Lexi laughed and rolled her deep burgundy eyes. ”You’re a weirdo,” she stated in amusement. ”I like it,” she added with a grin. There was something seriously overrated about being normal these days. Besides, she was a vampire; she was fairly certain she couldn’t ever be classified as normal anymore. But whatever. She wasn’t normal as a human, so she wasn’t going to be normal now.
”Good, you wouldn’t be much use if you just pissed me off all the time,” she joked. Though, that would suck buckets, and Miss Walton would not like that one bit. ”If you’re just gonna be grumpy the rest of the night Mr. Frownypants, I’m just gonna run off and then you’ll be lost,” she threatened, though jokingly seeing as he wasn’t actually grumpy. At least, she hoped not. She never was the best at reading people. ”Oh, well then, I guess we could make up our own expression then. It’s much more fun to be original, anyways,” she said and thought about it. She hoped she was original, she liked to think she was. She disliked just being another person in another crowd in another world that no one paid any attention to. She liked attention, as long as it was good attention. ”Alright. Make sure you think of something within the next 100 years. I ain’t getting any younger, you know,” she said. Well, there was an outright lie. But he didn’t need to know.
”Good, this pleases me,” she said with a grin. Ha! So he had been looking at her. Well duh. And the duh wasn’t her ego talking, though at times that could be somewhat inflated. She was a vampire, he was human, therefore he would at least look at her once or a twenty times. Lexi was somewhat thrilled, secretly. A lot of guys and gals just ran away at the smallest mention of a kid. Maybe he was different? She certainly hoped. Though she wanted to just get it over and eat him, he was somewhat alluring. She felt different around him, a good different. She just didn’t know how to explain the rapid growth rate, but maybe he secretly knew about vampires.
”Four times is much better than never have read it all,” she pointed it. No one’s life was complete until they had read the series at least twice. That was the way to go. She stopped and waited, though the whole not moving thing made her antsy. She was a very fidgety type of person. ”Hmm…yes, I do. I do indeed,” she nodded. Lexi grinned excitedly and took his hand, but regretted it the moment she did. The human warmth from his hand never burned her frozen skin, and she could feel the rush of blood beneath the thin barrier. Lexi almost froze in her tracks, the back of her throat burning for his blood. Lexi kept going, not letting a thing show that anything was different than ten seconds ago. She clenched her teeth together and pulled him along, a bit struck by excitement. When she reached the small little mountain thing, she let go and began to climb. It wasn’t that hard, a kid could do it. ”Watch your step, and Imma smack you if you look up my dress,” she said, climbing, but trying to slow down. She was just excited. She loved this spot.

" well thats good to hear " he said with a smile. not many girls were into him when he started opening up. they liked the strong silent type which was pretty much the complete opposite of what he was. but it was too bad for them because he wasn't all that into how they were like either.
" but then you'd feel bad and come back for me " he told her with an assuring nod. well at least he hoped she would feel bad and come back. or he would be stuck wondering these woods alone for a while. but he eventually would find his way out hopefully before any animals come out looking for something to eat. " we should, and it would be much more creative and interesting " he said adding on to her thought. " well since you said that i'm going to take my sweet time " he told her just to be annoying.
" i'm here to please " he said with a small smile on his face. he kept thinking about her kid and what she would be like. how old was she? she couldn't be that old because lexi was only ninteen. and who was she with now that lexi was with him? he decided to keep this questions until later not wanting to ruin the mood now. but he was pretty curious about her daughter and wanted to learn more about her.
he waited to see if she had anywhere to go and she nodded before grabbing his hand. griffin paused for a moment he knew his hands were cold but lexi's were freezing. and her hands felt hard like stone but he kept going and didn't question anything. maybe she was colder then he was seeing as though she was just wearing a dress. but it didn't seem to bother her at all. grififn felt a little uneasy about it but he didn't want to let go of her hand. she pulled him along and he followed lost in his thoughts wanting to say something but couldn't find the worlds for it. they reached a small mountain and she let go and he was a bit disappointed, he stared at his hand for a moment but then stopped as soon as he saw her look. lexi began to climb up the mountain and then he was suppose to go. " did i mention i was bad with heights? " he asked her knowing that he hadn't. griffin was not a big fan of heights in spite of his name. that made him feel kind of pathetic he was named after a bird but he didn't like being up high? but he was working on getting over it he just didn't think climbing up a mini mountain was going to help at all.
but he wasn't going to be left down here all alone so he started to climb after her but kept reminding himself not to look down. griffin kept his thoughts on lexi and how he was going to bring up the whole freezing hand and hard skin thing to her. or he could just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen? he wasn't sure what he was going to do but he kept it in mind not wanting to think hoe high he was at the moment.

”I think If I didn’t like the weird aspect about you I would be a little hypocritical, wouldn’t you think?” she said, poking fun at herself. Lexi thought that it was thing to be able to tease other people, but if you couldn’t take a joke yourself, then you kinda sucked. Even more so, if you could take a joke and even make jokes about yourself, then you were even better. It just so happened that Lexi was so easily joked about that she had to learn to accept it. She loved the attention anyways.
“Aww, damn, that’s true,” Lexi frowned slightly at him. She shook her head and sighed. “Darn me for having feelings and being able to feel guilty, and darn you for realizing that,” she said, then grinned. Truth be told, there was nothing that would make her leave right now. Penelope was fine, she was with the babysitter. She always told the babysitter she’d be out longer than she actually would be, that way he or she wouldn’t get worried. ”I guess I’m just a really good knight in shining armour then. I have to make sure you get to your destination safely,” she joked. Plus, it gave her a nervous feeling to set Griffin free in the forest at night when there were vampires lurking around. She wanted to rip his throat out, so she imagined others would too. Ugh darnit. He kept finding the loopholes in her words. He was a sneaky little bastard. This, she liked. ”You suck,” she said, and stuck her tongue out at him.
If he was there to please then she would no longer be thirsting for his sweet, sweet red bloody goodness. She figured that he was there to tease. Normally she was the one that was supposed to tease people. Of course, she was doing her fair share of teasing now, but she was sure he was winning and he didn’t even know it. Crap, she felt his slight hesitation and cursed in her head. She always had to be careful about touching humans. That was why she couldn’t wait for the winter; she’d fit in better. She pretended as if she didn’t even notice this, and continued on walking, pulling him along with her. ”No, but it doesn’t matter. It’s not very high up. I’ll catch ya if ya start to fall,” she promised. Though she was climbing before him, she had reflexes faster than he could fall, probably. And even if she couldn’t stay attached to the small hill, she could cushion the fall. Wouldn’t hurt her one bit, and he’d be safer. She didn’t want him getting hurt. ”Griffin, if you don’t climb, I can’t show you my special place,” she said. Wait, that sounded dirty. ”When it’s not cloudy out, you can see the moon, the stars, the entire town. It’s really pretty,” she said. There, less dirty.
Of course, Alexandria didn’t blame him for not liking heights. To be honest, she wasn’t a fan of them either. But ever since she was turned into a vampire, and found that hardly anything could hurt her, her fears were slightly more manageable. She heard him climb and smiled to herself. When she got to the top she kneeled on the edge. When she got close enough, she grabbed his hand and pulled him up. Though, she had to make it look like it wasn’t the easiest thing in the world for her, plus she had to let him do a lot of the work. She dragged him over to a spot next to a huge tree and sat down on the ground. She patted the small patch of earth beside her and smiled up at him. ”Take a seat,” she smiled, then looked out. She wished it wasn’t cloudy; he could see how great everything looked. ”So, think of anymore questions on your climb up?” she asked him.

" you are a bit weird " he told her with a small smile. but then again who was he to judge he was rather weird himself. well they could just be weird together, everything was a lot more interesting that way. griffin was happy to see that lexi could joke about herself and not take it seriously. you couldn't say that about many people, a lot took themselves much too seriously. which he of course didn't see the point of, why be so serious when you could have a little fun. joking around about yourself wasn't the end of the world so why not go for it.
" very true, you'd feel so guilty you wouldn't be able to live with yourself " he told her pretending he would be sure of himself. but he was pretty sure that she wouldn't leave him. who else would she find in the woods at this time to bother other then him? and what would she do without him to talk to. well it was more like what would he do without her to talk to but he wasn't going to make it seem that way.
she reassured him that she would catch him which made no sense seeing as though she was above him. how could she possibly get below him that fast. he just shook his head and stared at how tall it was an how many bones he would break if he fell. biting his lip he was deciding to just go for it. his eyebrows shot up when she talked about her special place. he knew what she meant but it didn't make it sound any less dirty to him. " that sounds like something i would want to see " he said going along with it. but he really was curious to see what was so interesting at the top of the mountain, he wanted to see why it was special to lexi. she spoke about the view and how you could see the stars, moon, and even the entire town. maybe if the moon was out he would be able to see lexi more clearly because there weren't trees covered it the entire time. that was one of the things that would definitely motivate him to climb up.
he continued to climb up the small hill really trying not to look down. but all he could imagine was him falling and breaking most of the bones in his body. now that wouldn't be a pretty site and he would spend the rest of his time in this town on bedrest covered in plaster. but before he knew it he was getting close to the edge and lexi helped him up. griffin sat on the edge glad he made it all the way up here. maybe he really was living up to his name, but as soon as he looked down where he climbed he wasn't so sure. but before he had a chance to freak out about the height he was being dragged to a tree and he took a seat next to lexi. when she asked if he had any questions he paused for a moment before finally letting loose " are you cold? " he asked. even though it was a lame question he couldn't get use to how her hand felt in his. a normal person was never usually that cold, but maybe he was just imagining things. maybe his hands just happened to be hot and hers felt cool when holding his.
but now that they were higher up and there were no clouds the moonlight helped make everything a bit lighter. and instead of staring at the view his eyes were set on lexi. griffin really couldn't explain what happened next but his hand reached her fast and pushed back some hair behind her ear. as he did his fingertips brushed against her skin gently and her face was clearly shown. " sorry, i didn't mean too " he said pulling back his hand fast. he was going way to fast, and she was probably thinking of how to get out of the situation now. when his fingers brushed across her skin it seemed to be just as cold. but griffin didn't regret moving her hair because he could finally see her face clearly now. and now that he could he was at a loss of words he wanted to tell her how beautiful he thought she looked but he didn't want to scare her away so he just kept quiet and pretended to enjoy the view. griffin bit his lip hoping that lexi wouldn't leave or would want to stay away from him.

”Well, there’s no denying that,” she laughed lightly. Why deny the obvious? It was a simple way to live life, or not live it, in her vampiric case. Whatever. It worked. Lexi cocked an eyebrow and placed her hand at her hip. ”You really think I’d be so distraught that I would go fling myself off a cliff?” she said. ”Wow, either I appear to be that sorta girl, or you have met some really dramatic people,” she said with amusement clear in her voice. This boy was weird. Little did he know, she would feel horribly guilty if she just ran away and left him there. Something might eat him! If she couldn’t eat him, then no one would eat him. There was no fairness if someone else ate him. Plus Lexi had the feeling that she would be very sad if Griffin were to die. ”But maybe I should stick around just in case. Wouldn’t want to find out what guilt really does to me,” she added on as an after thought. Also, that meant he knew she would be bugging him for a bit longer, and wouldn’t randomly disappear.
”Oh, I’m sure you would love my special place,” she said. ”Only a few people have gotten to see it.” Only Alexandria Marilyn Walton was the type of girl that could say that with a completely straight face and be able to not absolutely burst out in laughter. Oh, innuendo. Often she and Jacob would banter back and forth between each other. At this thought, she chomped down on her lip. Oh shitsticks! Jacob got annoyed when other boys even tried to flirt with her. No, they weren’t dating…so to speak. Well, maybe she just wouldn’t tell Jacob about Griffin quite yet. Besides, it wasn’t best to tell a human-eating vampire about a boy you maybe sorta kinda really liked who smelled so delicious. There would be the end of the boy. Sad face. ”But you have to promise not to take some other girl up here,” she said. ”’Kay?” Lexi didn’t really want other people finding the place she went to just relax. Plus, there was an odd part pulling at her that told her she would be most displeased at the thought of Griffin being here with some person. Though he said he was single. Hmm. ”It can be like our secret hideout or something,” she said as an afterthought.
Lexi watched as Griffin looked over the edge. ”Don’t worry, there’s an easier, safer way down,” she promised. But climbing was much more fun than just walking along a boring old path. Besides, he made it up there in one piece! ”No, why? Are you?” she asked, then almost wanted to fling herself off the cliff. Crap crap crap. She had forgotten about her skin momentarily, and just when she did, he noticed it. But it wasn’t as if she could hide it. Maybe she should move to Alaska or something. At least she would have a reason to have such cold skin. ”I mean, I suppose I am a little chilly, but nothing I can’t live through.” Maybe that would make it seem less suspicious. ”Plus, you know, poor blood circulation,” she said. ”And extremities always get cold first.” Oh shit, she was just rambling and making excuses now. Lexi hadn’t actually been faced with this question before, so she didn’t know quite what to say. She looked away from Griffin and down at her hands. Craaaaapppp.
Suddenly she saw Griffin’s hand move from the corner of her eye and she looked back up at him. It took all her strength not to stick her teeth into the veins that popped out from his wrist. What made it worse was that his veins were so close to her ear, that way she could hear every rush of his blood. Her eyes were so deep red now that they were almost black, but she prayed she still had the cover of the night on her side. ”No…no it’s okay,” she mumbled like an idiot. She’d never really been touched by a human like that before. Sure she’d been touched by one, but not a curious human. Sex was something that was sorta like BAM done and over with, not much thought given. But this touch was gentle, caring almost, that it was enough to freak Lexi the hell out. He was suspicious, wasn’t he? She saw Griffin look over at the view and her eyes followed, not sure what the hell she was supposed to do. ”We should build a treehouse, you know,” she said after a couple minutes of not saying anything. ”If we’re gonna have a secret hideout, then there needs to be a treehouse,” she claimed. ”Otherwise, where are we gonna, you know, hideout?” Ugh. Why did she have to be a vampire? It’s so much easier to talk to a delicious boy when he doesn’t literally smell delicious.

he couldn't help but smile as her hand made its way to her hip. " well i don't think you'd go to that extreme, but im sure the guilt will be bad " he said clarifying what he meant. he of course didn't think she was the type of girl to be that dramatic but he knew she would have to feel some guilt. just wouldn't try to get rid of the guilt by jumping off a cliff. " no we wouldn't " he said agreeing with her. griffin couldn't help but grin at her he couldn't have this type of conversation with most of his friends they would probably just ignore him and tell him he was strange. but lexi on the other hand actually had witty comebacks for him, and made him think. if only he could meet more people who were like her, which he doubted though she was pretty original and he doubted he would find anybody like her.
" oh really, that makes it even more special " he said adding onto it. he shook his head when she told him not to take another girl there. there was no way he was going back up here unless he had too. " i won't take anyone up there " he promised. maybe if he happened to be in the woods alone and just happened to remember where it was he would attempt to climb. he shrugged it off he didn't trust himself alone with a cliff, it wasn't going to happen. " i like the sound of that, a secret hideout " he said thinking it over. at least he knew when he was up here with her they would hopefully not be interrupted by anyone. and he would be able to get to know her better without having to worry.
he turned to look at her when she spoke about the easier, and safer way down. " so we went up here for your amusement? " he asked her with a serious face. but soon after he just smiled and shook his head at least he had a chance to get over his fear with this. but if there was an easier way he would of at least wanted the option to go that way. when he asked if she was cold she said no and asked about him, " not really " he said shaking his head a bit. so if she wasn't cold then why was her skin freezing. but then she began to explain it and seemed to just be rambling about it, something about blood circulation and things of that sort. griffin just nodded pretending that he understood what she was trying to say. but honestly she just made him a whole lot more suspicious then when he was earlier. there was something about lexi that she was hiding and he wasn't sure if he wanted to know or not. but maybe if he got to know her more she would be inclined to share what it was.
he kept his hands at his side after it had happened to keep himself from doing it once more. she mumbled and he was glad that she wasn't angry with him. but she did seem pretty freaked out but he shared the feeling shocked that he would do something like that to a person he met not too long ago. griffin was hoping to be able to say something to break the silence, anything to keep from thinking about what he just did. he leaned back against the tree and looked up into the sky hoping to see something to distract him. but lexi beat him to the punch and talked about building a tree house. " we should, a huge tree house " he said happy that the subject had changed and the mood had lightened. griffin remembered having this exact same conversation with his father about building a tree house in their backyard. they both seemed pretty excited about it at glad to be able to spend some father son time. but then his dad got promoted and seemed to be at work pretty much all the time, and that's when the arguments started between him and his mother. but they both had too much pride to ask for a divorce even though it seemed that would be best. griffin always use to worry about who he would want to live with; but now that he was eighteen and going to head to college soon he would be able to live on his own and stay neutral. griffin turned to lexi not wanting to think about his parents marriage at a time like this. even though he knew they probably really weren't going to build a tree house the thought seemed pretty interesting.

”I think you’re right on both counts,” she agreed with him. She was pretty much damn glad that it was impossible for her to blush anymore, otherwise there would have been several times that night where her cheeks would have been bright pink. Not that he would have been able to see, considering it was dark out, but still, knowing that her cheeks were bright pink always made her nervous. But thanks to being a vampire she didn’t blush and it appeared like she was able to keep her cool. Finally, something good to come from being a huge freak! ”Besides, I couldn’t leave a defenseless man on his own. I mean, you should always have a big, tough girl by your side to keep you safe,” she teased. To him, she probably looked like she’d have the strength of a little kid. She was tiny, but oh, she was rather darn powerful. Yay for powers!
”Exactly. You should be honoured that I am even taking you here in the first place,” she pointed out proudly. ”In some countries they’d kill you after letting you in on a secret. But I like you, so I think I’ll keep you around,” Lexi said to Griffin. She’d like to kill him. Wait, that sounded bad. Oh darnit. She was pretty sure that thirst for blood was worse than hormones. Jesus Christ. ”Good deal,” she decided. Lexi was secretly thrilled that some ho would not be in her special place. Well, she couldn’t drink Griffin’s blood, but no one said anything about his dates…naw, that’d probably make Griffin sad. She wouldn’t want that. ”Though, if you’re ever on the run from the law, I’d advise you not to come here. Cause then you’d just be leading the cops to our secret hideout, and then they would be able to thwart all of our evil plans,” she pointed out. Now, they most definitely would not want that, now would they? No, she was fairly certain that would suck. A lot. Stupid government.
”Oh, uhm….” she said, trailing off. Crap. He had caught onto her. Well, now that the cat was out of the bag…speaking of cats, she should probably feed her babies when she got home. Now, not the baby, but Little One and Kitty, her lovely black cats. ”Well, yeah,” she admitted with a grin and a laugh. ”Fun, wasn’t it? You made it up here alive, and you somewhat conquered your fear of heights, plus I didn’t have to rescue you. All in all I think it was a fun little adventure,” she decided. Aww, was he going to be mad at her now? She certainly hoped not. That would make her sad on the inside. ”Please don’t be mad at me,” she added on, giving him the puppy dog eyes once more. Hey, they worked the first time. ”Good cause I didn’t bring a coat for you,” she said. Damn damn damn. If he would forget it, it would be so much simpler. Then again, if he kept going on about it, she would end up just spilling the beans, and he’d either run away or stay. But her bet was he’d run away. He was human after all.
Lexi smiled to herself when Griffin added onto her little random piece of nothing. ”We could make it a huge mansion tree house. With ten levels and twenty seven bathrooms,” she said. ”Or maybe just a nice, one roomed thing, like on Arthur.” Damn, that was a great show. She’d have to make Penny watch that one day. Even at such a young age, she was fairly certain her daughter wasn’t quite pleased with all of Lexi’s shenanigans. But maybe she’d like the lovable aardvark. ”So what do you think of the view?” she asked him, looking out across the foresty area. She knew that they both had to go home eventually, but that eventually was not yet, and therefore she would make the most of her time with him. She liked to bug him. He was a good subject of bugging.

" yes, i couldn't survive without a tough girl by my side " he said nodding. griffin never depended on anybody to fight his battle's. first of all it was pretty hard to find a tough person who was willing to take on your enemies for you. and secondly why have that person put their neck out on the line for you? the last person he'd have to help him would definitely be lexi, he wouldn't want the girl he liked fighting to keep him alive. not to mention she didn't seem like she could take on a wild animal, but he never knew what type of surprises the girl could be holding up her sleeve.
" well i'm very glad you like me too much to kill me " he said with a nod, " i appreciate you letting me live a bit longer " he told her. griffin wasn't the type to fear death, he knew it was coming eventually so why fight it. but if the situation were ever to come up where death was an option he wouldn't know what he'd do. probably fight to live a bit longer but there was no way of really knowing until it had to come to that. not that he wanted his life to be on the line but it definitely would make a very interesting experience that he would never forget." no no, i won't let the cops mess with our plans " he said, there was no way the government was going to get in on this. griffin drove by the police station the other day and there weren't too many. they didn't seem to get a lot of crime in the area, most were just animal crimes. maybe they should increase the animal control squad instead of the police, he was more worried about getting eaten then shot in this town.
she admitted to having an easier way and talked about adventure. she used the puppy dog eyes once more and he sighed he couldn't resist them. it was pretty sad, " i'm not mad... this time " he said warning her. if this were to happen again he may not be able to control himself. " next time give me the option of going the easier way at least " he said, that was the least she could do. he smiled when she talked about how it would look. a huge mansion or a tiny simple one like arthur one of the classic kid shows. griffin could remember sitting in front of the tv waiting for it to come on and not budging until the credits came on. it was a great show definitely. he was the type of kid who pretty much had the tv for a babysitter cause his parents were always busy. they would till be in the house but too busy to watch him, again not that he minded he learned a lot from those tv shows. " i think the view is pretty amazing " he admitted. he didn't think he could find a view like this anywhere else, he didn't even think that forks really did look this pretty.

”It takes a good man to admit that,” she said with a bright smile. ”Besides, us girls get bored of men always trying to protect us. Half the time you guys need someone to save your ass anyways. Cause really, I’m fairly certain the world would go to hell without kick ass women around,” she said. It was a good belief, and a rather strong one at that. Sure, men ‘ruled’ for a long time, but Lexi it was certain that it was time to show that women didn’t like to just clean houses and cook all day. Besides the fact that she didn’t have a long enough attention span to clean, nor was there much a point in cooking anymore. ”See, that’s what I thought,” she told him. ”I mean, would you still want to hang out with me if I was just going to cut you into pieces or something? If you were to answer yes to that question, then there might be something wrong with you. Either that or you really, really like me,” she teased.
But alas, she was not allowed to harm Griffin, no matter how much she wanted to sink her teeth into his soft, warm flesh. ”I think I’ll let you live for awhile. As long as you don’t piss me off,” she added with a twinkling laugh. Of course she was just joking. Even if she was completely enraged, she didn’t think she could bring any harm onto Griffin. He was right about the whole guilt thing. She’d probably feel bad if she just stepped on his toe or something. There was no way in hell that she could bring harm onto him. She just had to keep reminding herself that. ”I’m glad I know I can trust you with secrets then. It’s hard to find a good confidante nowadays.” This was very true in Lexi’s case. Everyone just kept leaving her. It was actually getting rather annoying, not to mention they were playing with her heart and it wasn’t very nice.
Lexi bit her lip so that she wouldn’t laugh or smile. But it was cute, just the thought of him being mad. She didn’t think he could be really all that mad at her anyways. ”I’m sorry, next time I’ll tell you the boring way of getting some place,” she promised him with a little grin. ”Does this mean you don’t like airplanes?” she asked, wondering about the heights thing. She wasn’t exactly a fan of them. She was fine with heights, but big heavy metal things were not supposed to be able to fly. It just didn’t add up. ”It is, isn’t it? I’ll bring you here on a starry night. It’s so much more pretty,” she said. But first, she’d had to see what the moonlight did to her skin. After all, the light from the moon was merely a reflection of the light from the sun, and the light from the sun made her skin sparkle. She had a feeling the moon would do it too, but she wondered to what extent. ”So, Mr. Griffin. Where do you have to be when the sun rises?” she asked him. Job? Or was he still in high school? He did say he was 18 after all. Wouldn’t be the first time that she caused a boy to be late for class.

even though he tried hard not to think about it whenever she smiled he couldn't get how cute she was out of his head. if he had it his way he would have lexi smiling all the time, and laughing because seeing her laugh was even more amazing then seeing her smile. griffin felt old in his way of thinking, instead of thinking like most teenage boys his age would he thought about the small things. like the color of a girls eyes or the smile on her face. but he didn't mind that quality about him, he didn't want to think of himself as the average boy. now that he thought about it though he couldn't really see the colors of her eyes they just seemed dark to him. shrugging it off he decided he would see them eventually no need to rush it now. maybe if the sun came out he would be able to see her clearly and the image would probably be burned into his mind staying there forever. until he was old of course and started losing his memory about pretty much everything including his name once in a while.
" i guess i'm a good guy " he said with a small grin not sure whether to believe in that or not. " don't worry i won't ever even think about trying to protect you " he said sarcastically assuring her. even though they both probably knew that he wouldn't let anything happen to her if he had a say in it. he'd definitely stick his nose into it and try to save her whether she wanted his help or not he would be there. but you could never tell with girls maybe lexi had some secret skill and could kick his ass in a second. she was small but he learned not to underestimate people the hard way. " maybe your just lucky and i really, really, really like you " he said adding an extra really. he stuck his tongue out at the end to make it seem like he was just kidding even though what he said couldn't be more true. he really did like her and if she said she was going to kill him he probably wouldn't run. see boys are stupid when it comes to girls, and he was a perfect example of that.
" i'll make sure to try and never make you mad " he said really meaning it. he didn't want to see lexi angry, both because one he would be scared to see that and secondly he didn't want to see her unhappy. and then she laughed, again with the amazing laugh that he couldn't get over. he was infatuated with the girl that was it, and he didn't know what he was going to do with it. but first he wanted to make sure he really knew the girl so that he wasn't infatuated with the idea of meeting a pretty girl in the woods and thinking she was cool. " you can tell me anything, i'll promise not to tell another soul " he said which was very true. he wouldn't have the heart to tell her secrets and seeing her angry at him, he would take her secrets to grave. if she had any she was willing to share with him that is. then again she just met him so he doubted he would find anything juicy out of her tonight. but the idea of her having a big secret did sound kind of fun.
" good because boring is safe and i'd rather not break into a million pieces " he said making sure she heard. but then he couldn't help but grin he had to admit climbing up that cliff was kind of fun and he wouldn't mind doing it again. not that he would ever admit that to her because he wasn't sure if he could handle going don that cliff, all that in one night would just be way too much. " i'm not sure about them " he admitted. " they seem to be falling out of the sky a lot so im not so sure " he told her. griffin then wished he could take back what he said, he already admitted to being afraid of heights and airplanes. he was making himself look like a wimp in front of this amazing daring girl. she climbed tiny cliffs, and walked through the woods at night and here he was afraid to be in an airplane. he shook his head at himself and made sure to watch what else came out of his mouth. " yeah it's really pretty " he said not talking about the view but made sure to look at the sky so she wouldn't know that. " well there is school but i'm not too keen on going " he admitted with a shrug. " care to play hooky with me? " he asked curiously. " unless you have somewhere you have to be? " he said making sure he wasn't keeping her from something. but he really did hope she would say no he wanted to spend the entire night with the girl. only in this case there was nothing sexual about it, it was just then staring at the sky.

Mr. Griffin was most definitely a good guy. If he wasn’t, then there was no way in hell that Lexi would be hanging around him. Then again, she didn’t always have the best judge in character. She liked to think she did, but the fact was, she was horribly wrong about that. Now, Griffin seemed nice and perfect and wonderful and delicious and hot and…where was she going with that train of thought? Oh yeah. He seemed like he was perfect, but then there was Loki who stalked her and then turned her into a freaking vampire, and she thought he was okay at first. Then there was Edison who said he loved her and was never going to leave her, then left her. Then there were probably about half a dozen other people where her judgement was lacking. But was that really her fault? She liked to think it was one of those things where it was the other peoples’ faults. Then again, maybe it was one of those fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me sort of things.
”That’s what I like to hear from a man,” she said with a decisive nod, but couldn’t stop the grin from coming onto her face. ”Well, I mean, if I am in some sort of position of completely helpless danger, I guess you could help me then. But help, not save. I’m sure I could still save myself,” she joked. Then again, Lexi was more helpless then she would like to believe, despite the fact that she was a vampire. Sure, she was physically strong, but that didn’t always count for shit. What if a vampire that was stronger than her decided to attack her or trap her, you know, something of that horrendous nature? Then she’d be pretty screwed, but then Griffin probably wouldn’t be much help either, what with being a human and all. Lexi laughed and almost rolled her eyes. ”An extra really, huh? Well then, that answers my question,” she said with a pleased smile. Human Lexi would have to run away and hide because of the blush that would be in her cheeks at the present moment of time, but vampire Lexi could act all cool and somewhat collected, though her mind was certainly screaming something different at her. She couldn’t get over the fact that he really liked her, times three! Ahhh, happy Lexi. She just hoped he liked her for her, rather than the way she looked. Stupid vampireness, it made liking people very complicated.
”I’d like to think I can be scary if I want to be. I don’t think you’d like me with claws and fangs running at you going rawr!” she said. Then again, she didn’t think she’d like herself then either. And where did the claws and fangs come from? She didn’t even have fangs, just really, really sharp and strong teeth. ”You’d be good to work for the FBI then. Unless it’s just my secrets you won’t tell. If that were the case, the rest of the world would not be safe,” she teased. She smiled at him though, generally comforted that she did now have someone to talk to other than Penelope who just looked at her funny half the time. Then instead Lexi would just start talking to herself and she looked like a crazy lady. So much for being a crazy cat lady, though she did love her two cats. She thought crazy cat ladies weren’t supposed to have families. Hmm. ”And you can tell me stuff, too. I may never shut up, but I know what’s good to tell and what I shouldn’t tell,” she said. It was true, she let her own secrets slip by mistake sometimes, but she never told someone else’s secrets. That was just wrong.
Lexi laughed and rolled her eyes. She’d probably swat him if he was Jacob, but since he wasn’t he actually might break into several pieces by accident. ”You’re not going to get hurt, not with me around,” she promised him. He probably didn’t know that she was willing to protect him from anything. For some reason, she couldn’t bare to see this guy getting hurt. ”Hmm, this is true. Plus, giant man-made hunks of metal should not be able to fly. Birds can fly. Birds are supposed to fly. Metal is not,” she said. She agreed with him. Though she seemed brave and she knew planes couldn’t harm her, she still didn’t like them. Hmm okay still in school. Whatever, he was still only a year younger than her. Like age ever stopped her anyways. Though it did seem she had a thing for older guys…oh shit. But they were all decades, some even a century, older than her. That wasn’t possible with a human. ”I would love to play hooky with you, Griffin,” she smiled broadly. ”Nope, my sister wanted to take Penny out for the day anyways,” she said. ”Though I did graduate last year so I don’t know if it really counts as hooky for me,” she laughed. But she totally didn’t mind playing hooky regardless. ”In this case, I have another place I can take you if you want.”

" i guess i could, but i'd have to think about it " he told her with a nod. if she was in danger of course he'd help in whatever way he could. he as hoping she wouldn't catch the extra really but unfortunately that wasn't the case. but she smiled instead of getting freaked out so he just smiled right back at her. he was kinda glad that he got it out there so at least she knew he was interested. she just didn't know that he was going crazy just thinking about her and how much he wished he could hold her hand once more. pushing those thoughts out of his head he decided to just concentrate on what they were talking about instead of being a creep.
" i don't think i would like that at all " he said shaking his head trying to hide the grin on his face. he could imagine her running through going rawr pretending to be a dinosaur. but in his head it looked very adorable not as scary as she wanted to make it seem. but it would be kinda scary if she grew claws and fangs when she was angry at him." well it depends on the secret "he told her with a wink. he was just kidding of course he wasn't the type to gossip about others, he kept what he was told confidential. griffin smiled when she said he would be able to tell her things too. at least he would have somebody in this town who he could really talk to. he mostly kept to himself and made everything seem as though it was fine so people wouldn't bother him about things.
she laughed that amazing laugh once more and griffin just sat taking it all in. how lucky was he to be sitting next to her right now he thought to himself. " if you say so griffin replied with a small shrug. he wasn't too good with the whole balance thing and he'd probably hurt himself in some ridiculous way which she would in turn die laughing of. he nodded agreeing with logic on why airplanes shouldn't fly. it was ridiculous what people could make these days. before he knew it he would be flying through the sky with a nifty cool like jet pack. that would be pretty awesome as long as it dint break and he didn't fall a million feet to the ground and crush himself. griffin couldn't help but smile a bit when she agreed to play hooky with him. he wasn't ready to leave her just yet. honestly griffin was worried that once he left he'd never be able to find her again. it wasn't as though she was always going to be in the woods when he wanted to talk to her. " that's true, but let's just call it hooky it sounds fun " he said with a small grin. his parents would probably be angry with him if they found out that he skipped school. but it wasn't as if he was going to miss anything super important he already was ahead in most of his classes. he always made sure to be ahead so that he would be assured a place at a good university far away from his parents. and missing one day wouldn't hurt his chance at that, and if anyone asked he could just explain that he wasn't feeling well. griffin decided to think of excuses for everyone later for now he would just focus on having fun with the pretty girl sitting next to him. " let's go then " he said excited to see where she wanted to take him. if it was as amazing as where they were now then he'd probably like it. but he really did hope that she would let him take the safe way down this time. he wasn't sure if his little old heart could take the climb back down. griffin stood up and steadied himself then offered his hand to lexi. any other excuse he had to touch her he was willing to take.

Lexi looked at him slightly surprised for a moment, slightly amused. ”You’d have to think about it? So you’re telling me that if my arm was almost detached from my body, you’d have to think about rushing me to a hospital?” she joked, knowing, or at least hoping, that he was kidding. It was a darn good thing that she never actually had to worry about that happening. ”Yes, yes that is definitely what I like to hear from people. I love it when they hesitate to help others,” she said, obviously joking yet again. She kinda liked that she and Griffin could joke around so easy like this. It was nice, it was comfortable. She hadn’t been this…easy going wasn’t the right word because she was always sort of like that. She just hadn’t felt this…relaxed? in a long time. ”So,” she began, deciding to bug him more about the extra really, ”what is it that makes you like me so very much as to include an extra really?” she half teased, half asked seriously. She was very curious to know what it was. If he said it was only because she was pretty, she’d probably smack him. That could be one of the reasons, but she’d be rather annoyed if it was the only reason.
”I doubt it. Unless you like that sort of freaky stuff,” she said, then almost wished she hadn’t said that. Hmm, that could be taken the wrong way. ”Monsters and dinosaurs and shiz, I mean,” she quickly corrected herself. It was a very, very good thing she could never blush again. Especially around Griffin, because she just felt like she’d be doing it every second of the day, and he’d probably grow to think that was her natural skin colour, bright pink. ”Yet you say that as you smile. I don’t get it,” she admitted, though grinned as well. She couldn’t really help it though. Every time she saw Griffin smile, it just made her want to drown in a sea of those smiles. Haha, what a loser she was turning out to be. Lexi smiled secretively and thought for a moment. ”Depends on what secrets you want to know,” she replied. You know, there was actually a bucket load of secrets that she’d feel perfectly fine with telling him. No problem at all, because she had to admit to herself that she was really liking this boy. But there was one huge massive explosive one that she was too terrified to even think about telling him. Plus it made her hungry just thinking about it. Bad thoughts, Lexi.
”You know, when I was little I didn’t understand what playing hooky meant. My sister asked me if I wanted to play hooky, and I told her no because at the time I had no idea how to skate,” she said, laughing at her own idiotic self. She was little, but she was also clueless. ”But the good news is, I know what hooky is and I know how to skate. All is well in Lexi Land,” she said. Lexi looked at Griffin and wondered something for a moment. ”I’m not going to get you in trouble, am I?” she asked with a sly grin. That probably wouldn’t stop her. She bet he could charm whatever trouble he got into away. He was pretty lucky in that sense to have found her, she supposed. Meanwhile, she also thought he was horribly unlucky considering how much her throat burned to have his blood. Well, it almost evened out. Not quite, but oh well. She smiled up at him and slid her cool hand into his, praying that he wasn’t going to freak out about her cold skin or anything. He could only think it was normal for so long. ”We can take the easy way down,” she said with a little grin, not letting go of his hand when she was finally standing. She took him behind a tree, then down a small path. It took a bit longer, but they didn’t go the full way down anyways. She made a detour and came across to a little cave. ”How much do you trust me?” she asked with a little grin as she stood outside the mouth of the cave.

" i might get blood all over my clothes " he said with a shrug trying not to grin at her. but she knew he was kidding and he knew that she was so no need to be serious. " good, because that's definitely me " he told her. he was really hoping that she didn't notice the extra really, but not only did she notice it she had to ask him about it. but she seemed to be teasing so he thought he might as well go along with it. " well your pretty... " he started knowing that was the average guy would think at first. but then he continued with what he really liked about her " and your kind of weird " he told her sticking his tongue at her then grinning. if he were to explain the extra really he'd probably not know what to say. there first was lexi's different and amazing personality, one that he'd never encountered before and was really interested in it. and the fact that being around her was much more comfortable then being around people he'd known for years. he felt like he could tell her things that he kept from most people and he wouldn't have to worry about her telling everyone. but of course griffin wasn't going to tell lexi all of this, for now he would just stick with his weird argument.
" yes they really are " griffin said agreeing with her about monsters and dinosaurs. but he was still thinking about the so called freaky stuff she said earlier. he wasn't sure what to think about it so he decided to let it go for now. " you make me smile " he said and then froze for a moment shocked that he actually said that out loud. griffin smiled hoping to play it off even though he was beating himself up on the inside. "whatever your comfortable sharing " he admitted, he wasn't going to force her to tell him something really personal. but if she wanted to he'd be here to listen and help out in any way that he'd be able too.
griffin couldn't help but laugh along with lexi after she finished her story about not knowing what hooky meant. he liked the fact that lexi could say these kinds of thing and not worry about her image like most girls did. " lexi land, do i ever get to visit ? " he asked curiously. " i hope not " he replied when she asked about the trouble. then again he never really thought about the consequences of his actions until they actually faced him. her hand slid into his and it still felt just as cold as before. but he didn't mind the cold, it definitely wasn't going to stop him from holding lexi's hand. she said they could take the easy way down and he was very glad, not wanting to risk looking at how high they were now. she lead him to the entrance of a cave before asking how much did he trust her. well seeing as though he just met her he trusted her more then he thought he would. " i trust you enough to go into a cave? " he asked hesitating a bit because he knew that was probably what she wanted to do. this girl was much more adventurous then he suspected, and hopefully all this adventure wouldn't have him leaving covered in bruises. he looked to lexi then the cave waiting for her to tell him that it was another one of her special places.

Oh shit monkeys, he did not just utter the words blood from his lovely mouth, did he? Of course he did; Lexi had perfect hearing, therefore she didn’t miss hear things. Crap crap crap, now all she was thinking about was his blood, rather than hers. She bit the inside of her cheek to sooth her need to sink her teeth into his flesh and continued on her normal exterior or weirdo Lexi. ”What if you were wearing one of those suits the people wear when they’re working on space station stuff so dust doesn’t on it? Otherwise, the space station might explode or something awful in space,” she reasoned. Lexi grinned and shook her head. ”Just what am I going to do with you, Mr. Griffin?” she sighed dramatically. Well she knew what she wanted to do, but that was completely besides the point. Oh there we go, she was pretty. She resisted rolling her eyes, only because she prayed that Griffin had something more intelligent to say about her, other than her looks. Oh, well, there was definitely something. She grinned and thought about it for a moment.
”So you like me because I’m pretty and weird?” she said with an amused smile. ”I guess those are reasons good enough. After all, it’s why I like you,” she teased. Yeah, that and the fact that she wanted his delicious crimson liquid flowing down her throat. Oh, keep that one secret. Ah, blushing moment. Well, if she could blush, she would be blushing. The second she heard that come from his mouth, she instantly smiled brightly. ”Well you make me smile, so I figure it’s an even trade off,” she giggled lightly. Pretty much every damn thing about the boy made her smile. It wasn’t even fair that he could be that perfect, and was only a human. She was a freaking vampire and she wasn’t even that great. ”Hmmm…” she said, pretending to put serious thought to it. ”Despite the fact that I am frolicking about at night in a forest, I am terrified of the dark,” she said honestly. She was terrified of it, but she could at least endure it now that she was a vampire and could see clearly and defend herself. But she did get scared of the things that went bump in the night. ”Got a secret for me?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
Alexandria burst out laughing when he asked that question. In her dirty mind it sounded rather, well, dirty. ”Sure darling, if you wanna,” she said, trying to control her laughter. She hoped she didn’t look like a laughing lunatic, but then remembered something; she didn’t care. ”It’s alright, I’m sure I can get you out of any trouble I happen to get you into,” she promised. After all, if she got him into that trouble, she might as well get him out. While Lexi waited outside the mouth of the cave for his response she began to grow bored with waiting. She was a rather impatient girl. ”That’s good enough for me,” she said with a mischievous grin. ”Stay right behind me, unless you want to kill yourself in the dark,” she said. She could see fine and she could catch him if he needed it, but she thought it was best not to expose herself. ”And away we go,” she said, taking his hand and slowly leading him into the pitch black cave. As she walked she carefully spotted out foot spots for him that would keep him safe, all the while leading him deeper into the cave. ”How do you feel about swimming?” she asked when they reached her destination. He couldn’t see it yet, but it was like a little underground swimming cave thing. So cute. She’d been there before and left candles for light in case she wanted to show her human friends this spot. Lexi struck a match and lit a couple candles, enough for Griffin to see. ”And here is my surprise,” Lexi said excitedly.
