Tigan was sitting on a bench outside the school reading a book about werewolfs and vampires again. She loved sitting around public places reading her books, so she could eves drop on other peoples conversations, nobody ever notices her anyways. Today was an extra gloomy day, so she was hoping that she might catch a glimes of one of the culen people. She waited and waited all day long, but this didn't bother her.

They always told Elizabeth that curiosity killed the cat.
This wasn't the first time she'd seen Tigan sitting around outside the school. Elizabeth knew about the Cullens; their beauty, their self-isolation in school society; and that they went hiking each day there was sun. And because of her knowledge, she couldn't blame Tigan for her desparate attempts to catch a glimpse of that peculiar family. She would have done the exact same thing, but she was afraid of being suspected of eavesdropping.
Elizabeth had forgotten her jacket that day, much to her dismay. Not only had it poured in the morning, but now the mugginess went away to be replaced with crisp air. She didn't mind this normally; it was only when she was freezing her butt off (like now) that it bothered her.
She'd never talked to Tigan before. They both had the same interest in the Cullens; what hurt would a little conversation do? With that thought in mind, Elizabeth walked up to the bench and asked the girl, "Mind if I sit?"

Tigan knew that her attempts to see the cullens family was a bust for today, so she get more interested in her book. After a while of reading she got tired so she put it down for now. Then she saw a girl looking her direction, she immediatly picked the book back up, out of repetion, and pretended to be reading it again.
Suddenly Tigan heared the girls voice, she put the book down enough to see the girl and said, "Um....sure." Tigan then put the book back up to her noise and pretended to be reading again as she listen to see if the girl would do anything. The girl then sat down next to tigan and this instantly made tigan feel odd.

Elizabeth, being unreasonably shy again, sat down and said "Thanks" under her breath. Tigan was acting as though she was reading her book, but even through her hair, Elizabeth could see her looking out the corner of her eye at her. This was awkward, and not what she had anticipated. Elizabeth drew in a breath, thinking of a way to spark conversation. She came up with using the one thing they shared interest in: the Cullens.
"So, um... you haven't seen them anywhere?"
No dip, Sherlock, Elizabeth told herself. Had Tigan seen them, the odds were great that she wouldn't still be sitting there. Realizing this, having spoken before thinking again, Elizabeth tried again. Or rather, tried to try again. She opened her mouth to speak, but, with nothing coming to her, she gave up on a fresh question.
"Nice weather, isn't it?"
Nice weather? It's freaking cold out and grey. Yeah, it's just beautiful weather. Elizabeth wondered why she was so terrible at starting innocent conversation. And yet, for some reason, she half-expected Tigan to respond to her miserable attempt.

Tigan sat there hearing all that this girl was saying, she didn't quiet know what to say, but when she heard the girl ask if she had seen THEM, she didn't know what to say at all. Had people actually noticed her, was she being seen when she was trying so hard not to be. All that Tigan could come up with to say was, "Um....no I haven't." Then look back at her book and back out of the corner of her eye.
Then as the girl asked if it was nice weather, Tigan realized what she was trying to do. "Are you trying to tease me, or are you just sitting with me for fun?" Tigan asked this because noone ever sat with her unless they were making fun of her or if they were just bored and trying to have some fun.

Elizabeth noticed Tigan's expression at her first question; her face became nervous. She didn't quite know why. This was odd to Elizabeth. She was normally very good at reading changes in expression and the reasons behind them. But she couldn't decipher the latter in this case.
Elizabeth tucked her long curly hair behind her ear when Tigan replied again, "Are you trying to tease me, or are you just sitting with me for fun?" For fun? Why would Elizabeth ever sit with anyone just 'for fun'? That wasn't her. All she wanted was to perhaps make a new friend, seeing as all of her own had moved away at the start of the year. Elizabeth stammered in her response. "No, I-- I just thought-- you know, that I could get to know you better and talk to you..." Elizabeth looked away, upset that people were always so judgmental to her. She considered giving up, saying "Never mind," and getting up to leave, and yet she wanted to be there for Tigan. A lot of people were absolutely terrible to her. They never treated her with an ounce of respect or kindness. So she couldn't blame Tigan for her question.
"Sorry. I'm Elizabeth." She smiled brightly.

Tigan was not use to the kind of response that this Elizabeth gave her, for a second Tigan thought about getting up and walking away, but the conversation was intreging her. "Um...Hi, I'm Tigan. Nice to meet you, I think." Tigan said to in responds. From this point on, Tigan didn't know what to say, this, so far, was the longest conversation she had ever had with anyone before.
Tigan then closed her book and put it on her lap, ready for a more stimulating conversation, now that she knew that Elizabeth was not just playing around with her. Tigan turned her head towards Elizabeth and looked at her ready to talk. This felt odd to Tigan, see never talked to someone one on one before. This was going to be interesting.

Elizabeth was delighted when Tigan closed her book and set it on her lap. This meant someone was actually giving her a chance at conversation and not turning her down; this was new. Then Tigan turned to look at her. 'Thank you,' Elizabeth thought. She really wanted to be her friend, and it was great that Tigan at least showed a tiny sign of the same feeling. Elizabeth bit her lip, wondering what to say. She considered resorting to the Cullens again. No, they could get to that later. But that mysterious family was prominent in her mind. She mentally shoved them away.
Trying her hardest not to sound stupid or cheesy, Elizabeth asked, genuinely interested, "I, uh... I see you're reading a book on werewolves and vampires..? How is it?"
That sounded basic enough. And it practically required a lengthy response, which was beneficial for the whole conversation/potential friendship thing.

Tigan looked down at the book in her lap, then looks back up at her. Tigan thought about this for a second before coming to the conclusion that it was probably best not to tell her about her obsetion with her fathers death yet. So she said, "I like books and movies and stuff about werewolfs and vampires." This was the only thing Tigan could think to say. She then waited for another question. Tigan would talk or ask questions, but she never has really talked to anyone before so she wasn't good enough.

'Okay.' So that wasn't quite the long answer Elizabeth was anticipating. But she was glad to hear that Tigan wasn't reading it for the heck of it; she actually had an interest. Elizabeth was glad she wasn't the only one; but did they actually exist? She would have loved to think so, for the good ones at least, but she thought herself foolish and a freak to actually believe in them. That was why she never spoke about them much. But Tigan was different. Elizabeth felt as though she could trust her, and that perhaps she wasn't alone in her personal beliefs system. The wind picked up, and Elizabeth tucked her hair behind her ear again.
She was silent for a moment, then cautiously said, "Call me crazy... but do you actually think vampires and werewolves exist? I don't mean to sound rude... I'm just wondering. I'd really like to know." Elizabeth smiled again to tone down the awkwardness.
'I shouldn't have asked such a question. She'll think I'm absolutely nuts,' she scolded herself.

Tigan knew they excited, she didn't have any proof but just knew some how. But this time Tigan couldn't help herself from talking about the one thing she loved to talk about the most. If Elizabeth could stand listening to Tigan talk about this than maybe she really could be friends.
"I know they exsit, I don't have any proof but I know they do, or at least hope they do. My father will get his revenage. I want the bad ones and good ones to exsit, so I can kill them myself. Maybe even try and be one." At this Tigan looked off into the distance and started talking out loud to herself. "I know they exsit and I will never stop till I prove it. And when I do finally meet one I'll be ready, I'll kill them and make them pay for what they did to my father. Over and over and over again. Till there all dead." Tigan kept mumbeling this over and over again. She was so obsesed with this that she totally forgot that Elizabeth was there.

Elizabeth was taken by surprise. Not because Tigan just said (what most would think would be) the craziest things, but because she herself felt almost the same way. She dreamed constantly about being one of them; she didn't quite know why, and she didn't know how, when, or by whom it would happen, but it was always one of those crazy dreams of hers. She and Tigan had much more in common than Elizabeth could have fathomed. Elizabeth took this opportunity to say, "I really am sorry about your father... please don't talk about it, I don't want you to think about such devastating things like that..." She furrowed her eyebrows in sympathy and wanted to hug her.
But there was something in Tigan's statements that stuck in Elizabeth's mind.
"I'll kill them and make them pay for what they did. Over and over and over again. Till they're all dead."
Killing the bad ones, Elizabeth could understand. But the good ones too? She saw reason behind Tigan's murderous desires, because they had taken someone she loved dearly away from her. "But Tigan..." she began, "That's like having a serial killer murder somebody, and then you run off and kill every human in sight: both the good and the bad." Even though Elizabeth suddenly hated vampires (the evil ones, anyway) for emotionally scarring this poor girl for life, she couldn't help being defensive for the good ones. She didn't know why. She really hoped Tigan didn't hate her for being protective over the good vampires.

Tigan finally came back to reality when she heard Elizabeths voice. She looked over at Elizabeth in an odd way. Tigan then repeated to herself. "Good ones,...Good ones...Good ones." She couldn't understand how anyone could think of them in such a way. All Tigan ever wanted to do was to kill as many of them as posible before they took her out. Even killing one would get revenge for her father. She then snapped back looking at Elizabeth, "I'm sorry, what was that you said, Good ones. How can you think that any of them are good, they kill people if not people than animals. Would you be able to live the rest of your life knowing that the only way for you to keep living is by killing something else." Tigan then paused waiting for her responds.

Elizabeth wasn't upset that Tigan had challenged her question, nor was she angry. She didn't think much before she spoke, and this is what came out:
"Not all of them willingly became what they did; I'm sure they hate themselves for what they are. And no, I certainly wouldn't enjoy having to survive on killing another living thing. But if that's what I am, that's what I am. I mean, look at us now: unless you're a vegetarian, you're already eating another dead thing every single day..."
She tried not to sound snippy, but it came out that way. She mentally kicked herself for that.
"But that doesn't undo what they did, Tigan, I understand that," she added, her tone soft. "And I surely understand you wanting to seek vengeance." Elizabeth suddenly shuddered at the thought of Tigan embarking on revenge alone. Her heart more than poured out for her. "But I'll tell you this: If you go out vampire-hunting, you aren't going alone." Elizabeth patted Tigan's shoulder supportively, but seriously.

Tigan looked down at Elizabeths hand that was on her shoulder, Tigan had not felt the touch of another person since the death of her father. Tigan then looked back up at Elizabeth, "I am not trying to be mean, but I don't know who or which one killed my father, and I will never find out if I don't have proof. If I have to I will kill..." Tigan thought about what Elizabeth would say, "All the BAD ones if I have to. But I'm not saying that I wouldn't protect myself from the GOOD ones too. It would be nice to be one of them so I could understand how they feel and think, but it would be hard." Tigan then looked around the grounds of the school now not seeing many people. She then turned back to Elizabeth and asked, "Will you be my friend? You are the only person here who has ever talked to me and understood me like you do." Tigan thought for a second that she would jump up and run away, but despritly hoped she wouldn't.
