did weird things like that when she liked someone. Hence, why nothing ever worked out for her. She was a failure when it came to trying to win over guys. She didn’t want to blow this opportunity being given to her.
So Amelie, what do you want to know about me?
That was a tough question to answer. She wanted to know everything. His childhood, his emotions, his views on the world around him. That sounds like way weird, but it was the truth. She would begin with something safe, though. ”How about the beginning? What was your childhood like?”. There. That sounded normal and not creepy. Right?

let’s make a scenelike the movies in our dreams• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Skylar already thought Amelie was very attractive. There was something about her that stood out to him. Maybe it was because she wasn’t all that popular with other people and came across as a bitch at times. Sky liked that challenge. But he found even more adorable when she blushed the way she was. For some reason it made him smile. There was always something about making a girl blush, laugh or smile that made him feel so accomplished. It was something his best friend never really understood. Why was just hearing her voice over the phone so remarkable? But Sky was pretty sure James understood that feeling now, especially since the reason they hardly saw each other was because of the girl he was dating. ”Well, being out of your element is enough to make anyone blush, but I just happen to think it’s adorable. So, that excuses you.” Was he trying to embarrass her? Was it working if that was his goal? What the hell was he thinking? He should be nice, right? Teasing never hurt anyone, though.
It was funny that Skylar ended up here. His initial intention was to just spend time at the mall because he didn’t want to listen to his sisters bicker and his best friend was wrapped up in his fiancée. That wasn’t to say Sky would take Amelie as second to James. Sure the two boys were the best of friends and grew up together. No one knew Skylar better than James Riddle. But that did not mean Sky was only hanging out with Amelie because he couldn’t hang out with his best friend. He hadn’t intended on seeing the guy, and meeting up with her here was nothing more than a very lucky coincidence. But had he been forced to choose between the two, well, he would probably chicken out and take both of them with him. He didn’t like to choose between his friends, though he did kind of have a crush on Amelie. Yes, he had from the day he met her had some sort of crush on her, but he was very mature about it and flirted with her in the most discreet of ways while still managing to show a slight bit of his feelings. He was pretty good at that. It was how he got Danielle.
As the waitress took drink orders, Skylar hardly noticed her. He was good about not paying attention to waitresses and rather the person that he was with, date or not, but he had noticed just how frantic she was. Sky had never seen someone so disorganized or confused in his entire life, even his sisters before they went on a date. He nodded as she walked away, though, and smiled to Amelie before looking down at his menu. He knew better than to stare. Every ounce of testosterone in Sky’s body wanted him to look at the girl that was accompanying him across the table. And he did glance up every once in a while to look at the cute little red head as best he could considering she was hidden behind his own menu, but he also did well to not let his eyes wonder to places they shouldn’t have and focused on what was in his face. Honestly, he didn’t want Amelie thinking he was staring at her. That would be a bad thing and Sky would look like some creepy guy. That wasn’t going to happen. He may have been a goofball and done stupid things, but he was a gentleman. His mom did raise him to do that.
”Hm?” Skylar mused and he shut the menu and set it down in front of him, still unaware of what he wanted to order. ”I’m the youngest with two older sisters. So, that part of my childhood was bad,” he laughed, ”Can you imagine how much I was teased?” There were two people in this world he did not want Amelie meeting it was his sisters. ”It was sort of odd. Both of my parents were divorcees and had children when they met. Mandy and Jess are step sisters, but they are my half sisters.” He hated explaining his siblings and their situation. ”Growing up in Vegas was interesting. James and I spent most of our time getting in trouble and playing mean jokes on Jess to make her mad, but it was pretty good. It was definitely an adventure growing up five minutes from the strip.” He took in a quick breath. ”How about you?”

- - - - - i remember what you wore on the first day ,you came into my life and i thought ,HEY YOU KNOW THIS COULD BE SOMETHING Well, being out of your element is enough to make anyone blush, but I just happen to think it’s adorable. So, that excuses you.
He seriously was not helping anything. Amelie could feel her cheeks burning and she quickly threw her hands to her face to conceal the color. She knew Sky would notice anyway. That was something she disliked about guys. Some guys would sit there and say that girls were far too observant for their own good. But guys were just as observant. Why else do you think girls feel the need to conceal every single zit on their faces and wear makeup and look good all the time? It’s because they know if they don’t, or lets just say one morning they don’t feel like going through the trouble and slip up, the guy would notice. It happened like that in Hollywood all the time. Celebrities would go out without makeup on, and the next day some tabloid would have their plain face slapped onto the cover about how terrible they look without it. Amelie constantly felt like she had to be perfect all the time. It was certainly a fault. She had to wake up extra early in the morning just to get her eyeliner just right, and her curls perfectly bouncy. Perfection was something she always strived for. And sitting here in front of Sky, blushing like a freaking 12 year old, was not making her perfect.
Once he had picked up his menu and was beginning to look through it, Amelie allowed her hands to reach for her own and she stared at the bold letters. Everytime she came here, she got the same thing—A bacon cheeseburger. Maybe it was time to try something new. As her blue eyes looked at the menu, she had that feeling of someone staring at her. She let her menu fall slightly so she could see Sky and she smiled when she noticed his eyes flickering suddenly to his menu once more. She bit her lower lip to contain her laughter and continued to read her menu. Sky was so cute. He was probably the nicest guy Amelie had associated herself with in a very long time. He was the perfect package. Funny, Smart, Handsome, Tall. But most importantly, he wasn’t afraid to be himself with her. From day one, he had been this goofball of a guy who was always picking on her, but that’s what she liked about him. Guys would spend way too much time trying to impress her with gifts or flowers or a million and one compliment. Skylar was always himself. And he would drop a compliment about her everyo once in a while. That certainly was a bonus.
Hm? I’m the youngest with two older sisters. So, that part of my childhood was bad. Can you imagine how much I was teased? It was sort of odd. Both of my parents were divorcees and had children when they met. Mandy and Jess are step sisters, but they are my half sisters. Growing up in Vegas was interesting. James and I spent most of our time getting in trouble and playing mean jokes on Jess to make her mad, but it was pretty good. It was definitely an adventure growing up five minutes from the strip. How about you?”
Well, they certainly had one thing in common—they both were raised in pretty large cities in entirely different states. Sky had been living here longer that Amelie had, she was pretty sure. The party they had met at was her very first party on her second night here. So she was pretty sure he had been a resident of this small town a lot longer than her. She tried to think of what she wanted to say. She put her own menu down and gathered her long red hair to her right shoulder. ”Well, I’m a Hollywood child. My parents were the first Angie and Brad. They invented that story—guy married to another actress. Guy meets new actress on movie set. Guy divorces wife to date other actress. Guy and New Actress have baby, making them official. I’m an only child. Always have been and always will. My parents died in a plane crash on their way to a movie location in Africa. I moved in with my grandmother, but she also died. I just recently got access to my inheritance. I’m filthy, stinking rich to put it bluntly. Yet here I am. Rich girl living in a small town, because she has no other place to go to, “ she told him. Amelie was not sure how many times she had mentioned the fact that she was rich, but she was pretty sure she had said it enough. After all, that was what she always told people the first time they met her. It was pure habit.
