appearance: Asher has dark brown, nearly black hair that falls to his shoulders in curls. His hair is soft and is set off perfectly with the amber color of his eyes. His skin is a slightly darker toned color that comes from his mixed race background. Asher usually has a thin mustache and a slight goatee that looks good on him. The ladies usually like it. He tends to wear jeans and t-shirts. Shorts are rare and suits do look good on him. He can pull it off and still look jammin'. He doesn't usually wear name brand items or clothing, but occasionally he might. Such as an Armani suit or something like that.
Asher is 5'7'' and he weighs about 145 pounds. He's well toned and looks good shirtless. His upper body are mostly hairless except for that trail that leads down every guys' pants... Anyways, he does have hair on his legs but it isn't too thick so that's also a plus with the ladies. Asher has a single large tattoo. A tribal tattoo down his arm and side and across his shoulder and back. He has straight white teeth and long fingers and toes. He has an ear peircing in his left ear which is gauged. (Size 18, he doesn't want it too big like the humans do. That's just nasty.)
the history
history: Asher was born on September 21 in 1903 in England. He doesn't quite remember where in England because Asher and his parents soon moved to Paris when he was three. Developing his parents' English accent as well as learning French and English as a young boy, Asher had a good life. Both his parents were loving and took care of Asher. They pampered him since he was their first and last child. He advanced quickly in the schools in Paris and was at the top of his class, quickly gaining popularity among his fellow classmates. When he was 13 he joined his father in working at the local shoe factory that he owned. It was lowly work but made Asher a weekly salary. Which he thought was the coolest thing ever.
When he was 15 Asher was sent away to a boarding school for the highly gifted. He was already almost finished with schooling and was ready to go to a college or university. But while Asher was away his parents got malaria and died. Asher was heart broken. But they had left him a note that came with his stuff to the boarding school. It told him how much they loved him and how proud of them they were and that they wanted him to continue with his education. So he did. He aced all his classes and soon he was on to medical school. He knew it would make him good money and it also gave him a chance to help people. To save them from diseases and infections. Like malaria. By this time Asher was 17 and in a medical school in America. He was loving life. Not only was he acing his classes but the school officials said he would have an early chance to become and intern and jump right into being a doctor. A young attractive one.
Asher was eager to live up to everyone's expectations. But it began to be too much. He couldn't handle the pressure anymore, one day he simply walked out of the hospital. It was then that he realized he really wasn't a people person. Throughout his whole schooling it had all been simply smarts, he realized he couldn't even recall half of his teacher's or other classmates names. He had never spoken to any of them. Simply listened. Watched them as they worked. Learned their behavior. Quitting his job at the hospital he moved to Michigan and took up writing. He published a few books under a pen name and earned himself a great deal of money. That's when he met her. Iris Van Reddick. She was gorgeous, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She had long flowing black hair and startlingly red eyes. But Asher didn't question her. After only a few dates he was madly in love with her.
Soon they were married. And living together in an old Victorian house in the forest of Michigan. It was then that Iris told him what she was and why she had red eyes. At first Asher didn't believe her, but he could see the truth in her eyes. And his love for her overcame his doubtfulness so he accepted it, and actually began to question it. She told him her whole life and what being a vampire really meant. She also told him that because she was out here in the middle of nowhere with him he was in danger. If she didn't get her meals when she needed him and he was around she could easily hurt him or even kill him. He understood this then came up with an idea. He suggested that she changed him. She was hesitant about the idea but he insisted. After a few days of convincing she finally did it, but nearly drained him in the process. It was so hard for her to resist his blood but she did it. She pulled away just in time. A few days later on August 23, 1987, Asher Mikael Ruskyn was now a vampire.
Iris on the other hand left him. She couldn't handle the fact that she had almost lost him so she simply left. Asher was heartbroken. He didn't understand. Didn't want to understand... He tried to commit suicide, he had lost everyone and everything important to him in his life in only a few years. But he failed, it's hard to kill yourself when you're a vampire. So he decided to travel. Distract himself. He learned more than he ever thought he could. Until he became antsy, wanting and needing to live in one place. So he chose Forks, Washington. It got little sunlight and lots of rain. Perfect for Asher. Once in town he bought a small house for himself outside of town.

the personality
personality: Asher is a quiet person. He's the one you don't notice in a room of people. He is very observant of his surroundings and of those around him. When Asher does speak it's to defend himself or give someone advice. He's usually very quick and catchy on rude comments or when someone's being a jerk or arrogant. Asher dislikes arrogance and usually he doesn't like to be around other vampires, especially red eyed females because it remind him of Iris. He's a very secretive person, so if you do become his friend you can trust him with anything. He won't spill your secret unless you betray him.
Asher tends to have anger and abandonment issues. Once he gets close to you and actually starts to care about you, he'll do anything to please you and keep you around as long as he can, so he can become a bit clingy but he really tries hard not to. He's been on a few dates since his break up with Iris but he hasn't really put any effort into it. He still loves her and misses her. He's even tried finding her but failed. Asher is the type that likes seclusion and being alone. He just doesn't connect with people anymore. It takes a lot to get inside his head. His IQ is so high that he has make sure he sounds 'dumb' in his head (which is about normal for us) when he speaks. He hates it but deals.
