This is not the result of anything truly significant...

...or is it?

For centuries, man kind reigned supreme, no matter what creature popped up to take over the throne. Technology increased, as did the overall population on our dear planet, Earth. Computers seemed to have infinite amounts of memory, cell phones became capable of may things, and poor countries became rich. Great imaginations and intelligence came together and built a strong community in the world of today. But all great things must come to a great and tragic end.

The tables turned for all of the intelligent species that roamed the earth. Mother nature decided it was time to take charge again. No one is really sure what happened to the 'top of the food chain'. The modern world had practically crumbled below everyone's feet. Tall towers that had been idolized now sat flatter than most prairies. The pyramids were dusted over with time and sand. Giant cities ceased to exist, and populations of survivors moved back into the state of ignorance.

Humanity aged backwards. Lions now prey on the civilians of Africa, while the grizzlies sometimes pounce a tasty morsel or two in what was North America. Few immortals made it through this warp, and all they can do is watch as everyone else slowly becomes 'blissfully ignorant' and falls under what it once ruled. In the evenings, elders tell stories passed to them of great, ancient cities with magic that glowed all night. Then, the villages cook their food over an outside fire before turning in to sleep under fur blankets.
