Tigan knew what Elizabeth was going to do, and thought that it was going to be a really bad idea. When Elizabeth grabbed his arm, Tigan thought for a moment that she saw blood dripping from his hand, but couldn't really tell, Tigan then looked back up at Elizabeth ready to see if he was going to make her fly. He looked angry, but also hurt. Tigan wasn't sure if she should cover her head with her book again or just sit and watch. But when Elizabeth tightened her grip, this made Tigan feel protective of her, Tigan didn't want anything to happen to her new friend. Tigan stood up, ready to do anything possible to protect Elizabeth if needed.

Kill the-[/b] Shut up! Nate was shocked as the girl stood up and gripped his arm, his eyes widening, even more so as her hold tightened. What he was far more shocked by was the fact he had heard a voice in his head. He had heard a voice in his head, telling him to kill them. This was not normal, as anyone would conclude. For Nate, however, it was almost...welcome. He could tell something flared in his eyes, because he considered it. He actually considered it. Considered letting go and just becoming a Wolf. He shook his head, before turning to the girl. "It's not you." He said, almost begging.

Elizabeth, although feeling bold, felt very protected and admired when she saw Tigan stand behind the boy in readied defense.
She made eye contact with him. The fire that was in his eyes when he had first began speaking to them had returned. Only this time... it had seemed somewhat hostile. But she still didn't look away. Her tone was maternal, caring, loving. "Tell me." Her grip loosened. "Please?"
Elizabeth couldn't help wanting to help this boy out. It didn't matter what he might have been. Underneath it all, he was hurt. She held herself back in wanting to hug him.

Tigan could tell at first that he looked like he wanted to tear her to pieces. But when he spoke it sounded like he was trying to control himself, or something was controling him. Tigan was standing behind him, while Elizabeth was standing in front of him, still holding his arm. Tigan agreed with Elizabeth something about this guy made her just want to help and understand. But she still wanted to protect her new friend. So she waited and listened.

Nate did not think of himself as particularly nice. This was not so much an opinion, as a fact. He'd always known there was something deep inside him. It was just there. Best it stayed there. He had ways of dealing with what'd happened to him in the past. He refused to let bloodlust become one of them. His Uncle had told him one thing about his father: He always did what he thought was right. Nate didn't. His father had been noble, his father had done the right thing...And his father died.
Nate was not going to repeat that. "Tell me." Her grip loosened. "Please?" Without a second's warning, his expression turned venomous, and he struck. "Do you really want to know what could drive someone like me, in all appearances - a jerk, to have a panic attack? Hmmmm? Are you sure you wanna get that deep in my walking shit of a life that you might not be able to pull yourself out?" The outburst seemed to give him strength; he stood up straighter, that solidness returned to his eyes.

The boy's expression had turned faster than Elizabeth's heart could beat. The fire was gone.
She flinched at the boy's hostility, but she stood her ground. She couldn't let him leave, not at any cost. She promised she would help Tigan in helping her find her father's killer, and this was as close as she would get without her blood being drained on site.
"You know what, maybe I do," she replied aggressively. "Look, we're sorry about blowing you off earlier. But don't you dare run away from whatever problem you're facing!" Her voice had risen, and other people in the shop began to stare. Elizabeth really didn't care if her boldness would set him off. There was no way, no way he was going anywhere without giving some answers first. Or, at least before he calmed down. Tigan deserved at least that much.

Tigan knew that if he did attack her, she was no match for him, and neither was Elizabeth. So while they were speaking, she listened and watched carefully. Tigan could see the anger and pain in his eyes, but she could also see the control he had over himself. Tigan knew that if this continued Elizabeth was going to get hurt.
"Lizzy, maybe this place is not the best place to be talking about something that could hurt someone like him. Maybe we should just let him go so that he can go off and deal with being a losser on his own. Because only a losser would let something get in the way of potential friends."
Tigan said this knowing that he would maybe get made at what she said and hopfully turn his anger towards Tigan instead of Elizabeth. She was Tigans only friend, the only person in town who even bothered to get to know her. Tigan would do anything to keep that friendship going, even if it ment Tigan getting hurt.

Elizabeth peered over the boy's shoulder at Tigan for a moment with a look of both frustration and sorrow on her face. Why was she egging him on? That would make him turn on her.
'No, she's been through enough pain for a lifetime,' Elizabeth thought. 'I'll take the blow for her without any hesitation. It's time someone other than her got hurt.'
Elizabeth gave Tigan a look that asked, "What are you doing?! Please don't..." She brought her eyes back on the boy. All of this had happened within a second or two.

Nathan's face contorted in anger, his damaged hand clenched, and he closed his eyes, willing to let it take him wherever it wanted. If that was a jail cell for assault...murder, then so be it. He was a Wolf. Wolves killed those who challenged them without 5 seconds hesitation. Fact. If it had been a Wolf in this situation, that girl would have died the moment she insulted him. Slowly, but surely, a grin appeared on his face. This wasn't one of pleasure, but one of malice, deadly intent and sheer ferocity. Noone doubted he could kill them. One big part of him desperately wanted to. You are what you choose to be. His Uncle's words. During the first week in Forks, Nate had fallen into depression. He'd called himself a loser, like that girl had said, and many things far worse. After 9 days, Uncle Dave grabbed him brutally by the shoulders and told him that simple saying.
He didn't have to be a Wolf. He could be...something more. More then a Human, aswell. He didn't have to give in. He could mix them. The kindness of the Human, the determination of the Wolf. It wasn't a choice between beaten, crying, depressed Nathan and insane, eternally angry and killer Nathan.
The grin disappeared. Replacing it was a cold stare of grim determination. He wheeled on the girl who'd spoken to him, and called him a Loser. His lips were pursed, his voice cold as he spoke. "Forgive me for succumbing to a crippling mental fraility that effects hundreds of thousands of people every day, and not being too keen to share with two girls off the street. And you calling me a loser is the height of hypocrisy." His voice had grown stronger, even then before. His eyes were focussed on her alone as he ran his eyes up and down. "You keep your head down to avoid attention, because you think you're ugly, think that someone might see you and consider you the Walrus of Forks, when you are obviously closer to the Flower of Forks, if only you didn't have an experience in your life to cause you to keep your head down. You deliberately taunt someone you see as dangerous to make sure you're friend, probably you're only friend from the vehemency of your response, does not come to harm. Once again implying you see yourself as worthless, when I have long come to appreciate the hidden value inside all of us." He sighed, dramatically, throwing up his right arm in mock amazement. "And to think! The actual reason I came over here was because I thought you the most beautiful thing I'd seen since I was brought screamining into this world."

Elizabeth's stomach turned as the boy looked down at her. 'If looks could kill,' she thought, 'I'd be long gone by now.'
Her eyes darted back and forth between the boy and Tigan. She kept a close eye on her friend's reaction. She didn't have anything to say. She actually mostly agreed with what he had said about her keeping her head down; when Elizabeth had touched her shoulder and leaned in to whisper to her before, Tigan acted like nobody had given her such attention. She was traumatized still, and Elizabeth knew that.
Her heart jumped when the boy said, "I thought you the most beautiful thing I'd seen since I was brought screaming into this world." It didn't jump in anger, or jealousy, or surprise. It was in sheer happiness. How could any boy not have already fallen in love with Tigan? She was gorgeous, for one, and she had a bright personality once you broke her shell. She wondered what Tigan was thinking right now. She finally let her hand drop from the boy's arm.

Tigan knew that she had angered him, but she didn't realized how much. When he started to talk about her, she put her head down again, and wanted to cry. Not from him yelling at her, and not from all the people hearing. But because he was right. She never wanted to face the fact that she was hiding from everyone, she only wanted to find her fathers killer. But when she heared him say that he thought she was Beautiful, Tigan immediatly raised her head up in amazment. But even if he did, she had now made him mad. The only thing she could do was to make him not mad. But she didn't know exactly how. "If you want me to start crying just because you pointed out a few problems I have, then don't count on it. If you want me to fall at your feet just because you are hansome and think I'm beautiful, then don't count on that either. But if you think that getting mad like this would impress me then don't think about that either. The only way you are getting out of here without hurting me or Lizzy, is if you can calm down enough to talk to us. All we want is to help you and to make you not hurt inside anymore. If you don't want our help then please go ahead and leave. But atleast think about it." Tigan said to him, not flinching a muscule. She knew that if she stood up to him, she had a small chance that he would back down and start acting human again.
